I Don't Agree to the Terms-Chapter 1154 - 606: Fimbulwinter (Part 2)
Obviously, they first manipulated the brothers to turn on each other, yet ended up portraying themselves as the victim.
And thus, Fimbulwinter came about.
So theoretically, this thing is also part of the Ragnarok doomsday war, serving as a prelude.
"It's unbelievable that Odin would actually collect Fenrir's Winter." Mimir remarked with some emotion.
Gu Shanhai didn't show much reaction either, as gods from a mythological world, it's not that strange to collect winter.
"Can this thing really be effective? After all, although it's called winter, it should actually be more like moral corruption." Gu Shanhai knew that the true effect of Fimbulwinter was war, killings between fathers and sons, brothers, and the overall decline of social morality.
The cold winter winds blowing from all directions, were just the most insignificant part of it.
"He stored it in an ice coffin in Jotunheim, if we're lucky, we might be able to find it."
"I'm not even sure if this ice coffin can withstand the burning of these flames." Vidar hesitated a bit before saying.
Gu Shanhai glanced at Mimir, then asked: "Why is everything in your Jotunheim, can't it be spread out a little?"
"Isn't it normal for winter to be in Jotunheim?" Mimir replied, after all, it is the realm of the Frost Giants and Mountain Giants, the environment itself is extremely harsh.
"Ah? I guess it makes sense, if it weren't burnt to the ground by fire." Gu Shanhai quipped.
"Before heading to Jotunheim to retrieve Fimbulwinter, I must first find Wali, Mandi, and Modi. I saw their surviving figures from the Supreme King's seat." Vidar said.
This Wali, is not Loki's son, but Odin's son, Vidar's brother, the god of gardening and vengeance, they share the same name.
The thing about this vengeance is a bit strange, as he became an adult on the first day of his birth and then avenged the God of Light Balder by killing the Dark God Hoder with a bow and arrow.
North Europeans abhor kin-slaying, and Wali, not yet washed, could be considered part of Odin's family or not, so he could kill Hoder, who was also Odin's son.
Even if Loki's machinations were involved, it was still the Dark God Hoder who acted.
"They're actually still alive!" Mimir originally thought they were long dead.
"Yes, so we..." Compared to the Fimbulwinter sealed in an ice coffin in Jotunheim, Vidar cared more about his brothers and nephews.
"We'll split up, Gu and I will go to Jotunheim to get Fimbulwinter, while you go find Wali and the two brothers Mandi and Modi."
"After you find them, head all the way south, a small patch of the new world has appeared there, and we'll meet up there."
Mimir interrupted Vidar directly.
He didn't care about the life or death of Wali and the others, now was the critical time to save the world.
Even if Vidar died while searching for these four, Mimir didn't mind.
In that instant, Vidar understood Mimir's meaning, after a long silence, he nodded: "Alright, we'll meet at the southernmost point of the world."
His original intention was to go faster by using Poison Dragon Hodnig, which would also increase the survival rate of these three Aesir members.
But Mimir had a different opinion.
So they weren't arguing over where to go first, but rather about who should own the Poison Dragon Hodnig.
Vidar's concession didn't mean he lost, but that he understood one thing, which is that Poison Dragon Hodnig was controlled by Gu Shanhai, and without Gu Shanhai speaking up, it meant he leaned towards Mimir.
And indeed, compared to the three Aesir, Gu Shanhai would definitely choose Fimbulwinter.
"I hope you arrive safely." Mimir looked at the departing Vidar and finally spoke.
But Vidar returned to his usual silence, without replying, walking further into the flames.
"Looks like you've offended him." Gu Shanhai remarked.
"I haven't, Vidar understands us, otherwise he wouldn't have remained silent." Mimir said.
"Alright, if you say he understands, then he understands. Shall we set off?" Gu Shanhai didn't mind, having known the location of the ice coffin containing Fimbulwinter, which Vidar mentioned before leaving.
"Let's go, quickly, or else if Fimbulwinter melts in the flames, we might not find such a suitable artifact to put out the fire again." Mimir was more anxious than Gu Shanhai.
Gu Shanhai summoned the nine-headed Poison Dragon Hodnig, and then the two left Asgard for Jotunheim.
The journey was smooth, without any problems encountered, and conveniently, Gu Shanhai collected various corpses along the way.
"Come to think of it, are the bodies of the races of the Nine Realms always so resilient? The flames that can burn the World Tree can't even reduce the bodies to ashes." Gu Shanhai quipped.
Hodnig watched as Gu Shanhai kept stuffing corpses in his arms, its eyes almost turned red; these were supposed to be his.
"I don't know about these matters, the Destruction Branch is Sutert's treasure, why does it have such magical effects, you should ask the Fire Giant King." Mimir replied.
"I would, if he weren't dead already; where can I find him to ask? Aren't you the Wisdom Giant, how do you not know this either?" Gu Shanhai also teased.
"The one who knows these things is the Wisdom Giant Mimir, not me, just a head Mimir." Mimir teased back.
In the process of chatting with Gu Shanhai, he gradually figured out the logic and patterns of Gu Shanhai's speech, testing and eventually adapting a set of corresponding expressions.
Even if he didn't understand the puns, he could play along.
When he himself was teased, he knew how to tease back or self-deprecate to build rapport.
From previous interactions, he also knew Gu Shanhai didn't mind these things.
"Ah, so the logic that Lu Xun and Zhou Shuren have no relation stands." Gu Shanhai didn't expect Mimir to achieve the famous capture of Lu Xun.
"Although I don't know who Lu Xun and Zhou Shuren are, I bet that's an interesting story." Mimir, seeing Jotunheim gradually approaching in the distance, felt increasingly tense, though he didn't show it.
Gu Shanhai however, noticed, so he quickly diverted the topic.
As Poison Dragon Hodnig advanced, they soon arrived at the location.
"This should be the place, so shall we start digging?" Gu Shanhai looked at Poison Dragon Hodnig.
This meant it was to dig.
Asking Mimir to dig wouldn't be appropriate, since he's just a head.
As for Gu Shanhai? He wouldn't bother lifting a finger due to laziness.
Luckily, the ice coffin containing Fimbulwinter was buried deeply, or it might have melted.
Through sensing, Gu Shanhai also noticed that the underground temperature here was different from other areas, which indicated Fimbulwinter was still present, if it weren't, there wouldn't be such a large temperature difference.
Under Gu Shanhai's command, Poison Dragon Hodnig reluctantly began digging.
"Dig faster, or you'll get the whip."
"With your complexion, you'd make an excellent hand picking cotton in the cotton fields."
Gu Shanhai couldn't help but remark.
Mimir didn't join in, instead focusing intently on Poison Dragon Hodnig's actions, wanting to see the integrity of Fimbulwinter as soon as possible.
Hodnig was large, so naturally, it dug quickly, extracting heaps of soil at once, even more efficient than an excavator.
As time passed by second by second, the results soon came.
"Found it!" Mimir exclaimed immediately, also feeling relieved.
Soon, a chill surged out, dispelling the surrounding flames and heat.
