I Picked the Useless Class… Turns Out It's the Most Broken in the Game-Chapter 67: Poisoned
The old man returned to his counter, and food remained on the table.
Synthia’s lips parted as a small bead of drool left her mouth, eyes fixed on the food. "It’s looking so good~" she said, rubbing her drool with the back of her hand.
Cain sat in his chair, struggling to rein in the excitement that bubbled up at the thought of finally eating after the long journey.
Leon’s arms were crossed, gaze was fixed on the food. ’This looks so disgusting... how can they both be so pleased to see all this?’
The food smelled pleasant, but its appearance was not something a person from the modern world would find appealing.
Synthia’s hand moved towards the cutlery, she picked up a spoon and scooped the meat.
And put her lips on the spoon, as she devoured it whole. She licked her fingers as she muttered. "It’s so good~."
She looked at Leon, and a smile was on her face. "Newbie, you eat too. It’s good, trust me on it." She said, passing the spoon towards Leon.
He grabbed the spoon and slowly extended it toward the tray. His fingers trembled slightly; the hesitation in his movement was clearly visible.
’I don’t want to eat it... But I can’t hurt her by denying the offer either.’
He closed his eyes, let a sigh out as he scooped the meat. Bringing the spoon towards his mouth slowly, but before he could—
"Don’t eat it, master." Darian’s voice rang in his head, deep.
’Huh? What do you mean?’
"There’s poison mixed inside of it." He said.
’Poison? Are you sure about that?’
Before Darian could answer, another voice cut in on the conversation.
"Paralysis poison, and the Somnalis pill is mixed into it," Draviel said, voice deep as ever.
’Hmm... now it’s clearly understandable that why there are cold food plates, and no person in here.’
"Don’t eat it, master." A voice fell in his ears, full of worry.
’No need to worry that much, Sylphaine.’
He took a bite of the food, but before the effect of it took over him—
’Can any of you neutralise the effect of this?’
"I cannot say for certain, my lord, but I will do my best and live up to your expectations," Darian said.
All three of them fell asleep at the same time, their heads banging on the table with a low THUD.
Before falling unconscious, Leon heard the voice of multiple men.
"Are they unconscious now, eh?" Someone asked.
"They surely look like it." Another man said, touching his finger at the bottom of Leon’s nose.
"His breathing has gone a lot softer; they’re clearly asleep." He said.
Someone put his hand around the shoulders of the old man. "That was a nice one, oldie."
"These kids look decent, they’ll like it very well... and maybe we’ll get commissioned." A loud laughter escaped his mouth.
It was a vast ground covered by a large shed. Dim light seeped through the structure, casting long shadows and making the surroundings feel eerily unfamiliar.
Leon and the others lay on the floor, their hands tightly bound, cloths gagging their mouths and silencing any attempt to speak.
A voice rang inside the vast chamber, and sobbing filled the air.
"Master, can you hear me?" Sylphaine said, voice full of worry.
No reply came from Leon; his body seemed lifeless.
She clung to Leon’s arm, grabbing it tightly as her nose drooled over his clothes.
"UWAHHHHH!!"
Someone grabbed Sylphaine by the collar of her clothes and yanked her up, and said. "Give the master a bit of space."
"Let me do something to help him," Darian said, voice deep.
"Let me off!! Let me off right away!!" Sylphaine groaned, moving her limbs in anger.
Darian let go of her, as she fell on the ground—face first, and a loud BANG filled the air when she made contact with the ground.
Then, he made his way towards Leon, grabbing him by his wrist.
Darian’s mana travelled inside the body of Leon through his mana dantian.
A thought curled up in Darian’s mind.
’The pill had already jammed most of the dantian slots; it’ll be a bit difficult to make it work.’
He channeled a little more mana, this time hotter than before. It surged through his veins, burning away the effects of the paralysis.
Leon’s eyes finally opened, and he raised his hands as he rubbed his eyes.
His gaze fell on his surroundings as he muttered. "Not in that place anymore, hmm."
Then, his gaze shifted towards Darian and Sylphaine, who were looking at him with worry in their eyes.
Sylphaine’s eyes were completely welled up with tears, but the moment she noticed Leon wake up, her tears shot out through her eyes.
"UWAHHHHH!!! MASTERRR!!!" She said, grabbing Leon’s arm tightly.
He smiled lightly, patting her head slightly. "I’m fine, don’t cry anymore, Sylphaine." He said.
His gaze shifted towards Darian as he gave a small nod. "Nice work, you followed my instructions clearly."
"No, master."
"I just followed your will, my lord. You alone foresaw this and instructed me to remove the poison from your body." He said, kneeling on one knee.
’He’s doing that once again... why am I stuck with these kinds of people?’
A small sigh escaped through his mouth as a shadow knife appeared in his palm.{Leon easily manifested the weapon by using his dark mana.}
He sliced the ropes and freed himself. His gaze shifted towards Synthia and Cain, who were still on the ground.
His hand moved as he freed them, too. "Darian, neutralise their poisoning too." He said.
Darian gave a quick nod as he quickly made his way towards them.
He channeled his mana into both of them at once. Within moments, the poison was driven out and fully neutralized.
