"Ding, ding..."

A gust of night wind blew in, causing the wind chimes to jingle in the darkness. The ethereal sound made the already eerie atmosphere even more chilling.

A mysterious dim light lingered around two bell-sized chimes.

With a flick of his fingers, he wrapped the nylon string connecting the wind chimes around the head of a paper figure.

As soon as it was bound, the struggling paper figure fell silent. The chimes moved on their own, and with the echo of the bell, the paper figure became covered in wrinkles, as if someone had forcefully crumpled it.

Then, a layer of fresh blood covered the paper figure, and Qin Nuo clearly heard a piercing wail in his ear. A faint, twisted face appeared on the paper figure.

As the face faded away, the paper figure was consumed by sparks, turning to ashes, and a dark gray light orb drilled into the chime.

"Does this mean the curse is lifted?" Qin Nuo looked at the chime in his palm, a hint of confusion on his face.

Holding the curse-breaking wind chime, Qin Nuo followed the instructions from the Ghost Creature manual, infusing some Ghost Power into the chime.

A chill spread through his palm, and then the milky white light orb emerged, landing in front of Qin Nuo.

The light orb transformed into a young girl of about eleven or twelve, dressed in a blue and white school uniform, her hair tied in a ponytail, exuding youthful energy, and wearing a pair of brand-new white canvas shoes.

However, her pretty little face was pale, appearing wooden and bewildered.

She looked around, her eyes revealing a sense of unfamiliarity and fear. When her gaze fell on Qin Nuo, she spoke in a daze, "What's happening to me?"

Qin Nuo rubbed his nose and said, "Well, you could say I helped you escape that cage."

To his surprise, the girl showed no excitement or joy. Beneath her calm exterior, her vacant eyes still held a hint of sadness.

Qin Nuo asked, "Isn't this something to be happy about?"

"Maybe, but escaping the cage without knowing who I am, what's the point?" the girl said, lowering her head.

"I might be able to help you with that," Qin Nuo pondered, then said.

"You know who I am?" The girl's vacant eyes lit up slightly.

"I don't, but others might."

Qin Nuo hung the curse-breaking chime on his waist and, seeing the girl's puzzled expression, smiled slightly, "Come with me to a place first. Don't worry, I'm not a bad person, just a helpful big brother."

The girl's sense of caution was low, or perhaps nonexistent. She nodded and obediently followed Qin Nuo.

By this time, it was already past 2:30 in the morning.

The starless night sky was covered with thick clouds, and the rare moonlight shone down on the deathly silent Black Crow Ghost School.

At this hour, Qin Nuo wasn't sure if the little ghosts were still in the stage room, so he quickened his pace.

Returning to the stage room, he was fortunate to find the lights still on. Tang Rou and the others were on stage, continuing their rehearsal.

Atu and Agai were also there. Seeing Qin Nuo, they looked surprised, "Qin Feng, didn't you say you'd wait for us at the bathroom door? We waited for so long and couldn't find you inside!"

Qin Nuo hesitated slightly, shrugged, and said, "When I came out, you guys were gone too."

Atu gasped, fear on his face, "Could we have run into a ghost?"

Agai noticed the girl behind Qin Nuo and laughed foolishly, "Hey everyone, look, Qin Feng brought a girl back. Could she be his little wife?"

He craned his neck to see the girl's face.

The girl, a bit shy, hid behind Qin Nuo.

Then Agai's expression turned to shock, "Whoa, isn't that Violent Ting? What are you doing here?"

The girl blinked and asked Agai, "Do you know me?"

Agai was puzzled but replied, "Of course, I'd recognize you even if you turned to ashes—no, even if you turned to ashes, I'd recognize you!"

A spark of life appeared on the girl's pale face. Excitedly, she stepped forward, trying to grab Agai, "Then you must know my name. What's my name? What's my mother's name?"

Agai jumped back, even more confused, and shouted to everyone, "Guys, come over here, Violent Ting seems to have lost her mind. It's kind of scary!"

Tang Rou and Dafu put down their scripts and came over.

Seeing so many people, the girl retreated back into the shadows behind Qin Nuo.

"Can't be, I just talked to you after school today, you seemed normal. What happened tonight?" Atu scratched his head.

"I think you're acting, showing us your acting skills to rejoin our guild, right?" Dafu said with a knowing smile.

The girl looked at them blankly, "You all seem to know me?"

Qin Nuo watched the changes in their expressions and cleared his throat, "Everyone, she seems to have genuinely lost her memory, not acting."

"I met her in the hallway. She doesn't seem to remember anything."

Tang Rou furrowed her brows and asked, "Do you remember why you were here tonight?"

The girl glanced at Qin Nuo and shook her head slightly.

She then repeated the two questions from earlier.

Tang Rou and Dafu exchanged glances and said, "Your name is Mo Ting, you're our classmate, and the vice class monitor. As for your mother, we've never met her. The town is small, and we don't know where you live."

"Mo Ting... Mo Ting..."

Mo Ting repeated her name, trying hard to recall, hoping to retrieve some memories from it. Unfortunately, the more she tried, the more painful it seemed, as she clutched her head with both hands.

"If you can't remember, it's okay. At least you know your name now," Qin Nuo said, gently patting her shoulder.

Tang Rou and the others exchanged looks, and Atu couldn't help but mutter, "It really seems like she's lost her memory..."

Dafu crossed his arms, pondering for a moment, and said, "They say some people with amnesia can regain their memories when they see something significant or important to them. We can try to help you."

Mo Ting's face lit up with joy, "You really want to help me?"

"Of course, we're all classmates, and you used to be part of our guild, you just left later," Tang Rou said.

These simple words seemed to touch something deep within Mo Ting, or perhaps she had been imprisoned for so long that she had forgotten what it felt like to be cared for.

Her eyes turned red, and she couldn't help but grab Tang Rou's hands, gratefully saying, "Thank you so much, thank you!"

Tang Rou blinked, her expression awkward, clearly not used to such gestures from the original Mo Ting.

Behind them, Atu and Agai exchanged glances, scratching their heads, "Seeing her like this, it's really strange!"

Mo Ting noticed their discomfort and tilted her head, asking, "What kind of person was I before I lost my memory?"

"Fierce, very fierce. Once, when I didn't finish my homework, you almost twisted my head off!" Atu said with lingering fear.

Agai added, "Why do you think you got the nickname Violent Ting?"
