Bao Yuming replied, "I am now, but I wasn’t before. During the apocalypse, I had companions. But since we chose to fight zombies in the apocalypse, danger was unavoidable. So when we encountered some tough zombies, my companions were killed by them."
Lin Fan thought that even though Bao Yuming seemed to speak lightly, he was actually very sorrowful. After all, they were companions who fought side by side, and being killed by zombies suddenly would leave anyone far from calm.

Lin Fan inquired, knowing how much effort Bao Yuming must have put in to reach his current level of strength. Asking him to live a stable life at the Sunshine Shelter was surely not something he would want, like Huo Fen and others who knew the apocalypse was dangerous but had their own ideas and didn’t want a peaceful life.
Bao Yuming shook his head and said, "One step at a time. Oh, right, there’s something I should tell you. Be careful of the Master of Deception in the apocalypse. I encountered a strange guy recently, wearing a suit and glasses, claiming to be the Master of Deception. He wanted to invite me to join them, mentioning someone called ’King’."

Bao Yuming took the satellite phone and looked at it. "Is this for me to call you when I’m in danger?"
Lin Fan smiled, "You really are interesting."
"Sigh." Bao Yuming sighed, "The apocalypse is so dull, and I’m all alone. If I don’t have a bit of a lively personality, I’m afraid I might suffer from depression in the apocalypse."
"Hahaha." Lin Fan was amused by what he said, thinking he was truly an interesting guy.
Bao Yuming looked into the distance, turned back to Lin Fan, and said, "Care to join me for a drink? I know a city ahead where there’s a tavern with a lot of good liquor stored."
"Sure, were you maybe drawn here just to drink their liquor?" Lin Fan thought his attitude was genuinely optimistic.
"There wouldn’t be any fun if that were revealed. I’d rather say it’s for clearing out zombies instead."
Bao Yuming said with a smile.
"Makes sense." Lin Fan nodded in agreement with what he said.
"Let’s go."
"Let’s go."
The two walked side by side toward the city in the distance.
The road’s yellow dust flew about, and in the quiet surroundings, their heavy footsteps gradually grew distant, and slowly, the two of them disappeared into the horizon.
At the city’s entrance.
"So quiet, I’ve never cleared this city, and yet I didn’t expect there’d be so few zombies," Lin Fan said casually, having never been to this city before. Only a scattered few zombies were wandering around. Seeing humans appear, their violent instincts were fully triggered, and they charged at them with ferocity.
Lin Fan was about to take action when Bao Yuming volunteered to fight. Without even drawing his two blades, he simply kicked, taking down the attacking zombies one by one with his feet.
