I have an Apocalypse City-Chapter 795 - 796: Transaction
Chapter 795: Chapter 796: Transaction
Katie’s main motivation for trading with Song Jian this time was to build a foundation for future dealings, estimating that the total value of Song Jian’s equipment would only amount to around two or three hundred thousand Doomsday Coins at most.
“No matter how much equipment he offers, I’ll pay him 30% of the market price. No, make that 50%! ” That was Katie’s original intent, but when Song Jian displayed all his equipment, her plan fell by the wayside.
“Since I’m making such a large purchase, could you please offer me a better price?” Katie asked shyly.
She initially planned to make Song Jian owe her a favour, but it now seemed that she was the one who’d owe him a big one.
After all, the value of the equipment on display was too high.
“Do you want it?” Song Jian asked with a faint smile.
...
“Of course, I do!” Katie retorted, rolling her eyes: “These must be equipment from the Fallen Angel Alliance’s Elite Team, aren’t they? As black market goods, they can’t be sold at the market price. You should offer me a lower price, especially since I’m buying it all at once…”
Katie put the favour to one side. Once she acquired all this equipment, the power of the Thorny Bird Alliance would surge significantly.
“I’ll give you all this equipment for free!” Song Jian said with a smile.
As Katie was trying to haggle and persuade Song Jian to sell her the equipment at a lower price, his words left her dumbfounded.

“Wha-What? You’re giving it to me?” she exclaimed incredulously. This batch of equipment, priced at a minimum of 3 million Doomsday Coins in the market, was enough to make an average player rich overnight.
“Indeed. Just help me with a small task and all this equipment will be yours,” Song Jian said with a smile.
Katie’s face lit up with excitement. Even if she wanted to kill Song Jian and claim the bounty of 1.8 million, an opportunity to gain 3 million Doomsday Coins was right in front of her, and she wasn’t about to let it slip away.
“Speak up! Whether it’s climbing up the blade of a sword or diving into a sea of flames, as long as it won’t get me killed, mention any request!” she assured Song Jian, patting her chest.
“I want you to defeat the Wolf Spider Demon Ritualist outside as quickly as possible,” Song Jian said, narrowing his eyes.
“The Wolf Spider Demon Ritualist?” Katie flinched and after hesitating for a moment, finally agreed: “Alright, deal!”
Then, she took out a silver Contract Scroll, bit her finger to let out some blood, and quickly wrote the contract contents. With her handprint stamped on the bottom of the scroll, she handed it over to Song Jian: “Sign this contract, and I’ll get my team ready immediately.”
Song Jian took a look and it stated that Katie would kill the Wolf Spider Demon Ritualist, and he would provide the 67 pieces of equipment worth 3 million Doomsday Coins in return.
“But there’s a time limit. You must kill it within half an hour,” Song Jian added.
“What? But that’s a Level 50 Lord BOSS!” Katie exclaimed. There were seven Level 50 Lord Ritualists in the Demon Slayer Canyon which often wanders around the Demon Guardian Temple; it was no secret in the Flame Furnace.
“Did you think it would be easy to earn 3 million Doomsday Coins?” Song Jian asked, squinting at Katie.
Katie hesitated for a moment before nodding and added a time limit to the contract.
After reading it through, Song Jian saw no problems and with his bleeding finger, printed his handprint on the contract.
Boom!
The contract spontaneously flew into the air and disintegrated into ashes in a puff of black smoke.
“Alright, I’ll gather my team!” Katie headed towards the city walls right away while Song Jian quietly watched her receding figure.
Given his current identity in the Flame Furnace, he could only take less-travelled roads and avoid encountering any NPCs or else he’d be attacked.
However, the Flame Furnace was currently under siege by monsters; the NPCs were either guarding the city on the walls or hiding in their rooms with the doors tightly shut. As long as Song Jian was careful, he wouldn’t be discovered.
It took Katie just five minutes to gather the online members of the Thorny Bird Alliance. Essentially, most players were attacking the BOSS from the city walls. As long as they dealt damage to the BOSS, they would earn Contribution Points once it was defeated.
That’s why lots of players were farming Contribution Points from the city walls, after all, the city’s artillery guns would do most of the work in killing the BOSS.
“Guys, focus on taking down the Wolf Spider Demon Ritualist!” Katie shouted in the group channel.
“Boss, the Ritualists are cunning; they’re standing too far away, we can’t reach them!” one of the players yelled back.
Katie glanced at the city walls. Currently, the ones directly attacking were all Level 35 Elite Bosses, while the seven Level 50 Lord Bosses were standing outside the attack range of the city’s artillery.
“These Bosses are cunning!” Katie cursed under her breath. She checked the time—ten minutes had already passed. If they continued like this, the Flame Furnace would be overrun before they even got to touch the Lord Bosses.
With that thought, Katie took a strong leap forwards; her cloak billowing like wings as she soared into the air, heading towards the Lord Bosses.
“Holy shit! Our boss is fearless! Is she trying to commit suicide?”
“Is she tired of attacking from the city walls and reckons it’s more fun to attack from within the group of monsters?”
“That’s too risky! Be careful not to attract the mob’s concentrated fire! Judging from her direction, it seems she’s headed towards those Ritualists…”
Katie’s actions left the players of the Thorny Bird Alliance flabbergasted. When had their guild master become so brave?
“Come closer, a bit more…” Katie muttered to herself, slowly and carefully getting closer in mid-air: “You can’t see me, none of you can see me!”
The Ritualists were all focused on the distant city walls, watching the steady decrease in the walls’ durability while the Wolf Spider Demon Ritualist had her attention occupied by sensing Song Jian’s location.
Being cautious, Katie gradually approached and soon, the Wolf Spider Demon Ritualist got into her attacking range.
The moment Katie locked onto the Wolf Spider Demon Ritualist, the latter’s brow creased as she instantly detected she was being targeted. As she looked upward, Katie was swinging her Magic Staff, and innumerable energy arrows flew towards her.
