Chapter 212: The Beast Within Part–2

Aamir staggered, his eyes wide and bloodshot.

"No... no, this can’t be real. I’m dreaming. I have to be dreaming." His voice cracked, raw with anguish. His gaze fixed on the broken body of his mother, lifeless against the burning ground.

Then his eyes snapped up, locking onto Parkh. His teeth ground together, rage consuming every inch of his being.

"You... you monster! You killed her! YOU KILLED HER!"

His crimson eyes blazed hotter, the whites bleeding away until only a predatory glow remained. His pupils warped, stretching into sharp slits like a beast’s.

The ground trembled as his aura surged—darker, heavier, a crimson storm spiraling out of control. His teeth sharpened into fangs. His nails split into jagged claws.

Hair sprouted across his arms and shoulders. His back cracked open with a sickening sound as black-crimson wings burst out, stretching wide with an unholy screech. His legs bent and reshaped, twisted into bestial limbs built for tearing and crushing.

His body was no longer human.

He was something else.

A hybrid of man and monster.

A dark notification pulsed in his system, each chime louder than thunder:

[Warning: Host losing control.]

[Warning: Sanity at critical level.]

[Chimera Form Activated.]

[Sanity: 0%]

And then—

Silence.

All sound cut from his mind. His thoughts. His grief. His rage.

Everything drowned beneath the roar of something older. Primal. Instinctive. A beastly will buried deep within him finally unleashed.

Parkh narrowed his eyes, still smiling, his voice low and mocking. "So this is your full power? Is this the form of the so-called Beastlord?"

He didn’t get to finish.

The Chimera moved.

In less than a heartbeat, the monster that had once been Aamir appeared in front of him. A single blow smashed into Parkh’s chest—so fast, so brutal—that his ribs cracked like glass.

BOOOOM!

The general was hurled backward, smashing through a ruined wall before tumbling across the dirt.

The Chimera’s glowing eyes tracked him, unblinking. But before charging again, the beast knelt down.

With surprising gentleness, he scooped Rajasvi’s body into his arms. He carried her broken form away from the flames, away from the battlefield, and laid her upon a bed of unburnt grass.

It was instinct, nothing more.

A fragment of Aamir’s last conscious wish—protect her, even in death.

Then the beast rose. His aura erupted again, crimson winds tearing the earth apart. The air grew heavy, suffocating, like standing beneath the weight of a collapsing mountain.

Parkh staggered to his feet, wiping blood from his mouth, his grin sharper than ever.

"Strong. Yes. Stronger than I thought. But in the end... you’re nothing more than a beast. Let me see—"

His claws extended, his stance shifting into attack.

"—just how far you can go before you BREAK!"

The battlefield shook as two monsters prepared to clash.

The battlefield quaked.

The Chimera—no longer Aamir—moved like lightning. His wings flared wide, every beat whipping crimson winds that shredded stone into dust. One blink—he was gone.

The next—

BOOOOM!

His fist hammered toward Parkh’s skull.

This time, Parkh reacted. His daggers flashed in a cross-guard, the impact slamming into him like a mountain falling from the sky. Sparks screamed as metal clashed against monstrous flesh. The ground beneath him cratered, stone fracturing like broken glass.

But the Chimera didn’t stop. He raised his claws and raked downward, a slash of pure force that tore the earth apart. Parkh slid back, crimson daggers sparking, his grin twisting wider.

"Yes... YES! Show me, beast! Show me your true strength!"

The Chimera didn’t answer. He couldn’t. His throat rumbled only with primal snarls. His claws blurred, each strike faster than the last—each strong enough to split steel towers. Parkh deflected, dodged, countered, but his smirk began to crack.

CRACK!

One claw slipped through, smashing across his ribs. Blood sprayed, his body buckling from the raw force.

Parkh staggered, clutching his chest. "Impossible... such raw power...!"

The Chimera loomed above him, wings stretched, fangs bared. His crimson aura pulsed like a dying sun. His claws dug into the earth, cracking it open as he leapt forward again.

Parkh crossed his daggers, snarling. "DIE, BEAST!"

Their fists and blades collided—

BOOOOOOOM!

The explosion shredded the battlefield, sending shockwaves that rattled Base Three’s walls miles away. Soldiers ducked, shielding their eyes as debris rained like meteors.

The fight blurred. Chimera’s claws carved arcs of scarlet light. Parkh’s daggers screeched against them, sparks flying, his footwork frantic. But strike by strike, blow by blow—Parkh’s guard broke.

SMASH!

A claw smashed his jaw.

CRACK!

A kick shattered his knee.

Parkh stumbled, blood pouring from his mouth, his grin gone. "You... you’re not a man. You’re a curse."

The Chimera’s pupils narrowed, his wings folding back. He crouched, claws glowing crimson, and lunged with killing intent.

"NO—" Parkh raised his blades, but too slow.

SHHHRRRK!

The Chimera’s claws pierced his chest.

Parkh gasped, blood spraying from his lips. He looked down, eyes wide as he saw the monstrous talons buried in his heart. "You... can’t..."

The Chimera snarled, ripping upward.

CRRRRRRUNCH! 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

Parkh’s chest split open. His body convulsed, then collapsed to the ground. Lifeless.

For a moment—the battlefield fell silent.

But then—

His corpse dissolved. His flesh melted into black smoke, curling into the night sky. His voice echoed faintly in the mist, mocking, twisted:

"You may kill the shell... but you will never kill me."

And he was gone.

The Chimera stood alone in the ruins, wings trembling, claws dripping crimson. His breath came in ragged growls, steam hissing from his body.

Then—

Footsteps.

His friends arrived—Raj, Seenu, Kunal, Meera, Riya—and behind them, other leaders of the resistance. They froze at the sight.

The Aamir they knew was gone.

Before them stood a monster.

A guard, trembling with fear, stepped forward. "L-Lord Aamir...?"

The Chimera’s head snapped toward him. His glowing eyes narrowed.

CRACK!

In a blur, his clawed fist shot forward. The guard’s head exploded like glass, his body collapsing in a pool of blood.

"STOP!" Raj shouted, horror in his voice.

But the Chimera didn’t hear. He couldn’t. His aura roared, his claws ready to tear apart anything that moved.

The soldiers stumbled back, terror breaking their ranks. Even Seenu and Kunal clenched their fists, unsure if they could stop him without killing him.

But then—

Riya stepped forward.

"Wait."

Her staff clattered to the ground. Her green eyes shimmered with tears as she walked slowly, carefully, toward the raging beast.

The Chimera growled low, his wings flaring. His claws lifted—ready to strike.

But she didn’t stop.

Her arms slipped around his monstrous frame, her head pressing against his back. Her voice trembled, but her words were firm.

"Don’t worry, Aamir. Let it go. It’s okay."

Her tears burned against his fur. "I’m here with you. Always. Not as a friend... not as a comrade. But as the woman who loves you."

The Chimera froze. His claws trembled mid-air. His aura faltered, flickering like a dying flame.

Riya’s arms tightened around him. Her voice cracked, raw with emotion. "Come back, Aamir. Please. Don’t let this beast take you away from me. You promised—you’d always come back."

The battlefield held its breath.

Slowly—very slowly—the Chimera’s body began to change. The black fur receded. The monstrous wings shrank. His claws dulled back into hands. His fangs shortened.

The crimson glow faded from his eyes—replaced by human tears.

Aamir collapsed to his knees, trembling, his face buried in his hands. His shoulders shook violently as sobs tore free.

"I... I couldn’t save her..." His voice broke. "I was too late..."

Riya knelt beside him, wrapping her arms around him tighter. Her forehead pressed against his. "You’re here now. That’s all that matters. You’re not alone anymore."

Raj, Seenu, Kunal, Meera and the leaders stood in stunned silence. For the first time in years, they saw Riya vulnerable—not the Archmage, not the council leader, but a woman baring her heart.

And for the first time since his mother’s death—Aamir let himself weep.

The battlefield was silent, save for the crackle of dying flames. Aamir knelt in the dirt, his body trembling, Riya’s arms still wrapped around him. His claws had fully receded, leaving only human hands—shaking, bloodied, clutching the ground as though he could hold back the grief threatening to drown him.

Raj and Seenu exchanged glances, their expressions heavy. They had seen Aamir at his strongest, but this was different. This was raw, unbearable loss.

Meera whispered softly, "Even he... even Aamir bleeds inside."

The soldiers stood at a distance, none daring to move closer. The memory of the guard’s shattered body lingered in their minds. They feared the Chimera that had appeared—but the man before them was no longer a beast. He was broken, human.

Riya lifted Aamir’s face gently, her thumb brushing away a tear. "You don’t have to carry it all alone anymore," she whispered. "Not with me here."

Aamir closed his eyes, his body finally collapsing against her shoulder. His breaths came ragged, but the storm of crimson aura was gone.

Far away—

Inside a fortress of obsidian stone and twisted bone, Zorwath sat upon his throne. His golden eyes narrowed as he gazed into a mirror of black water, watching the scene unfold.

Parkh’s smoke drifted in the reflection, vanishing into nothing.

"So... even Parkh fell," Zorwath murmured, his voice deep and venomous. A cruel smile spread across his face. "And the boy... has awakened the Chimera."

The air around him trembled, shadows bowing like servants.

"Good," he said softly, almost amused. "Break yourself apart, Aamir. Drown in your grief. The deeper your rage, the more perfect you will be... when I claim you for my own."

His laughter echoed, shaking the halls of his black citadel.
