Chapter 81: Chapter 81 - Awakening Of Unique Weapons!

Hearing the chains rattle, the judge stopped for a moment, glancing coldly at the guards.

"Hey," one of them said, stepping forward. "What the hell are you doing?"

He drove his boot into Zion’s stomach, forcing the air from his lungs.

"Remain silent," the guard said, stepping back. "And listen to the verdict."

The judge nodded approvingly and cleared his throat again.

"I believe you intended to claim this relic for your own house," the judge said coldly, his gaze fixed on Zion. "And when you realized that you could not, you chose to act accordingly."

He straightened, his voice echoing across the courtroom.

"Therefore, I hereby strip House Arakiel of its noble status."

Internally, Zion pulled back his arm again, punching the barrier hard.

His body in the memory shook again, this time even more than before.

The judge and the onlookers frowned, watching the chains rattle.

This time, however, he did not stop speaking. "Furthermore, House Arakiel is sentenced to execution by overload."

He lowered his eyes to Zion.

Zion pulled back his arm internally, shaking from anger.

"And as for you, Zion Arakiel—"

He sent his fist into the barrier with everything he had, smashing it into countless tiny fragments.

"—you are sentenced to execution by exile to a death planet."

For a single second, the courtroom froze.

The judge’s mouth was still open, the final word of the sentence echoing through the chamber.

Not just one execution, but two.

Fragments of light hovered in the air in front of Zion, frozen where his fist had passed through. The invisible barrier that had forced him to watch moments ago was simply... gone.

Zion lowered his hand slowly, the chains rattling around him.

He glanced down, clenching and unclenching his fist.

The chains binding his body rattled violently, creaking as cracks spread through them.

"What—?" one of the guards muttered, raising an eyebrow.

Zion lifted his head, locking eyes with the judge.

For the first time since the mental test began, he felt a strange calm.

Suddenly, the chains around his wrists broke apart.

The courtroom filled with gasps. Even the guards stared at him in utter shock and confusion.

"So," Zion said quietly, having ripped off the cloth. "This is your verdict... once again."

The judge’s confident expression finally faltered, a deep frown replacing it.

"Resistance is pointless," he started, gesturing for the guards to move.

Just then, Zion stood up and raised his hand.

"This might just be a memory," he continued, his gaze sweeping across the courtroom. "But that doesn’t mean I want to sit here and listen to this again."

He tried to scan as many faces in the crowd as possible, but any face he hadn’t properly seen back then was already blurred, as if the nanosuit itself refused to fill in the gaps of his memory.

Zion turned back to the judge, narrowing his eyes. "This judgment of yours was never meant to be fair."

A low hum echoed through the air.

Above Zion’s head, nanobot material surged upward, merging together rapidly. Three fractured pieces formed above him, floating in the air. They spun in a circle, almost like some kind of broken halo.

[Congratulations,] a mechanical voice echoed through his head. [You’ve successfully awakened the unique weapon: the ruler’s halo.]

Gasps and shouts echoed through the courtroom. But the guards that were supposed to restrain him?

They stared at Zion with wide eyes, completely frozen in fear.

"Do something!" the judge shouted through gritted teeth.

But the guards remained completely still.

Zion extended his hand beside him.

A bright golden light suddenly shone from it as nanobot material gathered there too.

"Tell me," he said, staring at the judge in cold hatred. "Who was the one who set all of this up?"

The judge’s eyes widened slightly.

"I have no idea what you are talking about!" he shouted, a hint of desperation appearing as his eyes flickered to the crowd.

Zion shook his head slowly in utter disgust.

The nanobot material continued gathering in his hand, slowly shaping a massive lance engraved with countless intricate patterns. Each and every line pulsed with violent energy, radiating a pressure that made it difficult to breathe around.

[Congratulations, host,] Uriel’s voice echoed through his head in a mechanical tone. [You’ve awakened the unique weapon: Judgement Lance.]

Without even looking, Zion swung the weapon behind him.

The two guards closest to him were erased in an instant, the violent energy tearing through their bodies in the blink of an eye.

"S-stop him!"

"Kill him!"

The courtroom erupted, people jumping up to run or take action themselves.

Zion ignored them all.

He drew the lance back, muscles tensing as the patterns lit up brighter and brighter.

Zion looked directly at the judge.

"You judged me," he said, voice cold and steady. "Without truth or proof."

The judge stumbled back, horror flooding his face.

"So now," Zion continued, pulling his arm back as far as possible, "I’ll return the favor."

He threw the lance with all his might.

It tore through the air in a pillar of golden light, even cracking the space itself behind it.

There wasn’t an explosion or a scream.

Instead, everything went silent.

Only a massive smoking hole remained where the judge’s seat had been a moment earlier.

Zion stood there, breathing steadily, the broken halo above his head spinning slowly as cracks spread through the courtroom itself.

Just then, several more guards and even his previous best friend, Xera, turned the corner.

"Next time I see you," he said, watching the world fracture around him, "I won’t be powerless."

The space around him shattered into countless fragments.

They froze in the middle of the air before being sucked inward like broken glass pulled into a black hole.

[Congratulations, host,] Uriel’s voice calmly echoed through his mind again. [You’ve successfully advanced to D-rank!]

As the darkness slowly disappeared around him, Zion felt the weight of his normal body settle in again.

"Thanks, Uriel," he said, smiling slightly.

His eyes opened again, this time back in the Mercenary Guild’s room.

’One day,’ he thought. ’I’ll make what I did in that memory reality.’
