I Just Wanted to Teach Cultivation, But Goddesses Keep Coming!-Chapter 59 Pillow
Lin Feng froze, caught between exasperation and disbelief.
For a moment, he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at her words.
The situation was absurd, frustrating, and honestly unbelievable.
Lin Feng had tried this technique before in his past life on Earth... ignoring women completely but it hadn’t worked at all.
If anything, they had only ignored him even more, as if his indifference made him utterly invisible.
"An attractive face really is one of life’s greatest cheats," Lin Feng mused inside, lightly touching his own face with a wry smile.
Lin Feng opened his mouth to retort, but before a single word left him, someone intervened with impeccable timing.
Bang!
An enraged Li Tianhao stormed onto the platform, his presence explosive, as if the very air bent under the force of his fury.
His eyes burned with fury, fixed on Lin Feng as if he intended to rip him limb from limb.
"What are you doing by his side, Ning Xi? You should be on my side!" Li Tianhao bellowed, his voice booming across the Dao Teaching Platform, vibrating with raw anger.
His face was red, veins bulging along his neck, and his fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
Every fiber of his being screamed that he wanted to crush Lin Feng right there and then.
He wanted nothing more than to humiliate Lin Feng completely.
He planned to beat him so badly that he would lose control, wetting or soiling his robes in front of everyone.
"I’m not on either side," Ning Xi said calmly, though her eyes were sharp and focused.
"I just want the two of you to stop this madness. You don’t have to fight at all." She spoke as if it were obvious, but deep down she truly believed that this duel existed solely because of her.
She had a nagging guilt... maybe her shocking beauty had inadvertently provoked them to fight each other, but she refused to let anyone get hurt because of her.
"Well, it’s far too late for that," Li Tianhao sneered, his tone filled with contempt and anticipation.
"The Grand Proctor is here." His body tensed, his posture radiating the promise of violence.
He could barely contain the eagerness to humiliate Lin Feng on the platform, to strip away every ounce of pride and dignity, and to make him cry out like a helpless child.
Every nerve in his body screamed for that moment.
"Silence."
Suddenly, an old man appeared at the center of the Dao Teaching Platform.
It was as if he had materialized out of thin air... there was no sound of footsteps, no shadow preceding him.
Yet the instant he arrived, a violent gust of wind swept across the platform, rustling robes, scattering dust, and whipping hair around.
Every eye was drawn to him immediately.
The sheer presence of the old man forced the crowd to halt their whispers and chatter.
Murmurs died in the mouths of the spectators.
Even the boldest among them instinctively bowed their heads slightly, sensing an overwhelming aura that spoke of decades perhaps centuries of mastery.
His eyes scanned the platform, piercing through the chaos, and for a moment, even Li Tianhao’s rage wavered under the weight of his gaze.
No one had ever seen his shadow approach. No one had ever felt such an abrupt shift in the air.
Everyone fell completely silent. Not a single whisper, chuckle, or murmur dared to escape as the Grand Proctor raised his voice and announced the participants for today’s duel.
"Teacher Li Tianhao," the Grand Proctor called.
"I’m here, Grand Proctor," Li Tianhao replied loudly, stepping forward with a purposeful stride.
His movements were sharp, precise, and full of arrogance.
His eyes, dark and burning with fury, never left Lin Feng, and every inch of his posture screamed dominance and confidence.
The crowd could feel the hatred radiating off him, and many instinctively stepped back, sensing that even a glance from him could carry danger.
"Teacher Lin Feng," the Grand Proctor called next, his voice calm but carrying the weight of command.
"Here," Lin Feng answered, his tone measured and steady.
He walked forward with the same calm confidence of a master, hands clasped behind his back, moving as if the platform were his own domain.
His expression betrayed nothing... there was no fear, no tension, only the quiet authority of someone who had seen far too much to be ruffled by an arrogant fool.
To the onlookers, he didn’t appear to be a participant in the duel at all... he looked more like a hidden master who had come to correct a misbehaving student which confused them to no end.
Li Tianhao’s eyes narrowed, his mind already spinning with cruel schemes.
Let’s see how long you can keep up that pretense, he thought, a dark smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
He imagined the humiliation he would inflict, savoring the moment before it even came.
In his twisted mind, Lin Feng would be reduced to a quivering mess, begging for mercy, perhaps even crying loudly like a baby and hugging his thigh as he called for his mom.
He pictured Lin Feng become the laughingstock of the thousands of gathered crowd around them.
Yes... I’ll make sure everyone here remembers this day. I’ll show him the price of defiance, Li Tianhao mused, his grip on his fists tightening.
The Grand Proctor nodded solemnly before addressing the crowd and the participants, his voice carrying effortlessly across the vast Dao Teaching Platform.
"The two of you have come to settle your challenges," he began.
"Spirit Spring Academy fosters growth and solidarity through myriad ways. After careful consideration, I have judged this duel to be valid. I will now outline the conditions."
A hush fell over the audience as he continued. "Should Li Tianhao win, he gains nothing... no rewards, no titles, nothing is specified. He came here and asked for nothing in return." He paused briefly, letting the weight of the declaration settle.
"Should Lin Feng win, he wishes to..." The Grand Proctor coughed lightly, clearing his throat, and then continued a moment later, his tone carefully measured.
"...make Li Tianhao crush his own balls."
The platform erupted into stunned gasps and muffled laughter.
Even the Grand Proctor himself shook his head slightly... in all his years, he had heard far worse and far more ludicrous wagers, but this one... this one was uniquely audacious.
He glanced at the two attendants tasked with overseeing the duel, ensuring they were willing participants.
Both stood calmly, expressions confident and composed, revealing no sign of being coerced.
Satisfied, he nodded once and made the final announcement.
"The two of you have come to resolve your differences on this sacred Dao Teaching Platform. This stage does not care who is right or wrong. It does not concern itself with justice or fairness. Since you are here, it is clear that each of you believes yourselves to be in the right. You may now step forward and show us who holds the greater truth."
With that, the Grand Proctor moved back to the edge of the platform, giving the two participants the centre stage to face off, as the tension in the air became almost tangible.
