I Don't Agree to the Terms-Chapter 1028 - 540: Reversal, Prelude to the Cleanup
The task itself is to clear out all the ghosts, and zombies are just one type of ghost, only in a different form.
Their killing of zombies would disturb the Grey Mist, then be besieged by the Boss leading to failure, so the biggest challenge is to either clear all zombies in an instant or do so without disturbing the Grey Mist.
Currently, they are choosing the former, opting for a one-wave strategy.
"It should be ending soon. With the concealment method I bestowed on him, the Grey Mist won't be able to perceive him at all." Gu Shanhai glanced into the distance once more.
The Grand Heaven-tier certainly isn't in danger, and Gu Shanhai still needs him to stall the Corpse King.
He could kill the Corpse King and the Grey Mist in one move, but why make such a big show?
There's no benefit or profit from it; instead, it would bring unnecessary trouble.
Gu Shanhai's plan is quite simple; it's to swoop into the Ghost Sanctuary after the plan begins and pack up what the All Ghosts Survival Platform left, leaving the rest to others.
Even if the two can't beat the Boss, it wouldn't be too late to clean up after they're dead.
So much help has already been given; originally, they would have been eliminated after the third stage. They've been supported so much; if they can't win, Gu Shanhai can't keep supporting them indefinitely unless they pay more.
But given these two's economic situation, maybe only the Grand Heaven-tier can afford to shout for more money; Shura probably can't.
Five minutes later, a figure rushed out from the Grey Mist, then headed towards them.
"Phew~ It's done!" Grand Heaven-tier wiped the sweat from his forehead, watching the progress of the Reversal Array's channel inside, feeling incredibly tense.
After all, if it were discovered, he could announce his exit from the instance on the spot.
Grand Heaven-tier is neither Shura nor Gu Shanhai, so naturally he can't beat the Grey Mist Boss.
"What are you afraid of? We're outside covering you. If there's a problem, we'd definitely save you." Gu Shanhai teased.
Hearing this, Grand Heaven-tier's face darkened: "But what if it's too late?"
"We'll give you a proper burial." Shura added from the side.
"Lucky I ran fast, otherwise you'd be building me a grave." Grand Heaven-tier also joked to integrate into the group, then asked, "So can the Reversal Array be activated now?"
"It's already started, just needs some time." Gu Shanhai glanced and said.
"How long? We're running out of time." Grand Heaven-tier was a bit anxious, especially since this concerns his Tai Sui Gu.
Gu Shanhai held out three fingers.
"I get it, three seconds left." Grand Heaven-tier instantly understood Gu Shanhai's implication.
"A promising student." Gu Shanhai nodded, and the three seconds passed in a flash.
The three of them felt a ripple beginning to connect, finally transforming into beams of light shooting straight into the sky.
These beams interlinked, forming a giant array that encapsulated the entire city within this array's cage.
During this, they heard a furious roar, which belonged to the Corpse King.
Not for any other reason but because the beam shot upward from beneath his throne while he happened to be sitting there. One can only imagine what happened.
"Get ready, the Grey Mist is waking up." Gu Shanhai said this to Shura.
The sky, already murky, now grew even grayer, dimming even the light beams from the Reversal Array.
"Not that fast, it's just half-awake. Not a single zombie is dead yet; it won't be that quick." Shura knew the Grey Mist was the source of the zombies.
As for the Corpse King, he's just a larger head among the zombies, with credit to the All Ghosts Survival Platform; otherwise, he'd never have such a status.
"The array has begun." Grand Heaven-tier said, not needing to worry about the Grey Mist; he was more focused on the Reversal Array.
With the array's light forming a massive network, the zombies began to dissolve, akin to melting ice cream.
Puddles of flesh and blood wriggled on the ground, ultimately absorbed by the array's network.
At this point, the zombies weren't dead, merely forcibly transformed, and the next steps involve processing, refining, and other procedures to eventually become Zombie Crystals.
This process also takes time, a total of ten minutes.
Under normal circumstances, ten minutes isn't long, but now it's quite protracted for Grand Heaven-tier, especially with the Corpse King angrily searching for the culprit and the Grey Mist Boss half-awake. If a single zombie dies in the process, he'll face a storm of crisis.
"You two handle it for now; I'll take a quick trip back." Grand Heaven-tier suddenly said.
"Sure, you go ahead, we've got this here, but don't forget to stall the Corpse King." Gu Shanhai didn't stop him, knowing full well what Grand Heaven-tier intended—a simple precaution to guard his Tai Sui Gu from any unforeseen issues midway.
After Grand Heaven-tier left, Gu Shanhai glanced at the sky and said, "Then let's each attend to our roles to avoid any incidents halfway."
After saying that, Gu Shanhai didn't let Shura respond before gradually fading, moving towards the Ghost Sanctuary.
"Everyone acts nonchalant but are actually very anxious." Shura remarked, seeing this.
"But I too must prepare properly."
Shura also understood that this time it would be a tough battle, and he'd have to use unfamiliar equipment, even if its attributes and effects far exceeded his usual gear.
...
"Finally back, it didn't go well this time." Grand Heaven-tier couldn't help but bitterly smile, knowing his attitude was poor, but fortunately, no one minded. Otherwise, the original plan would not have been executed: "Who knows what kind of outcome this situation would lead to."
Regrets, of course, there are, but if given another chance without prior knowledge, he would choose this path again. What do others' preferences and aversions have to do with him?
The world revolves around profit, particularly for him, a player.
Ascending from the bottom to the top tier, the experiences he's gone through are far beyond what someone like Shura, who reached the top tier through talent, can comprehend.
Without seeking profit, he wouldn't be able to support Cui Yingying or sustain his abilities.
He also didn't worry about a negative impression or reduced affinity, for none of them started with such things. As long as there's strength and shared profit to be split, even if they disliked his attitude, they'd still amicably pat each other's backs, unless the cake was gone, then they'd just offer superficial courtesy.
"It's here, the first Zombie Crystal."
After waiting for ten minutes, Grand Heaven-tier looked at the array located at a central, secure spot, where crystals were being condensed.
Without hesitation, he released Tai Sui Gu.
At the center of the array, a blood-red crystal slowly spun, surprisingly large, about the size of a human head.
The nearby Tai Sui Gu detected the presence of the Zombie Crystal and grew restless, but Grand Heaven-tier forcibly suppressed its instincts, otherwise, it would have already pounced to feed.
Such an act wouldn't be tolerated by Grand Heaven-tier, as interference or damage to the array would not only hinder Tai Sui Gu's power-up but also ruin all plans.
Thus, he had Tai Sui move away, then stepped forward to fetch the Zombie Crystal, personally feeding it to Tai Sui Gu.
After feeding the first Zombie Crystal to Tai Sui Gu, apparent changes occurred on Tai Sui Gu's body, with crimson lines emerging visibly.
Through the panel, Grand Heaven-tier could see Tai Sui Gu's level and attributes continually rising, with new skills and talents being acquired.
"The living class system of *** must have reached its peak." Grand Heaven-tier muttered to himself quietly, deeply admiring Gu Shanhai's boldness and capability, something beyond the reach of ordinary people.
