"Vidar actually created humans, interesting." Gu Shanhai said abruptly after stuffing a corpse into his arms.

"How did he do it?" Mimir's expression also changed slightly.

This was not a good thing, as it meant Vidar's involvement with the new world was becoming deeper and deeper.

"He just did it like this!" How would Gu Shanhai know that, by tracing the vision remotely, he saw Vidar carving two humanoid wooden sculptures, and then saying three words.

And then, the wooden sculptures came to life and turned into humans.

He actually knew this scene; this was how Odin made humans.

But he hadn't expected Vidar to imitate this, and even succeed; this indeed was beyond his expectations.

"I don't really understand, why would Vidar create humans at this critical moment? It's not the right time at all." Gu Shanhai also felt some confusion about this.

The best time would naturally be after Gu Shanhai and Mimir resolved the burning World Fire and completely constructed the Double Star Celestial Structure, which would present a stable period, that timing would be most suitable.

"There's one more thing I don't get, and that's where did Wali find the ash and elm trees..."

Gu Shanhai could tolerate everything else, but this one just made him feel like a fool. Someone actually found trees in a world that's been burning for several years; don't say you're the Aesir, even the White Hat Divine Race couldn't do it.

"Perhaps, after we left, they were influenced by the new world." Mimir said.

These things indeed were full of mysteries.

Especially Vidar's sudden act of creating humans, which completely defies logic.

"Vidar once hesitated, but he was persuaded." Gu Shanhai figured the same, as the new world had everything new, naturally, it required many species.

When Gu Shanhai was present, Vidar and others couldn't be influenced, but after his departure, without his protection, everything naturally reverted to its original trajectory.

"This might just be his fate." Mimir said nothing more, because now, it's too late for anything.

Vidar was utterly bound to the new world, and not just him, Wali, and the brothers Mandi and Modhi were as well.

Furthermore, they couldn't possibly rush back for this matter because even if they did, it would be of no use, with no chance of success.

"There's no such thing as fate and destiny." Gu Shanhai dismissed this with disdain, saying it was merely the influence of the world.

Now Vidar was just like Odin once was, walking the same path.

The good news was that there was no World Tree this time to cause trouble, but the bad news was the world was on the brink of collapse.

So Vidar is worse off than Odin; he inherited a mess.

Worse still, Vidar clearly lacks Odin's powerful abilities.

After all, Odin had drunk from the fountain of knowledge and wisdom, and even hung himself upside down on the World Tree, pierced by a spear, sacrificing himself to himself, to gain the Runes, symbolized as The Hanged Man in tarot.

Besides, Odin had many other powers, far more than Vidar could compare to.

However, precisely because Odin took so much, combined with the presence of destiny and the World Tree, it made Ragnarok unavoidable.

Certainly, without these elements, Odin wouldn't have been Odin.

"It seems you know something?" Mimir asked curiously.

"Yes, I know a few things, but they're not important." Gu Shanhai didn't elaborate, knowing that even if he did, Mimir might not remember, as he had already seen obscure patterns emerge on Mimir's head.

These patterns, full of distortion, were gradually erasing Mimir's wisdom, and perhaps it wouldn't be long before he would be completely consumed by corruption, becoming a mindless monster.

"Why are you staring at me?" Mimir asked in bewilderment.

When he asked this question, the patterns on his head retreated into obscurity.

"Have you noticed your death is imminent?" Gu Shanhai asked bluntly.

"Yes, I have felt it."

"My wisdom is diminishing daily, yet I don't know where it's coming from."

"I suppose you have no way of solving it either."

Mimir's tone was very calm, feeling neither regret nor anger, as if it were perfectly normal to him.

After all, if Gu Shanhai could solve it, he wouldn't have delayed until now.

"Hmm, there's nothing I can do to solve it, and you'll have to rely on your own willpower if you want to make it." Gu Shanhai paused and finally said, "Maybe you can live a few days longer."

If you follow normal logic, Gu Shanhai shouldn't be saying you can live a few days longer, but rather that you can get through this.

Unfortunately, not only does he not play by the rules, but neither does this contamination.

"What if I shouted for help, saying I think I can still be saved, could you save me?" Mimir wasn't concerned about his impending death at all and joked instead.

"Then I still wouldn't be able to save you, just wait for death, goodbye!" Gu Shanhai replied flippantly.

Saving was possible, but the difficulty was too great, and Gu Shanhai didn't have much confidence. If he succeeded, great, but if he failed, the problem would become very significant.

Not only would he offend people without actually saving them, but he would end up losing heavily.

If he chose not to save, he would only lose Mimir, which wasn't a big loss for him.

Mimir didn't hold much value; Gu Shanhai took him along just because he could be handy and had some research value. But now, that research value was gone because Gu Shanhai had already studied Mimir.

"When do you plan to start creating the Hunting Star?" Mimir didn't continue joking but turned the topic back to the main subject.

He knew his days were numbered, and he might not even see the birth of the Hunting Star.

He still held onto a sliver of hope, though, just in case Gu Shanhai was ready to start right then.

"You probably won't see the birth of the Hunting Star. I need time to prepare, and you're running out of time." Gu Shanhai stated frankly.

To get started, it would take at least a year to prepare. Then, according to Gu Shanhai's calculations, construction would take another two years, meaning completion would take three years in total.

The delay wasn't due to the craftsmanship of the Hunting Star, but because Gu Shanhai not only had to create the Hunting Star but also perfect the Double Star Celestial Structure and related constructs like the Magic Power Tide Radiation Zone, most importantly the projection coordinates.

He was doing this to exploit a loophole and break through a bottleneck; otherwise, if it were purely to save the world, Gu Shanhai wouldn't gain much, so why bother? After all, the world's destruction wouldn't impact him much.

"That's such a pity," Mimir said regretfully.

In fact, Mimir had assessed his situation. At best, he would have about a month left before his intelligence completely vanished, and he would become lost in himself, ultimately ending up as a head without consciousness.

What happens after that, Mimir didn't know either.

After saying that, the atmosphere turned a bit heavy.

Gu Shanhai didn't pay any attention and continued working. Why should he have to comfort him when he was down? After living for so many years, if you still can't manage your emotions, then you're not cut out for this.

"I want to return to the Spring of Knowledge and Wisdom in Jotunheim. I beg you to help me."

"Bury me at the spring's bottom after I die, even though the Spring of Knowledge and Wisdom is gone now."

Only after Gu Shanhai had collected a God Race's corpse did Mimir speak up.

"Of course, no problem. What color do you want your urn to be? Given your age, it should be a happy occasion, so how about red and purple?" Gu Shanhai replied nonchalantly.

Mimir chuckled at that. "Could you engrave Yuktrahil and the Nine Realms on my urn?"

"Of course, that's no problem. My craftsmanship guarantees it'll be incredibly lifelike. I'll even mark the position of the Spring of Knowledge and Wisdom to prove your identity."

Gu Shanhai was quite generous. An urn was a small matter.

"By the way, do you want me to write an epitaph for you? I've practiced my handwriting to perfection," Gu Shanhai thought, since there was an urn, there couldn't be a lack of an epitaph.

"That's unnecessary. The Nine Realms are destined to shatter, separating my epitaph from my urn, which would be awkward," Mimir declined Gu Shanhai's offer to write an epitaph.

"Alright, what material do you want for your urn? Any taboos? I'd recommend locust wood. Maybe one day you could rise from the grave... or rather, out of the urn," Gu Shanhai mused, thinking he might as well raise a corpse.

With Mimir's aptitude, if he became a zombie, he'd at least be top-tier, and the only downside would be having just a head rather than a body. But with only a head, they could advance towards being a Flying Head Monster, essentially pursuing two paths.

"No, I think the best way is to pulverize me and scatter my ashes instead of placing my head in an urn. After all, an urn is for ashes, not for heads," Mimir suggested that the urn should be used correctly.

Filling an urn with a head instead of ashes was clearly incorrect.

"Hey, you're more reasonable than me. If you say pulverize and scatter, then pulverize and scatter it is," Gu Shanhai understood Mimir's reasoning; it was simply to prevent issues with the contamination on his body. Burning it was the best way to prevent it from becoming a future source of pollution.

Mimir didn't care much about his body. If he did, he wouldn't have ended up as just a head.

Wanting a body was simple enough; Odin could resurrect him and recreate a body without much difficulty.

Gu Shanhai had asked Mimir about it, but Mimir hadn't explained, so the matter was left unresolved.

He wouldn't demand an answer. It would satisfy his curiosity if he got one, and if not, there was no loss.
