I Picked the Useless Class… Turns Out It's the Most Broken in the Game-Chapter 69: Reveal
Sylphaine passed through the metallic door, leaving the others behind.
Leon’s eyes remained stuck at the door, anticipating the opening of it.
But the time slowly passed by, and the door didn’t budge even slightly.
’Why’s she taking that long? She just has to unlock it.’
’Sylphaine,’
He called out to her, but no reply seemed to come back from her.
’Sylphaine, can you hear me?’
Still nothing, it felt as if she was never there in the first place.
A small sigh escaped through his mouth. "It’s not like her to ignore me,"
He closed his eyes and guided his mana through his core, letting it flow until it reached the divine core that had formed after his pact with Sylphaine.
’Her mana is faint; no good will come if I waste more of my time.’
’Darian, break the door.’
"My liege, I must advise against it. If I do so, the truth about you will not remain hidden. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
That girl is a dark mage; she will fathom it immediately." Darian said, loyalty and a faint sense of worry were buried inside his tone.
’I know all that, I took all possibilities in measure before I gave that command.’
"My apologies, my liege. I crossed my boundaries, blinded by my own short-sightedness. I will carry out your will immediately."
Leon’s expressions didn’t falter, but a thought curled inside his mind.
’So cringe... I’d die because of this cringe...’
Dark purple mana waves started to erupt through the space beside Leon, shimmering brightly as if distorting the surroundings.
Darian stepped out through the space and quickly knelt in front of Leon as he muttered. "This knight of yours greets you, my liege."
"No need to do this, complete the task because we don’t have time•
"I don’t want Sylphaine to go through something because of me." He muttered.
Darian didn’t say anything; he quickly made his way towards the iron door.
A scream rang inside the room. "What the hell is this idiotic thing, newbie!!??"
"How in the heavens are you able to do this!!??" Sylphaine said, shouting on top of her lungs.
A bead of sweat rolled down Leon’s temple, expressions darkened as he faked a smile. "What do you mean by that, Senior Synthia?"
Her hand extended and grabbed the collar of Leon. "You know what I mean, don’t play tricks on me and spit your whole truth out."
Before she could comprehend, a sword was at her throat. Dark mana poured from it in crushing waves.
Something she had never encountered, even in all her years as a dark mage.
"Lower your hand, lady." Darian’s voice fell in her ears; it was soft, but the tone had the killing intent which was sharp enough to pressurise her soul.
A wave of aura escaped through Darian’s body, brushing past Sylphaine’s body.
Her body started to tremble, fingers clenched as her entire face got drenched in sweat. "W-What’s the meaning of this, newbie!?" She asked, her tone was confused and scared.
"Lower your blade," Leon said, looking at Darian through the side of his eye.
"I gave you the task of breaking the door, we don’t have enough time on us..."
Darian bowed his head kneeled instantly. "I’m sorry, my liege."
"I overstepped my boundaries once again. Please eradicate my soul." He said.
"There’s no need for that. Complete the task that was given to you." Leon said.
Darian’s body vanished into the thin air.
Leon’s gaze shifted towards Synthia, eyeing her down slightly. "Please take your hand off my collar, senior." He said.
She stood frozen in place, but the sound of Leon’s voice snapped her back to reality. Her hand trembled as she withdrew it from his collar.
"I-I need answers... how do you know about necromancy?"
"Our grimoire had been sealed; there’s no way for us dark mages to perform the necromancy... but you? How!?"
Leon didn’t say anything for a while, but then his voice came low. "It’s not the right time for us to discuss this."
"Our priority for now should be escaping." He said, gaze shifted towards Darian.
She gulped and turned her head away instantly.
’I feel bad for her... that might have been a huge shock, there’s nothing I can do.’
’This truth was bound to come out sooner or later, and the Dark Mage Tower has the right to know about it.’
A small sigh left through his mouth, but before he could think about doing anything else.
A scream fell inside his ears, coming through his side.
His head turned, looking at the place where it came from. He noticed that Cain was on the ground, head tucked between his knees as he kept sobbing.
"Ghost!! Knight Ghost!! I’m finally dead!!" Cain said, voice shaky.
’That guy’s at it again? What can I expect from someone who’s a teenager.’
He made his way towards him and tapped his shoulder lightly. "Don’t be scared, he’s my friend."
"He’ll not do any bad to you, or me, or anyone else," Leon said, trying to assure him.
Cain lifted his head, grabbed Leon’s leg as he wiped his drooling nose with its fibre. "AHHH!! I don’t want to die, Leon!!"
Leon sighed, lifted his fist, and bonked it into Cain’s head. "Don’t cause more trouble for me, I’m already trying to figure out a way to get us out of here."
His grip loosened as he let go of him, his gaze shifted towards Darian as he said. "Are you done?"
Darian’s gaze shifted towards Leon as he gave a small nod. "Yes, my liege."
The moment he finished his words, a loud banging voice of metal came from behind.
Small pieces of the door fell on the ground; it had been cut into several small pieces by Darian.
