I Have A Sword-Chapter 1670: The Boundless Master
The strongest era in history.
Ye Guan asked quietly, "Mother, the Supreme Will won't just sit back and wait to die, right?"
Qin Guan nodded. "Of course not. It's likely been making its moves long before we even noticed."
Ye Guan frowned slightly.
Qin Guan added, "But the person behind all this... they exist outside the bounds of karma. That means there's no way to trace them. Nothing leaves a mark."
She turned toward the first light screen on the right, snapped her fingers, and suddenly the screen flickered to life, revealing a series of scenes.
Ye Guan froze. He was staring at the same scenes he saw back at the Forbidden Divine Tomb.
In the images, countless Circle Breakers were gathered beneath the Ascension Battles Road. They charged forward in waves, unafraid of death.
Standing in that world was a middle-aged man dressed in crimson robes. His robe billowed around him like flames, his right hand clasped behind his back. Even through the screen, Ye Guan could feel the immense pressure rolling off of him; it was terrifying.
The red-robed man turned, his eyes piercing them—no, piercing Ye Guan. The red-robed man's gaze pierced dimensions and time to stare directly at Ye Guan.
Their gazes locked, cutting through the ages.
Ye Guan stared back, sure of one thing: the man saw him. After holding his gaze for a long moment, the man looked away, and the image slowly faded from the screen.
Ye Guan asked, "Was that the Chaos Era? The one buried in the Divine Tomb?"
Qin Guan nodded. "Yes. That was the Chaos Era. And the man you saw, he was its ruler. He was at the Ninth Level of the Circle Breaking Realm."
Ye Guan turned. "The Ninth Level of the Circle Breaking Realm?"
Qin Guan said, "That's the highest known realm in this vast expanse. In fact, the highest across everything else." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"What about Aunt Slaughter and the others?" Ye Guan asked.
"They don't follow traditional cultivation realms," Qin Guan said. "But even so, there are still limits. For example, the Three Swords are in a class of their own. Others are strong, but different."
Ye Guan nodded slightly. "I understand."
Qin Guan looked toward the farthest screen. "According to what we've found, during the Chaos Era, the strongest beings once fought a legendary battle against the Supreme Will atop the Ascension Battles Road. After that war, the entire era vanished, and they were erased from history."
Ye Guan said suddenly, "Mother, does the Supreme Will become stronger every time it resets an era?"
Qin Guan's expression didn't waver. "Without a doubt."
Ye Guan fell silent.
Qin Guan moved to the second screen and gently tapped it. The light rippled like water, then showed a new image.
A deserted town appeared. It was lifeless and silent. At its gate was a wooden rocking chair, and on that chair sat a single cloth doll.
There was nothing else.
Ye Guan frowned slightly.
Qin Guan's eyes never left the chair. "Someone is sitting in it. We just can't see them."
Ye Guan looked at her. Qin Guan explained, "This era is beyond strange. Every trace of it, relics, records, and writing were completely wiped out. All is gone without a trace. Only this town remains, and just this chair. That's all. Since we had nothing else, I named it the Third Era."
Ye Guan fixed his eyes on the chair. He could feel it too. Something... someone was watching him.
Then, as if an invisible hand had reached out, the doll was lifted. The moment it did, the screen blurred before disappearing.
Qin Guan moved to the third screen, tapped with two fingers, and another set of images appeared.
It was the Ascension Battles Road again.
This time, the surrounding lands were packed with powerful beings, not just humans, but demonic beasts and other clans, too. Two titanic beasts stood at the front.
The one on the left looked humanoid, covered in thick, star-like scales. Its horns curved like hooks, and every step it took made the world shake violently, as if an earthquake was rolling through.
On the right, thousands of meters away, the other beast was just as massive. Its fur blazed like fire. No scales, just rippling muscle and unimaginable power. Its eyes were like blades. Wherever it looked, spacetime tore apart.
These two demonic beasts charged first, leading the charge toward the Ascension Battles Road like an unstoppable avalanche.
Between them stood a man...
He was shirtless and had long hair draped over his shoulders. He wore nothing but a crude beast-hide skirt. His eyes were fixed on the distant end of the Ascension Battles Road and were filled with unshakable resolve.
Then, as if sensing something, he turned.
And his gaze sliced toward Ye Guan like a sword.
A look that cut across time itself.
Boom!
In that instant, Ye Guan's Invincible Sword Intent erupted to shield him. Though separated by countless years, that terrifying aura still pressed down on him hard.
And slowly, his sword intent began to give way.
But Ye Guan stood firm. No fear. No retreat. Only invincible battle intent burned in his eyes.
Qin Guan stayed silent beside him.
The wild man in beast hide showed a flicker of surprise as he noticed Ye Guan's sword intent. He studied him for a moment, then looked away. The crushing aura vanished instantly.
Then, in the next breath, the man shot into the sky, charging straight toward the Ascension Battles Road.
As the image followed him to the road's end, the screen shook and faded to black.
Ye Guan's face was grim. "Mother, who was that?"
Qin Guan replied, "The Hundred Races Era. A time when martial civilization reached its peak. Every clan had its own talents. That man was the Hundred Races Ruler, and he was also at the Ninth Level of the Circle Breaking Realm. He trained both his fleshly body and sword. We've managed to dig up some clues from the Hundred Races Ruin."
Ye Guan muttered, "He's terrifyingly strong."
Qin Guan smiled. "He was the strongest of that era."
Ye Guan said quietly, "I'm still far from that level..."
That pressure, though just the echo of it through time, had nearly crushed him. If he had been there in person, he might not have stood a chance.
Qin Guan added, "There were six Ninth-Level Circle Breakers in that era. Countless more at the eighth. And even so, with that kind of power, they still failed at the Ascension Battles Road. In the end, the entire civilization collapsed and was lost to time."
Ye Guan asked, "Mother, is the Great Daoist Brush Master part of the Supreme Will's side?"
Qin Guan nodded. "As far as we can tell, yes. He probably understands the Supreme Will better than anyone."
Ye Guan said coldly, "Then he dies first."
He didn't care what the Supreme Will was plotting. But the Great Daoist Brush Master? He must die.
Qin Guan laughed. "You can't kill him. Not unless your aunt and the others step in."
Ye Guan's face darkened.
Qin Guan continued, "He's... unique. His motives are unclear. Once you get to the Milky Way, you should talk to him."
Ye Guan's eyes flashed cold. "Oh, I will."
He shook his head. He couldn't stand thinking about that man. Just the thought made his blood boil.
Ye Guan looked up at the final light screen. "Mother, what about that one?"
Qin Guan's gaze grew solemn. "The Ancient Relics."
"Can we see it?" Ye Guan asked.
Qin Guan shook her head. "No. We can't."
Ye Guan frowned.
She said, "That era was sealed by a supreme divine power. It's completely inaccessible."
Ye Guan was shocked. "Inaccessible?"
Qin Guan nodded. "It's an unknowable time. We tried everything to dig up clues. The only thing we found was a stone tablet at their ruins that was engraved with two words—'Ancient Era.' There was nothing else. We even tried using the Great Derivation Technique, but it always failed. Now that you're here... maybe we can try again."
Ye Guan asked, "With the Qingxuan Sword?"
Qin Guan smiled. "Exactly."
Ye Guan took out the sword and offered it. But Qin Guan shook her head. "No, you go yourself. Dare to try?"
Ye Guan was surprised. "Me?"
Qin Guan smiled. "Yes."
Ye Guan grinned. "Sure. I'm curious too."
Qin Guan reminded him, "If you force your way into that time, it will definitely draw the attention of the top powerhouses of that era. Just take one look and get out. Don't interfere. Don't stay. That timeline is in the past, and its karma is massive, especially when the Supreme Will is involved.
"One small move could change everything, so don't do anything. Just find out if there were cultivators beyond the Ninth Level of the Circle Breaking Realm. That's all."
She paused, then added more seriously, "Don't meddle in any era. You don't have your aunt's destiny aura protecting you. Without it, karma will latch onto you. If that happens... it won't end well. Understand?"
Ye Guan nodded. "I do."
Qin Guan snorted. "The hell you do. That's why I found you a helper... He's here."
"Hehe." A low, cheeky laugh came from the side.
Ye Guan turned to look and was speechless.
A man strode over with a wine bottle in one hand and a cigar in the other. He was the embodiment of the word "rogue," and he was none other than the Boundless Master.
Ye Guan blinked. "It's you?"
"Hahaha!" The Boundless Master laughed loudly. "Punk, we meet again!"
Ye Guan greeted, "Senior!"
The Boundless Master frowned. "Senior? Call me Uncle!"
