Chapter 146: I Just Want To Be With Him

Sean angrily pointed at Samuel’s face and said something that Megan never wanted to hear again.

"From today stay away from Megan and never see her again!" he said loudly and seriously.

That sentence shocked everyone in the room, except Samuel who had expected me to say that to him.

He understood the mistake he had made, and he knew the consequences. But of course Megan did not accept her brother’s words.

"I don’t want to! Why are you doing this again when you gave us your blessing?!" asked Megan in a tone that was incredulous and somewhat annoyed by Sean’s words.

"You can’t decide this, what he’s doing is jeopardizing your safety and I don’t want it to happen again. Being with him is not a good thing," he replied.

"Why are you saying that again? I’ve had enough of you saying that! I’ve been patient and put up with all the things you’ve said about all the guys I’ve introduced you to but you just keep rejecting them!"

Megan knew that what I was doing was for her own good, and felt that she was her responsibility as a big sister. But Megan felt that she could be responsible for her own choices because she was an adult.

"I’m 32 years old! All my friends have lovers, even their own families! It’s just that I’m still alone because everyone I’ve introduced to you has been kicked out! And now that I finally have your blessing to be with Sam, it makes me so happy. And now you’re trying to take it back?!"

Sean tried to explain that he didn’t want anything to happen to Megan. He wanted Megan to be able to enjoy her life without having to live in fear and danger with Samuel.

He felt that his initial decision to accept Samuel was a bad one, resulting in Megan ending up like this.

He says that he should never have given his blessing for Megan and Samuel to be together in the first place. He should have known that Samuel would bring trouble and pull her into a dangerous situation. Considering Samuel is part of the mafia.

"I regret my decision, because of this you are also in this dangerous situation. And that’s why I want you and Samuel to break off your relationship," Sean said.

The brown-haired man understood that his decision was a very bad thing. Especially when it came to his sister’s life and the romance life she had.

However, he still cannot afford to lose Megan someday because she still chooses to be with Samuel. For him, Megan is still the only family that has known him since he was a child. There is no other family they still have.

It was just that at that time Megan still did not want to break their relationship, even though Samuel had persuaded her.

"Maybe what Sean said is true, I’ll only keep you in danger if you stay with me. Maybe with separation, you don’t need to be in danger anymore because of me," said Samuel who did not immediately break their relationship.

"No! I don’t want it to end! I know I’m selfish, but this is the consequence of my own choices. I chose to be with him and whatever I’m going to get is a risky reward for the choice I made!"

The situation became even more tense when Sean and Megan continued to argue with each other which made Odelia immediately stop them both.

"We’re in the hospital, we shouldn’t be making a scene here. You two need to calm your minds. You two can’t make decisions with hot heads like this," Odelia said.

Then to calm her husband down for a while, she invited Sean to go out of Megan’s room, to a more open place. She took Sean to the hospital’s cafeteria to talk things over.

"I know you’re very concerned about Megan’s safety, but this also makes her feel hurt," Odelia said as she touched Sean’s hand.

"I just don’t want anything bad to happen to her! She’s the only family I have. I don’t have any other family besides her!"

Odelia nodded her head, "I understand that. It’s just that Megan is also an adult and she can make her own choices. She deserves to be happy too. If you keep doing this, it’s like you’re treating her as a child who is being restricted in her choices."

She said that she wasn’t defending her younger brother Samuel, but she felt that Megan was much more cheerful when she finally got Sean’s blessing.

Megan looked better, smiled more often than before when she was in a relationship with Samuel. And Odelia was sure that Samuel was all Megan wanted and vice versa.

"I know you want happiness for Megan. But her happiness is with Sam, and if you ask her to break up their relationship, it’s like you’re destroying her happiness."

Odelia gently squeezed her husband’s hand while looking into his eyes.

"I know you’re angry right now, but I’m sure you can think more clearly after calming yourself down. Megan is fine right now and try to think more clearly with a cool head. I know you can always make wise and right decisions," she said gently.

Sean sighed roughly, then nodded his head trying to calm down while drinking the hot tea Odelia had bought.

"Maybe you’re right, I should be able to calm my mind first before making a decision. I know Megan wants to be happy, but there must be another way for that," said Sean.

"But the happiness she wants is to be with him. Give her one more chance and you should try to accept Megan’s decision. After all, she has the right to choose what she wants for her relationship."

He nodded in understanding, still trying to calm his mind which had been rattled by the news of Megan’s disappearance earlier. Odelia continued to stroke her husband’s hand, trying to help him calm down a little.

"After all, this is the beginning of Megan’s life that will change as she said. It’s a consequence of her choices and she’s confident in what she’s chosen. We have to respect that too," Odelia said which slowly began to make Sean understand.

He took another sip of his hot tea while rethinking his decision.
