I Have Infinite Skill Points-Chapter 633 Angel Strikes Again
Upon arriving at the International Security Council Headquarters, Wang Lan stuck close to Yulia until they reached the interrogation room.
On the screen opposite them, all members of the International Security Council were present. Although it was Sunday, and ordinarily only one person would have been on duty, such a significant incident had brought all the top leaders of the International Security Council together.
"Yulia, yesterday afternoon, at two o’clock international time, where were you?"
"I was at the Palace of the Saintess, in secluded cultivation."
"Who can prove that?"
"All the nuns of the Palace of the Saintess can vouch for me," Yulia said, her face calm, showing no sign of anything unusual.
"Then... take a look at this video recording." As he spoke, a video appeared on the display, showing footage of Wang Lan fighting the blonde woman. The clip was short, mostly consisting of bursts of flashes.
After all, given Wang Lan’s and his opponent’s abilities, even a high-speed camera would struggle to capture their speed.
But with just one glance, Yulia’s expression instantly changed. WHOOSH. She sprang from her seat. Several Star Sea Realm Star Martial Warriors monitoring Yulia immediately tensed, their Star Energy Fluctuations surging.
Seeing Yulia make no further movements, they dispersed their Star Power.
"It seems you’ve noticed something?" Leo asked indifferently, propping his chin on his hand.
"The opponent used the Angelic Form, Holy Light Guardian, and War God Realm..." Yulia said, somewhat agitated.
"Apart from Holy Light Guardian, what are the other two?"
"Star Martial Skills long lost to the Heaven God Sect." Yulia’s expression was extremely solemn. "These were all once incredibly powerful Star Martial Skills of the Heaven God Sect. Mastering just one would be enough to become a top-tier human powerhouse. The Angelic Form was lost three thousand years ago, and the War God Realm was also lost within the following thousand years."
"So, is this person from God’s Country?"
Yulia shook her head. "I’m not sure."
"Then, the Star Martial Skills she demonstrated—can you perform them?" Leo pressed.
Yulia didn’t answer immediately. Her expression shifted, hesitation flickering in her eyes. Seeing this, Leo’s expression turned stern.
"Yulia, please answer my question. Can you, or can you not?"
"I can!" Yulia said, as if all strength had been drained from her.
"Didn’t you say these two Star Martial Skills were long lost? Then why can you perform them? How did you acquire these Star Martial Skills, and what is your relationship to the person in the video?"
"During a battle with the Hell Monarch a year ago, the previous Saintess used the Holy Grail to shatter the Hell Monarch’s space, causing minor damage to the Grail. While I was repairing it, I unintentionally discovered the Star Martial Skills within the Holy Grail."
"So, you’re saying you acquired the Star Martial Skills from the Holy Grail?"
"Yes."
"And her?"
"I don’t know her, and I have no idea where she came from. If I wasn’t certain I hadn’t done it and had spent the entire day yesterday in the Palace of the Saintess, I would even suspect she *was* me."
"But! We obtained a blood sample from the scene. After DNA matching, we found... her DNA is a perfect match to yours."
This result instantly caused Yulia’s eyes to widen in shock. A perfect DNA match? That meant they were the same person. Even a clone’s DNA wouldn’t be a perfect match.
"I understand, but I reiterate: it was not me. I did not do such a thing, nor could I possibly do it."
"We will uncover the truth. However, until we do, you must remain under our surveillance twenty-four hours a day. Are you willing to accept that?"
"I understand, and I am willing."
With the meeting concluded, Wang Lan became Yulia’s monitor. Within the International Security Council, only Wang Lan was capable of effectively surveilling her.
"The Angelic State involves condensing Holy Light. After rapid condensation, a qualitative change occurs. This transformed Holy Light Star Power alters the Star Power attribute of the entire Star Palace. Upon activating this Star Power, the Star Power valves between the ribs on one’s back open, and the surging Star Power forms a pair of white wings. The wings are the source of power for the Angelic State. One could say they are a variant of the Star Palace. Combat power can be assessed by the size of the wings on their back. When I use the Angelic State at full power, my wingspan is only three meters."
"Then... does the Angelic State turn one into a true Angel?"
"It does!" Yulia affirmed. "The second form of the Angelic State is Angelic Transformation, which completely changes the body, fixing it in Angel Form. The Angels of the Garden of Eden in legend were actually humans who achieved it through cultivation."
"What about the War God Form?"
"The War God Form is another application of Star Martial Skill, an alteration built upon the Angelic State’s form. After completing the transformation into the War God Form, speed, strength, and defense all reach an incredibly formidable level. She only coughed up some blood after taking your full-force punch and healed in a very short time; that’s evidence enough."
"If you faced her, what would the outcome be?"
"It would be about even," Yulia estimated.
Wang Lan smiled faintly. "So, in just one short year, your actual combat strength has reached the Star Soul Realm? That’s fast."
"Not as fast as you," Yulia replied with a wry smile.
Time slipped away. Days at the International Security Council were somewhat pleasant, yet also somewhat dull.
One sunny afternoon, Yulia was practicing yoga on the grass. Four days had passed since Yulia returned to the International Security Council.
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP—
Suddenly, Wang Lan’s phone rang. He casually picked it up. "Hello? What!" Wang Lan exclaimed, sitting up immediately. "Okay, Yulia and I will be right there."
Yulia stopped her movements. "Wang Lan, are they asking us to gather?"
"That Angel has struck again," Wang Lan relayed, presumably information from the call.
This was definitely bad news for the target but good news for the International Security Council, especially Yulia. After changing their clothes, Wang Lan and Yulia appeared in the operations conference room.
"Before we begin, I’d like to announce that the surveillance and review of Yulia have ended," Leo stated, his voice formal. "Yulia is indeed not the Angel. Yulia, we apologize for the distrust we showed you."
"It’s nothing. After all, even I would have doubted myself. Where did the Angel attack this time?"
"The target was Polk, a wealthy tycoon from White Eagle Country!" Leo continued. "The Angel directly invaded Polk’s house. After Polk called for help, White Eagle Country dispatched three Hero Club experts to provide support, but... all three heroes were killed. The Angel erased Polk along with his villa."
"Now, I need you to go to White Eagle Country to investigate this matter."
"But... wasn’t I just expelled by White Eagle Country?" Wang Lan said sheepishly.
"Nothing of the sort. That was absolutely a misunderstanding," Leo hurriedly explained.
Wang Lan, Yulia, and Jiang Xinyu immediately took a plane to White Eagle Country. The same CIA agent who had asked Wang Lan to leave last time picked them up at the airport. Seeing the man’s smile stretched wide and artificial, Wang Lan now truly understood the meaning of hypocrisy.
"Welcome to the land of freedom. On behalf of—"
"Let’s skip the pleasantries and get to the point," Wang Lan interjected.
Suddenly, a figure appeared eerily, bowing to Wang Lan before the CIA agent could continue.
"Your Excellency, Wang Lan, please come with us to the Hero Club. The Hero Club has taken over the Angel affair."
Towards Wang Lan and his companions, the white man’s expression was very sincere. The Hero Club held an unparalleled status in White Eagle Country; every Star Martial Warrior there took pride in joining.
Given this exalted status, one could imagine how the Hero Club treated other armed departments. Looking down on others was simply their default stance. In the Hero Club’s view, regardless of whether your department had Congressional support, you had to show deference to them.
What gave the Hero Club the right to be so domineering?
White Eagle Country’s seven Star Soul Realm superheroes were all honorary members of the Hero Club, and eighty percent of its Star Sea Realm experts were also members. Wasn’t that enough? Furthermore, every presidential candidate had to be approved by the Hero Club; if the Hero Club didn’t approve, the election could be invalidated and redone.
But the Hero Club wouldn’t display such arrogance or unreasonable behavior in front of Wang Lan. Arrogance was reserved for the weak; for the strong, they maintained sufficient humility. In this, the Hero Club performed even better than other armed departments.
At least the CIA would still betray a hint of a ’my turf, my rules’ attitude in front of Wang Lan, but the Hero Club welcomed him as if he were family.
Taken to the Hero Club Headquarters in York City, Wang Lan, Yulia, and Jiang Xinyu were led to the top-floor conference room. Seven people were seated in the room, but Wang Lan only recognized the bald man: the Star Soul Realm powerhouse from White Eagle Country, the superhero known as Mental Controller.
"Welcome, dear Lan. It’s been a year since we last met, hasn’t it? You’ve practically vanished this past year. What have you been up to?"
"Working at the International Security Council."
"You wouldn’t happen to be Fire Phoenix, the one who’s gained so much fame this past year, would you?" the bald man asked. "I knew it; such a skilled individual couldn’t just appear out of nowhere. Lan, I’ve invited you to White Eagle Country as a guest several times, but I could never get in touch. Your country’s wariness towards me is quite unfriendly."
Unfriendly? Don’t you have any idea why?
"Well, I’m here now, aren’t I?"
At this, the expressions of the seven individuals present turned solemn. "Lan, take a look at this first. This is video footage of the Angel in action."
The video showed three Titled Strongmen rushing towards a seaside villa. Suddenly, a streak of light burst forth, killing all three Titled Strongmen with a single punch. It was indeed just one punch. It didn’t even last a second, and the three heroes, all with the strength of Titled Strongmen, were instantly obliterated.
Then, with another strike, the Angel leveled the entire seaside villa, sending debris scattering into the sea.
"Last time it was a bank robbery, and this time an attack on a wealthy businessman. Who is this Angel, and what are her motives?"
Wang Lan and Yulia looked grave, also unable to comprehend the reasons.
"There must be a connection between the two. Have you pulled all the information on the bank and that businessman? Everything you could possibly gather—written records, news reports, everything."
"Of course. In fact, we’re already working on that."
Just then, the phone in the Hero Club’s top-floor conference room rang again. Mental Controller picked up the phone. After listening for a moment, his expression changed drastically.
"Damn!" SNAP! Mental Controller slammed the phone down angrily.
"The Angel has struck again. This time, her target was Countess Linda."
"Countess Linda? Is she also a wealthy businesswoman?"
"She’s not just a wealthy businesswoman; she’s also from an ancient noble family. You know, White Eagle Country never had many nobles to begin with. The ones that did exist were those who ruled the land before Independence Day. Countess Linda is a descendant of such nobility. She’s an internationally renowned entrepreneur, philanthropist, and collector. However, she rarely makes public appearances; most people are unaware of her existence. Her wealth is managed by a charitable foundation, and she herself has little access to the funds. I really can’t understand why the Angel would attack her."
