The silence in Valen's underground workspace stretched uncomfortably long. The middle-aged Fiendgod instructor stared at Levi in exasperation.

He cleared his throat and said.

"Well then, here are some documents you need to sign, security protocol for anyone who's done time in dimensional containment."

Valen produced a row of documents and said.

"Sign here, here, and here. Blood signature on this one. "

Levi's gaze focused in the document and he signed them.

Valen reached into a dimensional pocket and withdrew a familiar object. It was Levi's holo watch.

"Here," Valen said, placing it beside the stack of forms.

Levi glanced at the watch but kept signing the document.

It was then Warden Valen noticed something and his pupils shrank.

'The air around this kid… killing intent!'

He had been distracted which was why he didn't notice it in the first place. But now, he couldn't even ignore it. The killing intent was too overwhelming!

It was as though Levi was an oven except that he wasn't radiating heat but pure overwhelming killing intent!

Valen had been a Fiendgod for over two centuries now and had fought countless battles and had killed dimensional beasts and humans alike.

He was very familiar with killing intent but never in his 200 years had he seen someone with this much killing intent!

Only this Generals at the ancient frontlines possess killing intent as thick as this and was cultivated through several centuries and countless death.

Of course most people leaving the Hellfrozen Abyss carried killing intent with them as one couldn't survive a day in that nightmare without killing, and killing typically left its mark.

But they weren't always this thick!

Others were like a fleeting perfume, his was choking like one who had poured an entire bottle of perfume on himself.

It was suffocating.

Valen found himself frowning. Just how many people had Levi killed?

With this much ominous aura, it was clear Levi dabbled in something that had to do with souls.

Valen massaged his temples, feeling a headache forming.

If Levi had killed enough people to generate this kind of aura, the population inside the Abyss must have dropped significantly.

The Warden frown slightly and couldn't imagine what Levi had gone through. While it was true that he was overseeing the prison, there were too many terrifying existences within the prison that needed 24 hours surveillance otherwise if they managed to escape the academy would be in turmoil.

"You should work on restraining your killing intent. If you walk around like this, you're going to cause problems."

Levi's hand paused mid-signature. He looked up, meeting Valen's gaze for the first time since they'd started. His eyes were dark, emotionless. After a moment, he nodded once.

"I forgot," Levi said simply. Then he closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

Valen watched with interest as Levi's expression became more focused. His breathing shifted as he inhaled and exhaled.

The oppressive aura began to compress as they withdrew slowly into his body.

It was as though someone was turning down the Volume of a speaker.

After about thirty seconds, Levi opened his eyes and released a turbid breath.

He had used his asura bloodline as the core, letting it absorb the slaughter intent.

But even then, he wasn't able to suppress it fully, making it leak out from him like a drop of water constantly dripping from a tap.

Of course he wouldn't be able to suppress everything as it was already who he was, who he had grown to be over the past six months.

Warden Valen sighed. It still wasn't enough but it was alright. It wasn't his problem anyways. He'd done his duties and the rest wasn't up to him.

"Finish signing," Warden Marcus Valen said, gesturing at the remaining documents.

After a while, he collected the completed forms.

"Your sentence is complete. Your record's been updated. Welcome back to the academy, Student Levi "

Levi wrapped the around his wrist. The device activated immediately, recognizing his biometric signature and syncing with the academy network. Immediately, hundreds of several notifications popped up from his watch .

He ignored them all.

"Is there anything else?" Levi asked flatly.

Valen gestured toward the door. "You're free to go. Same guards who brought you down will escort you to the surface. After that…" He shrugged. "You're on your own."

-----

The two Fiendwarrior guards were completely stiff as they escorted Levi outside.

Even with the retracted killing intent, the two guards felt as though knives were pressed again their necks. They couldn't breath properly and found excuses as they fled.

Sunlight. It was the first thing Levi noticed. The magnificent golden rays of energy radiating off his pale skin was incredible.

Te second thing Levi noticed was the restraint against his Astra energy loosening.

He felt as though he was carrying three mouths in on his back previously but as he exited the underground place, the burden was lifted!

"Pheewwwww!"

Levi exhaled deeply as Astra energy slowly circulated around his almost dried up meridians, revitalizing his cells, muscles, bones, blood and flesh!

It was indescribable. Having been suppressed for six months, Levi dint expect it to feel this good. The feeling was similar to edging but a thousand fold better. It was as though he had been edging for a thousand years and then released when the time was right!

Levi let his muscles and body soak in Astra energy as the energy in the environment trickled into his body.

If his Astra talent had been higher, a massive whirlpool of Astra energy would have formed around him but sadly…

Levi stood still, letting his eyes adjust.

The academy hadn't changed at all and was still the same as he left it.

Nothing had changed.

He opened his holo-watch, checking date and time. Friday, late afternoon. Six months and three days since his incarceration exactly matching his sentence with no extra time.

The watch also showed his location on the campus map. He was in the Disciplinary Enforcement Wing, eastern edge of main campus. His assigned residence, the Elite Class student apartment was roughly two kilometers northwest.

As he walked, Levi began noticing that there were a lot more students moving and going from one place to the other.

Definitely more of them around than he remembered from six months ago.

Levi pulled up the academy calendar and scanned recent announcements. Nothing immediately jumped out until he noticed a note scheduled for two weeks from now:

"Elite Student Tournament Assessment - Preliminary Rounds Begin."

Ah. That explained it.

The Elite Student Tournament was one of the academy's major competitive events, held twice yearly. "

More importantly, tournament rankings directly influenced a student's standing within the academy hierarchy.

With the tournament two weeks away, naturally everyone was training intensely, trying to squeeze out every possible improvement before competition began.

Levi felt… nothing about this. No excitement, no anxiety, no competitive fire.

He'd worry about it when the time came.

Right now, his only goal was reaching his house, taking a real shower with actual hot water and soap, and sleeping in an actual bed for the first time in six months.

As Levi continued toward the Elite Class residential area, students moving in the same pathway from him would unconsciously move away from the road.

Anytime they neared him, they would feel the air become heavy and goosebumps rising from their skin as their chest tighten. Not only that, they could feel their necks being pressed an

invisible sharp object!

The only way to stop them was to move away and that was what they unconsciously ended up

Doing.

Levi noticed but didn't particularly care.

The Elite Class residential area was organized by rank—highest-performing students received the best apartments, while lower ranks got progressively less luxurious accommodations

Various students noticed Levi but they didn't immediately recognize who he was. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Eh? Isn't this Levi?"

"Levi who was imprisoned in the Hellfrost Abyss?"

"Wasn't his sentence supposed to be six years? How come he's here now?"

"Six years or sixty years?! You all should get your facts right!"

"What the hell is he doing? Isn't that Martina's house now?"

"Wait a minute, that's the place he used to stay. I guess we are in for a good show."

The spectating students that were passing by suddenly stopped as they discussed amongst each other.

More and more students gathered as they stared directly a Levi.

When Levi reached his door, he clicked on the holo watch to open the gate but then frowned when nothing happened.

The door's indicator light was green, not red. Green meant occupied. Red meant vacant.

Someone was inside his apartment.

Levi's expression darkened. While he'd been gone, had the academy reassigned his residence?

Only one way to find out.

He pressed the doorbell. A soft chime echoed inside, followed by movement. Footsteps echoed from within and a voice called out also. "Coming!"

The door opened, revealing a young lady who looked to be in 17. Athletic with a high cheekbones, sharp eyes.

Her cultivation aura revealed her as a Peak Level Genetic Soldier, standing right at the threshold of breakthrough to Fiend Warrior realm.
