Chapter 1358: Your Aunt Must Die!

As soon as dawn broke, Ye Guan and Diyi Jingzhao left the city, heading deep into the Suiming Ruins.

Once outside the city, they saw towering peaks rising from the ground, standing imposingly against the backdrop of the sky.

The two walked slowly along a narrow path.

Ye Guan gazed at the distant mountain range and asked, "Are the Suiming Ruins deep inside that mountain range?"

Diyi Jingzhao shook her head. "Beyond that mountain range lies Mount Tianyu. Mount Tianyu is the true entrance to the Suiming Ruins."

Ye Guan nodded. "Can we fly over there?"

Diyi Jingzhao suddenly waved her sleeve. In an instant, both she and Ye Guan vanished from their original spot. When they reappeared, they were standing atop a mountain peak.

Ye Guan looked into the distance and was immediately astonished. Not far ahead stood a strange mountain, bathed in the warm red light of dawn.

The mountain was covered with purple gemstones, which shimmered in the morning glow to create a magnificent and breathtaking sight.

Ye Guan was amazed. "Is that Mount Tianyu?"

Diyi Jingzhao nodded.

Ye Guan grinned. "Let's go take a look."

Diyi Jingzhao nodded again.

Before long, the two arrived at the foot of Mount Tianyu. Gazing at the peculiar mountain before them, Ye Guan couldn't help but exclaim, "The world is truly full of wonders."

Diyi Jingzhao remained silent, and her eyes were fixed on Mount Tianyu.

As they ascended, Ye Guan suddenly bent down to pick up a piece of gem, but Diyi Jingzhao stopped him.

Ye Guan looked at her.

Diyi Jingzhao said, "There are Supreme Emperor Laws here."

Ye Guan nodded. "I can feel them. So what?"

Diyi Jingzhao explained, "The Supreme Emperor Laws here were left behind by a Supreme Emperor from the Mu Clan, and they're here to protect this mountain. Had it not been for those laws, this mountain would have gone bald a long time ago.

Ye Guan chuckled. "I see."

Despite saying that, he still picked up a gem. However, the Supreme Emperor Laws in this place didn't react to him. Diyi Jingzhao glanced at Ye Guan, seemingly lost in thought.

Ye Guan examined the gemstone in his hand. It was a deep purple gen. It was incredibly hard, and it contained traces of a special energy. It was clearly no ordinary object.

Diyi Jingzhao was right. Had it not been for the presence of the Supreme Emperor Laws here, Mount Tianyu would have been stripped bare a long time ago.

Ye Guan stored the gemstone in his storage ring, and the two continued their ascent. Before long, they reached the summit, where a purple vortex swirled a hundred meters ahead of them.

Ye Guan observed the vortex and asked, "Is that the entrance to the Suiming Ruins?"

Diyi Jingzhao nodded. "Yes."

Without hesitation, Ye Guan walked into it.

Diyi Jingzhao glanced at the sky before following him in.

A moment later, Ye Guan and Diyi Jingzhao arrived at the ruins. Before them stood towering bronze stone pillars, reaching endlessly into the sky.

There were tens of thousands of them, and each pillar was inscribed with different images, runes, ancient characters, ferocious beasts, and strange mystical beings, as well as the sun and moon.

Ye Guan was in awe. The Suiming Ruins were truly extraordinary.

Sensing something, he turned to Diyi Jingzhao.

"There are mysterious laws here. Anyone here will have their cultivation base suppressed," Diyi Jingzhao explained. Then, she stared at Ye Guan, asking, "is it a Supreme Emperor Law?"

Ye Guan shook his head. "No, it's a mysterious force."

Diyi Jingzhao furrowed her brows.

Ye Guan approached one of the bronze pillars riddled with inscriptions that he couldn't decipher. After a moment, he looked away and gazed into the distance.

"Let's go ahead," he said.

They continued deeper inside. After passing through the forest of bronze pillars, they encountered a massive altar, towering dozens of meters tall. Four enormous beast statues stood around it. Their heads and claws were raised as if they were worshiping something.

Ye Guan and Diyi Jingzhao stepped onto the altar. A towering bronze statue of a man with his arms wrapped around a ball of fire was in the middle of it. At his feet lay a small blood-red array, and it was exuding an eerie aura.

Ye Guan was about to approach the fireball when Diyi Jingzhao grabbed his arm, shaking her head slightly. She looked at the fireball and said, "Once, a Quasi Emperor tried to take that fireball by force. The result? He was reduced to ashes."

A Quasi Emperor was burned to ashes? Ye Guan was astonished. He turned to the fireball, which looked completely ordinary.

Diyi Jingzhao's gaze fell on the blood-red array beneath the bronze statue. Her expression turned grave as she remarked, "Countless lives were sacrificed here."

Ye Guan asked, "So this is a sacrificial array?"

Diyi Jingzhao nodded.

Ye Guan frowned.

Diyi Jingzhao looked into the distance, where mist obscured the horizon. "Over there lies a river called the Suiming River. Beyond it is the forbidden zone of the Suiming Ruins. Except for Supreme Emperors, no one has ever dared to cross it."

Ye Guan smiled. "Shall we take a look?"

Diyi Jingzhao eyed him. "Are you sure?"

"You want to see it too, don't you?"

"Yes." Diyi Jingzhao nodded.

"Then, let's go," said Ye Guan.

The two left the altar and moved forward. Before long, they reached the Suiming River. The river was about a hundred meters wide, but it seemed to stretch endlessly. The water was clear, but they couldn't see the bottom of it.

There was a stone arch bridge in the distance, and the other side of the stone bridge was shrouded in thick fog, making it impossible to see what was up ahead.

Ye Guan suddenly asked, "Do you think there's a treasure at the bottom of the river?"

Diyi Jingzhao calmly replied, "Since these ruins were discovered, countless people have been here. Anything that could be taken has already been taken away."

Ye Guan was speechless.

"However, that area remains unexplored. Until now, everyone who has crossed the river has never returned." Diyi Jingzhao turned to Ye Guan and asked, "Are you sure you want to cross?"

Ye Guan inwardly asked, "Little Soul, do you sense any danger out there?"

Little Soul boldly replied, "Master, I'm invincible in this known universe except against the Three Swords. You can do as you please."

Ye Guan's expression darkened. Little Soul has gotten cocky...

But it made sense. After all, Little Soul was a Supreme Emperor.

Ye Guan looked into the distance and said, "Lady Jingzhao, I want to go there, but you—"

Diyi Jingzhao cut him off. "If you're going, I'm going."

Ye Guan turned to her and said, "You just said that it's extremely dangerous."

Diyi Jingzhao remained composed. "It doesn't matter."

Ye Guan was silent for a moment.

"Then let's go together," he said with a chuckle. Then, he started walking toward the bridge. Little Soul's words had reassured him. However, if Master Pagoda had said the same thing, he wouldn't have trusted him. Master Pagoda was always unreliable, after all.

The others behind them watched in shock as the two crossed the river.

Among them, a bald man stared at Ye Guan and Diyi Jingzhao with deep fear.

Yesterday, he had scolded his subordinates, but he was indeed harboring sinister thoughts. After all, they were people who lived by the blade, robbing and killing for survival. That lady was stunning; what man wouldn't be tempted to take her?

Still, he held back. When he saw them cross the river, he was relieved that he hadn't made a reckless move. The others were as astonished as he was.

Just then, a man stepped forward and laughed. "Hahaha, they dared to cross, so why should we be afraid?"

Everyone turned to look at the man. He was dressed in a loose, black robe, and he appeared to be in his twenties, but his strength was anything but weak. He was at least at the True Saint Realm.

That was to be expected. Everyone here was no weakling.

The young man smiled in the face of everyone's silence and said, "Everyone, this side of the river has already been explored. There's nothing left to find here, and exploring this side is just a waste of time.

"If you want to obtain great fortune, you have to cross the river. As the saying goes, 'The timid starves, the bold feasts.' If you want to obtain great wealth, then go and cross the river!"

With that, he took the lead and rushed toward the bridge.

The crowd looked at each other. They were afraid!

Was this a joke? Aside from a Supreme Emperor, anyone who had crossed the river so far had never returned. Even if there were treasures on the other side, what was the point if one would die to obtain them?

Many hesitated, unwilling to take the risk, but some were reckless. A man dressed in ornate robes laughed and said, "They're human, and so are we. Since they dared to cross, why would we be afraid? Let's go and cross!"

With that, he ran forward. Soon after, two more people stepped forward and crossed as well.

However, the majority remained where they were.

The bald man shook his head. "We're all humans? Damn it, what if they have someone backing them? How can you even compare yourself to them, you absolute buffoon!"

***

On the other side of the river, Ye Guan and Diyi Jingzhao continued their journey. After passing through the thick fog, a majestic bronze city suddenly emerged before their eyes.

Twelve towering bronze statues with a long spear in hand stood before the city gates. The city gates were wide open, revealing piles of white bones within, exuding an eerie and chilling aura.

Three ancient and mysterious characters were inscribed above the gates.

Ye Guan glanced at the bronze statues before moving toward the city.

Just then, Diyi Jingzhao frowned and said, "The laws here have changed."

Ye Guan nodded slightly.

As they approached the city gates, a deep, ancient voice echoed. "Kneel!"

The people following behind Ye Guan and Diyi Jingzhao collapsed to their knees before being reduced to mere skeletons.

Diyi Jingzhao clenched her fists tightly, and she trembled violently as if she were resisting some terrifying force.

Just then, Ye Guan grabbed her hand. The moment he did, the overwhelming force that had been pressing down on her vanished without a trace.

Diyi Jingzhao turned to look at Ye Guan with disbelief in her eyes.

Ye Guan held her hand and led her into the city. They walked over the bones and stepped inside. Upon entering the city, the ancient voice echoed once more. "To enter the Holy City, one must kneel or die."

Boom!

Countless waves of terrifying and mysterious laws surged toward Ye Guan and Diyi Jingzhao, sweeping toward them like an unstoppable tidal wave.

Diyi Jingzhao's expression changed dramatically, but the tidal wave silently dissipated the moment they neared them.

No Law could affect them!

Diyi Jingzhao turned to Ye Guan, and her face became filled with doubt. I thought he has no cultivation base?

Ye Guan remained silent. The reason those laws couldn't touch him was that he possessed the Qingxuan Sword. The Qingxuan Sword was a Supreme Emperor Sword!

"A Supreme Emperor?" The same ancient voice echoed, but now, it carried a hint of astonishment. "How did you become A Supreme Emperor without our clan's permission?"

Ye Guan held Diyi Jingzhao's hand and continued walking deeper into the city as he replied, "Probably because my aunt gave me a backdoor pass."

"Is that so?" The ancient voice sounded furious. "Then, your aunt must die!"

Rumble!

The sky was split open, and before Ye Guan and Diyi Jingzhao could react, a sword had descended into the bronze city.

"Aaaah!" A heart-wrenching scream echoed throughout the city. "Insolence! Insolence! How dare you disrespect—"

Diyi Jingzhao turned to Ye Guan and asked, "Who made that move?"

Ye Guan said nothing, simply raising two fingers.

Diyi Jingzhao was dumbfounded.

Ye Guan instinctively grabbed her hand and walked forward.

"Let's go," he said.

"But..." Diyi Jingzhao hesitated. "It's dangerous."

"Don't worry." Ye Guan smiled. "We've passed the test."

Diyi Jingzhao had no idea what to say.
