I Have a Dice Left by a God-Chapter 349 - 216: Where Did This Restless Fire Come From
Under the knights’ escort, the group proceeded to the Canon Law School base. Kundra and Li Xin walked shoulder to shoulder, the Princess by their side, while the other Grand Scholars kept the rest at a distance.
"Mr. Li doesn’t seem to be much of a talker. I thought you planned to give a lecture to the students at the Saint Grace Canon Law School," Kundra remarked with a breezy demeanor.
"I’m here accompanying a friend. Actually, the Canon Law School is more suited for laying foundations at this point. Getting too deep can easily lead to confusion of thought."
"Indeed, I was too hasty," Kundra nodded solemnly. This brand new profound truth— even the Celestial Principle Academy needs time to comprehend it— if spread recklessly and without a systematic approach at the Canon Law School, it could indeed easily cause chaos.
"Did you foresee these results after the bird publication?" Estella inquired.
Her relationship with Li Xin was rather special, so she didn’t hide anything. Li Xin chuckled, "More or less."
Though he said "more or less," Kundra and the others detected a calm confidence. This was the assurance of someone who understood the Celestial Principle, affirming their speculation, making their hearts elated.
"Thank you," Estella said softly.
"No need to be so courteous," Li Xin smiled. "Why did you come out?"
"Because of my good performance this time, father granted me permission to attend study activities at the Celestial Principle Academy," Estella replied.
Simmons and Celestia were itching with curiosity as they watched the trio whispering to each other but couldn’t hear a word. The Grand Scholars formed a wall between them, blocking the conversation.
"Mr. Li could have more interactions with Her Highness; her comprehension is excellent, a pride of our Celestial Principle School," Kundra finally chimed in. "While The Princess’ ventures outside might be inconvenient, she can often be at the Academy. Mr. Li could visit often; Vladimir’s tea is great, and I can manage to sneak some out."
Li Xin thought to himself, "Some hosts have banquets devoid of courtesy, yet they at least serve a meal. This host thinks a cup of tea suffices, blissfully ignorant of social conventions."
Li Xin did not respond, remaining aloof—an appearance deemed more genuine by Kundra and the others. A refusal wasn’t embarrassing; with Her Highness present, options were always available.
Upon reaching the base, only Simmons and Celestia were permitted inside, while everyone else was kept outside.
"Why aren’t we allowed in?" Rock was itching with curiosity outside. "Why does it seem like Brother Li is so familiar with those old chaps? Does he even understand them?"
Lancer rolled his eyes at Rock, "I don’t know whether he understands, but we certainly don’t."
Lancer couldn’t help but recall when he first met Li Xin in the Celestial Capital. Back then, he thought the reactions of his boss were quite childlike. What significant figures could possibly emerge from such an insignificant, backward place like the Celestial Capital?
Yet now, he realized he was the child. How could someone like him know Grandmaster Kundra and Her Highness, the Princess? It was unfathomable, unimaginable—an impossible connection.
The Secret Castle, indeed, was inscrutable.
Celestia approached Estella, whispering, "How do you know each other?"
"Secret," Estella laughed, "I have you to thank as well."
If not for the opportunity Celestia provided, she wouldn’t have met Mr. Gemini so quickly.
Sometimes, people need to meet. Missing the chance could mean missing a lifetime.
The Grand Scholars had already surrounded Li Xin, with Estella accompanying them, personally pouring water. As they sat down, the aura around Kundra changed. Regardless of how they managed to bring Li Xin here, he agreed; one mustn’t miss any passing opportunity.
"Sir, we’ve achieved great victory this time. Should we capitalize on this momentum?" Mordo inquired.
Speechless, Li Xin thought to himself—how could he know? He couldn’t even grasp the high-level connections. They said nothing, then asked directly about something vague. What was there to discuss? It was like fortune-telling. This was Old Fang’s domain, not his.
"Don’t think of solving all problems at once, as behind each problem is another. Problems represent contradictions; these contradictions are universal and absolute, present throughout all development processes of things, traversing every process from start to finish. As long as humans are in this world, they must inevitably face contradictions, be it within themselves or in what they face. Achieving personal goals doesn’t mean there will no longer be contradictions; the world’s truth is that one contradiction leads to another," Li Xin explained.
The base fell into silence; everyone delved into deep thought. Simmons and Celestia exchanged glances, confused as to what the Grand Scholars asked and what Li Xin’s cryptic response meant. What shields and swords was he talking about?
Estella also pondered deeply. Mr. Gemini indeed—each time when conversing, he used the simplest terms she could understand. When discussing with the teachers, it felt like a completely different experience altogether.
A indescribable force surged within Mordo and the others, but it was implicit, pulling, and not belonging to them. Kundra differed, saying, "Sir, much obliged for your counsel. This is indeed what we’ve been doing, but we were too eager for success."
"Sir, the current situation is splendid and everyone is full of confidence, shouldn’t we make the most of it?" asked Grandmaster Philson hesitantly. The academy had shown restraint for a long time, and suddenly everything seemed propitious, boosting confidence to new heights.
Li Xin understood this mindset. The Church Court’s recent concession, to him, warranted vigilance. The Church Court’s power far exceeded the Celestial Principle School’s current capacity. At least Vladimir understood this, but the others may not. Essentially, the Church Court was merely observing; occasional minor tricks were not a display of their true power. Those engrossed in the situation were often unaware.
Though it was his judgment, that wasn’t what needed to be articulated. Thinking it over, he said, "Many are eager to swiftly achieve their goals, neglecting the process of change. This is an intrinsic law of growth and progress; only by facing this process thoughtfully can one break through and attain true victory."
Kundra frowned, "Are you implying the Church Court is retreating in order to make a larger offensive?"
Li Xin was both crying and laughing, "I haven’t said anything at all."
Kundra’s expression turned extremely serious, realizing a severe issue. Recently, the internal atmosphere of the Celestial Principle Academy had overinflated, and after this victory, it became uncontrollable, leading to thoughts of replacing the Church Court soon—a dangerous notion.
"Thank you, sir, for the guidance," Kundra took a deep breath, realizing they would have to discuss the matter thoroughly back at the academy, even he had been soaking in joy and confidence, let alone the others.
But could the Celestial Principle School truly withstand a counterattack from the Church Court?
What form would their counterattack take?
They knew nothing about it!
After Kundra’s revelation, others also inhaled sharply. The Church Court might retreat, or might not at all. No one could really confront them. In truth, the confrontation so far hadn’t seen the Church Court exert its full might, whereas they had given it their all. This victory, amassed from years of effort, wasn’t achieved overnight. What was sure was after this, the Church Court would reassess the Celestial Principle School, with tactics honed over millennia, and they knew nothing about the Church Court’s plans.
Their celebration had been far too premature.
Kundra and the others left hurriedly, full of joy when they arrived, yet left with furrowed brows.
At the base, Simmons and Celestia felt clueless, "Brother Li, what on earth did you talk about?"
"If I said I didn’t understand either, would you believe me?" Li Xin spread his hands.
"Brother~ Li~, are you really familiar with Her Highness, the Princess?" Celestia asked, blinking her large eyes.
"Secret."
Infuriated, Celestia stamped her foot.
Originally hoping to crash a meal, Li Xin left instead, to avoid unnecessary complications. Simmons, considerate as always like an eagle, escorted Li Xin back to the inn, discussing only combat-related issues on the way, devoid of gossip. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Li Xin liked men as magnanimous as eagles.
The Dragon Mother, whether due to her keen scent or spotting them from upstairs, charged over from afar as the carriage door opened, bypassing Li Xin to peer inside. Upon spotting Simmons, she could no longer contain her passion and pulled Li Xin aside, half her body leaning into the carriage. Just lightly pressing down, the carriage sank slightly, "Oh, my young master, you’re finally here."
Simmons was bewildered, staring blankly at the fiery and slightly intimidating Dragon Mother, only to turn to Li Xin for an explanation.
