I Outworked the Entire Cultivation World-Chapter 196 - 168: (Revised) Farewell, Moh Baichun
Exiting from the north gate of Chaotian Palace, crossing the Heaven-Piercing River and making their way through the Thousand Bamboo Sea, the group of three traveled on a flying artifact for five days before reaching the outskirts of the Ten Thousand Poison Forest.
Jiang Yuebai swapped her sect-standard flying sword for a Ninth-Grade Flying Magical Artifact that looked like a bamboo leaf, the Green Bamboo Boat—ordinary and not as eye-catching as the Flying Core Boat.
As they disembarked from the Green Bamboo Boat, Jiang Yuebai turned to see Qinn Liuniang and Wen Beijie helping each other down, perched on the same crane.
Among the many Foundation Establishment cultivators Jiang Yuebai had met recently, Qinn Liuniang and Wen Beijie were the only two she still kept in contact with, both in the Mid-Stage Foundation Establishment.
Qinn Liuniang was a typical beauty from the Chaotian Domain, with fair skin, a beautiful face, a slender waist, and long legs. She was bold and straightforward.
In contrast, Wen Beijie was refined, not considered handsome in the Chaotian Domain, but with a good temperament. He was very accommodating to Qinn Liuniang.
In the Chaotian Domain, many cultivators formed Daoist companions. As Qinn Liuniang put it, unlike sect disciples, loose cultivators didn’t have protection, so having someone by their side for mutual support was better than going it alone.
To officially become Daoist companions, a blood oath was required. If they wished to separate in the future, as long as it wasn’t due to betrayal, the blood oath could be dissolved without any restrictions.
Wen Beijie was Qinn Liuniang’s third Daoist companion, while she was his first. He cared for her deeply.
Also, Jiang Yuebai had just learned that Daoist companions need not be of the opposite sex. Same-sex best friends could also form a blood covenant to pursue the Dao together.
One after another, rainbow streaks of light arrived from various parts of the Chaotian Domain, landing around the Ten Thousand Poison Forest.
Qinn Liuniang looked up and smiled, "Everyone’s rushing to the reopening of the Ancient Cultivation Cave Mansion to fish in troubled waters, but who knows what scraps those cultivators who went in earlier will leave behind."
"Liuniang, don’t rush. Let’s take our time and see. If we can’t fish, we can treat it like an outing," Wen Beijie replied with a smile.
Qinn Liuniang teased Jiang Yuebai, "With our capsizing sister here, the outing is sure to be exciting."
"My name is Chenzhou, like the saying ’breaking the cauldrons and sinking the boats’ Chenzhou!" Jiang Yuebai retorted with mock irritation.
Qinn Liuniang chuckled, and Wen Beijie couldn’t help but smile.
Jiang Yuebai consumed an Antitoxic Elixir and used an Anti-Miasma Talisman before stepping into the Ten Thousand Poison Forest first.
The forest was dark and damp, shrouded in dark green miasma, and the air was filled with the stench of decay.
Strange flowers and herbs in a riot of colors abounded; the more beautiful and peculiar they looked, the more dangerous and poisonous they were.
The suddenly emerged Ancient Cultivation Cave Mansion was deep within the Ten Thousand Poison Forest, where the miasma was so potent that regular elixirs and talismans couldn’t resist it. Only Golden Core cultivators and above could come and go unscathed.
Most of those entering the Ten Thousand Poison Forest these days were Foundation Establishment cultivators, hoping to get closer to the Ancient Cultivation Cave Mansion to snag leftovers.
In such situations, the cave mansion would often either explode or a fierce battle would ensue inside. There were plenty of people who managed to grab treasures but had no life left to escape to safety.
Snagging leftovers meant not just picking up items scattered after the cave mansion exploded but also robbing injured cultivators and seizing treasures through murder!
Outside a swamp filled with giant flowering mushrooms and bright red cannibal flowers, Jiang Yuebai, Qinn Liuniang, and Wen Beijie hid in the shadows and watched a giant Evil Poison Frog half-submerged, inhaling and exhaling miasma.
Not far on a tree, a Colorful Scale Python flicked its tongue menacingly, ready to strike.
Qinn Liuniang anxiously asked, "Will these two creatures ever fight? Why are they dawdling? Do they want me to go up and kick each one of them?"
"Liuniang, don’t rush. Let’s watch our sister Chenzhou work," Wen Beijie reassured her.
"Yes, yes, Sister Chenzhou, use that fanning-the-flames trick on them," Qinn Liuniang urged.
Jiang Yuebai nodded and slowly spread out the Wind Net, gradually extending it towards the Evil Poison Frog and the Colorful Scale Python. The Wind Net carried Evil Qi, which would agitate the two beasts, filling them with rage.
She had been to the Ten Thousand Poison Forest many times with Qinn Liuniang and Wen Beijie, frequently inciting beasts to fight each other so they could reap the benefits as befit the fisherman.
Soon, the Evil Poison Frog’s miasmic breathing in the swamp became erratic, while the Colorful Scale Python on the tree grew restless. Suddenly, the python opened its blood-red mouth and lunged.
The Evil Poison Frog leaped into the air, but the python struck empty, its tail smashing the frog out of the air.
With a loud crash, swamp water splashed as the Colorful Scale Python bit into the frog’s leg, its muscular body coiling around the frog and twisting forcefully.
The Evil Poison Frog expelled a massive amount of miasma, shrouding itself. The corrosive miasma emitted a hissing sound upon contact with the python’s body, slowly eroding its scales.
The Colorful Scale Python fought back fiercely, its scales glowing as they repelled the miasma.
With a croak, the Evil Poison Frog’s body swelled and then contracted abruptly, using the opportunity to escape the python’s grip.
Jiang Yuebai’s Wind Net continued its work, stirring the beasts’ blood and provoking another fierce battle. They clashed violently, shaking the ground and sky as trees toppled and they fought with relentless fury.
The three watched silently from behind some bushes, waiting for the beasts to exhaust each other before each brandished their magical artifacts and launched an attack.
Wen Beijie wielded a folding fan, summoning fierce winds to clear the miasma. Qinn Liuniang swung her Big Machete, taking advantage of Wen Beijie distracting the beasts to decapitate the python in one stroke.
Jiang Yuebai wielded her spear like a roaming dragon, evading the frog’s long tongue and piercing its upper jaw. Lightning fire erupted, blasting the top of the frog’s head open as it collapsed with a crash.
"Sister Chenzhou, excellent spear technique!" 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Jiang Yuebai withdrew her spear, "Liuniang, your sword method is also excellent."
Wen Beijie watched them compliment each other and smiled silently, producing a skinning knife and donning antitoxic gloves to harvest materials from the beasts.
Qinn Liuniang observed, "The scales on this Colorful Scale Python aren’t too damaged. They can make two pieces of Antitoxic Scale Armor. The Evil Poison Frog’s poison sac can make an artifact against poisonous miasma, Sister Chenzhou, which do you want?"
"I have armor; I’ll take the poison sac," Jiang Yuebai said.
The Feather Scale Armor couldn’t prevent poison, but her Fire Evil Spiritual Body wasn’t really afraid of poison; she just took the Antitoxic Elixir to be discreet.
The Evil Poison Frog’s miasma was highly corrosive and could make an artifact specifically for breaking through defensive magical artifacts or arrays.
After processing the beast corpses, the trio continued their journey, killing any beasts they could and avoiding the ones they couldn’t fight.
As they neared the central valley of the Ten Thousand Poison Forest, the earth suddenly shook, and they quickly climbed to the highest surrounding trees.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion erupted from the forest’s center, sending a massive column of light piercing the sky.
Golden light burst forth, exploding like fireworks, scattering dozens of beams of radiance that shot in all directions like falling meteors.
Under the clear day, an illusory immortal palace shimmered briefly in the air before vanishing without a trace.
"That’s not an Ancient Cultivation Cave Mansion; it’s clearly an ancient cultivation sect relic! We’ve really lost out!"
Qinn Liuniang lamented, regretting not entering when the cave mansion first opened.
Roar!!
The roars of hundreds of beasts echoed as the relic’s aura agitated all the beasts and cultivators within the Ten Thousand Poison Forest.
Cultivators’ tunneling lights and flying beasts rushed into the sky, shooting towards the forest’s center.
"Liuniang, to avoid conflict, let’s split up. Good luck to you both!"
Jiang Yuebai quickly said, not waiting for Qinn Liuniang to object before fleeing on the Green Bamboo Boat.
Speeding along, before reaching the scene, Jiang Yuebai saw five figures—three men and two women—from the explosion center soaring into the sky, locked in chaotic combat.
Jiang Yuebai’s gaze quickly landed on a rugged female cultivator riding a Green Bull Puppet, looking exactly as she did when they first met.
Two Golden Core Masters, a man and a woman, were jointly attacking Moh Baichun. She released three spherical puppets, activating their mechanisms to unleash swarms of fly-sized insects that rushed at the two Golden Core Masters and exploded.
A sea of fire blossomed in the sky, an overwhelming shockwave sweeping everything aside, flipping over countless tunneling lights as Foundation Establishment cultivators plummeted like dumplings.
During her fall, Jiang Yuebai faintly saw the blood-covered Moh Baichun fleeing in her direction.
Falling into a pool, trees cushioned her descent. Jiang Yuebai climbed out, her spiritual energy boiling, disturbed by the Golden Core’s oppressive might.
As she emerged from the pool, she looked up and suddenly saw a chubby little toddler in a red bellyband among the poisonous mushrooms, gazing at her with big, innocent eyes.
