Chapter 43 - 43: More Clones

Her cry wakes up the other girls, and soon, they are all awake.

Their first reaction is getting away from Blaze, as they are all distraught seeing his less than welcome appearance.

Alyson wipes her tears and looks over to them.

"It's alright. He isn't one of them.

He's here to save us."

The girls look at each other with suspicion. They don't know what to think or who to trust anymore.

They were kidnapped by some random strangers or someone they know. They can't even trust each other right at this moment.

Blaze helps Alyson to get up and then turns toward the girl.

"There will be someone to come and lead you out. Don't run around, or you may encounter the people who kidnap you.

Understood?"

His voice is stern and cold, completely different from the soft attitude before.

The girls nod.

"Stay with them, Alyson. I have to take care of the rest of the criminals here."

"I understand."

Blaze turns and leaves.

Alyson suddenly grabs his cloak.

"Wait!"

"Yes, what is it?"

"Stay safe..."

Blaze pats her head.

"I will."

Then he leaves the room.

The girls look over to Alyson, all are thinking to find an answer from her.

"Who is that?" One girl says.

"That... is a superhero. He is here to decimate this goddamn place."

The hallway is full of released captives. William is at the hole that Blaze blew out, leading people to leave through it.

He found a ladder somewhere and placed it so others could climb out of the basement.

Once he sees Blaze, William hurriedly runs to him, pushing other people away.

"Master!"

Isaac is also here. He flies from William's shoulder and back to Blaze.

"Have you contacted the Liberty Sons yet?"

"I did. They said help will arrive soon."

"Good. Make sure each and every one here is released. Don't forget anyone."

"I'm on it, Master!" William says.

Blaze then shoots the Grappling Hook through the hole in the ceiling, leaving the basement.

The captives all look at him with curiosity.

One girl speaks up: "Who is that?"

"That's the person... the being who just saved you."

William answers. He, himself, doesn't actually know what Blaze is either.

The ground floor is also filled with people, most are the captives that just climbed up from the basement.

It really is chaos out here. More chaos ensues when they see Blaze. His terrifying appearance makes no good impression.

They're all trying to run away from him as soon as possible.

Luckily, there is the Pale Harpy to somewhat manage the crowd.

"Relax, everyone. He's not one of them. He's here to help us.

No need to panic. Just keep going outside.

Slowly, don't push each other!"

The people calm down eventually because Blaze doesn't attack.

He still leaves the premise anyhow, finding a more secluded room to be in. Staying may cause more unwanted problems.

He has killed a lot of people, and now it is time to spend the experience points.

[Remaining experience points: 4120]

It requires 5000 EXP to upgrade Force Blast to A-rank. However, he may use only half of that amount if he shoots himself with Lightning Strike produced by the Destruction Wand.

His body's durability is way better than before, and he has Blood Potion also, it should be enough for Blaze to survive the process.

But he doesn't know what A-rank metamorphosis may be. The S-rank Genesis Legion takes quite a while and causes Blaze to be completely vulnerable in that time.

He was in the Void, and the place was deserted. So that justified the process.

Evolving Force Blast now will be no different than a suicide.

Even though Blaze really wants to do it, he throws the idea of evolving Force Blast out of his head.

There are other ways of spending experience points that may not be so dangerous.

Blaze has lots of Genesis that he has not made yet. Their power is minimal, but he can use Soul Bound to easily make them more powerful.

He has the two best candidates right here, Hugo and Anton.

After examining their memories, Blaze was able to learn the true nature of their powers also. Super Reflex and Iron Head were simply a facade put up to trick others.

It was Hugo's idea. Blaze thinks it is a genius move. If they had revealed their true power, they may have been forced to do more than just guarding.

Hugo's actual power was Minor Temporal Manipulation. He can control the time for his own mind and body, accelerating or decelerating them.

The actual manipulated volume is very limited. Hugo can't change it too much or use the power for too long.

In the eyes of other people, this can easily be mistaken for Super Reflex or Super Speed.

Anton's actual power was Energy Dispersion. No matter what type of energy, electricity, force, or heat, he can disperse it to the surrounding area, neutralizing its power.

It's just that Anton really likes to use his bald head as a weapon, so his power was mistaken as Iron Head.

Blaze let out a chuckle when he found out their true powers. Not only are they crazy, but the usage of their power is also bizarre.

They both shared a power that can only be used between themselves.

This power was kept a secret, and the only other person who knew about this was Cavalcante.

Mutual Sharing, a power that lets Anton and Hugo apply each other's superpowers onto the other.

They can't use it on other people, only on themselves.

Hugo can manipulate the time of his and Anton's bodies, while Anton can make Hugo have the dispersion power of his body.

They can even fuse temporarily into one, with Hugo turning into pure temporal energy.

This energy enhances Anton's speed and makes him able to move like a weak Speedster. They can't run faster than sound but can do crazy moves like the Human Torpedo.

Anton's power dissipates all force, which helps the Human Torpedo to become a walking destructive missile.

The attack and defense prowess of Human Torpedo may reach B1 level and can easily cause trouble for weak A-ranks.

Unfortunately for them, they don't have any power to defend against mental attack.

[Available Genesis]

- Normal: 5 days lifespan or 50 EXP

- Shocking Force (B-rank): 5 years lifespan or 2500 EXP

- Acidic Jade (D-rank): 5 months lifespan or 250 EXP

- Werewolf Berserker (C-rank): 2 years lifespan or 1000 EXP

- Winged Dinosaur (D-rank): 5 months lifespan or 250 EXP

Blaze takes a look at the different types of clones he can make.

With Minor Temporal Manipulation, Hugo can be a beast by using a Winged Dinosaur body. This clone has wings and Steel Modification (D-rank), both of which can compensate for his weak combat power.

Anton's power can be combined with Werewolf Berserker to become an even greater menace. But 1000 EXP is way more than what Blaze is willing to spend on a servant right now.

In the end, he decides to let both of them have Winged Dinosaur bodies. They act like brothers, so let them be true brothers from now on.

Purple energy pours out of Blaze's skin.

Wasting 500 EXP, two bodies slowly materialize.

In front of Blaze now stand two naked versions of Hugo and Anton.

"Now the only thing left is..."

Blaze pulls their soul out of the Lantern. His red eyes lose their color and shine a yellow shade.

Two enslaving symbols now reside inside the souls of the Dynamic Twins.
