I Can Transform Into Any Monster-Chapter 36: Alice’s Mother
Chapter 36: Alice’s Mother
Most people wouldn’t sell the Spirit they got, let alone give it to someone else.
They thought Alice would use the Spirit for herself which would practically overcome her weakness in terms of defense. Finding spirits like this wasn’t easy either, let alone Tier 2.
Even finding a location like theirs was already a great fortune.
However, Alice gave it to a Spiritless Awaken who wasn’t even her family.
One thing crossed their minds.
Their relationship might not be as simple as somehow they became lovers and Alice’s actions were actions to help her lover.
Not that they wanted to think this way, but anyone who saw this would think that way.
"Do you have any interest in other people’s business?" said Alice in response to Walker’s question.
"It’s nothing like that, but it’s hard for anyone not to be curious considering you’re probably the most popular young woman in Velos 33," Walker replied with a chuckle.
"I’m sure everyone will be surprised when they find out," he added.
"Well, that’s none of my business," Alice replied.
She turned and took a step away.
Once the spirit had entered one’s body, it was impossible to take it away.
If Walker tried to obstruct them again, it would only mean he was challenging them to a fight.
Luis followed Alice without paying much attention to Walker.
It was supposed to be just a trip for the two of them. Unfortunately they met other people so things got complicated.
They climbed the mine shaft. Without the obstruction of the Black Titans, it wasn’t difficult.
"You know, Mr. Zarion chose to give the Black Diamond Armor Spirit to you because he hoped that you could be a shield for the other members during difficult missions," Alice said after they arrived at the top of the mine.
Luis who heard that spontaneously rolled his eyes.
He knew that, such a precious spirit given to him, the failed prince obviously had certain desires.
"It’s just that, our organization is very loose. Mr. Zarion doesn’t have absolute control with most members being Velos residents, so you don’t have to worry so much. You can accept an assignment if only the reward is too attractive for you. Otherwise, you don’t need anything, but for the business of fighting the empire, you’d better help," Alice added.
She reminded him that to fight the empire, he shouldn’t be lazy because it’s about freeing his own world from colonization.
Luis just nodded his head without saying anything.
Not long after, they were already in the car and zooming back to Velos 33.
Luis regretted the fact that they didn’t take the Monster Cores.
Alice didn’t seem to want to waste their time there.
It was just that, when they entered the city, Alice suddenly turned onto a rather small road, only fit for two cars.
She didn’t go back to school right away.
Luis didn’t know the destination, but this street had the feel of the past as it hadn’t really been developed with many old buildings on the roadside and large trees lined up neatly.
It was very crowded as there were many small alleys filled with houses.
Not long after, she stopped the car in front of a shop selling traditional snacks.
It was guarded by a middle-aged woman who looked very beautiful despite her simple appearance where her figure was tall and graceful while her skin was pure white, having long black hair.
When looking at the woman, Luis couldn’t help but think of Alice because of how similar they looked.
’Is she her mother?’ He wondered.
"Just a moment," Alice said before getting out of the car with quick movements.
She then walked over to the middle-aged woman who was staring at the car curiously, looking like she realized there was someone else in it besides Alice and it was a man.
"Alice, why don’t you invite your friend to come in," the woman said to Alice.
Despite being in a closed car, Luis could still hear her voice faintly as his hearing had improved sharply along with the increase in his strength.
"Mom, I’m just stopping by for a while, let’s go to the house first," Alice replied, trying to pull her mother’s hand to the house behind the shop.
"Ohh, Alice, I’ve never seen you in a car with a man, why don’t you show me the man," said the woman again with a strange smile that seemed to tease her daughter.
She clearly had a suspicion that her daughter was getting close to a man and might start building a deeper relationship.
Even she also suspected that her daughter had already started dating the man, but she thought the biggest possibility was that she was just starting to get close like her first suspicion.
Regardless, she couldn’t help but be happy that her daughter had started to mature yet hadn’t started dating.
Alice rolled her eyes at her mother’s words and expression.
"Mom, he’s just a friend at my school who happens to have a partnership with me so we went together," she said.
"Hahaha, who’s older here. I have more life experience than you. The excuse you’re making is too unconvincing," replied the woman whose name was Isabel.
Unlike Alice, her personality was clearly very cheerful. It didn’t disappear even though she was already in her 40s.
As for Luis, he scratched his head when he heard their conversation.
It seemed that no one had not misunderstood his relationship with Alice.
Of course, if he were in the audience’s position, he would probably also think like people.
Alice began to forcefully pull her mother’s hand into the house so that the latter was helpless.
She was unable to resist her daughter’s strength.
Their figures soon disappeared from Luis’ sight as they passed through the door at the back of the shop which was the door to the house.
He was not sure why Alice chose to go home first and pull her mother into the house.
Since this had nothing to do with him, he could only wait.
After a while, they finally came out of Alice looking helpless as her mother, Isabel, stepped towards the car.
It seemed that she was forcing Alice to let her see the man in the car.
Knock! Knock!
The woman tapped on the windshield next to where Luis sat.
He naturally lowered the windshield immediately, unable to let her continue knocking.
"Ohhh..." She instantly made an observation as his figure appeared in front of her.
Her eyes moved up and down as she observed him.
Occasionally, she nodded her head.
"Alice’s taste is not bad, exactly like mine when I was young," she said.
Cough!
Alice spontaneously coughed at that while Luis was unsure how to react.
When he looked at Alice, she gave him a look as if she wanted him to explain.
She already seemed unable to say anything to explain this to her mother.
If Luis wanted to, he could really make things difficult for Alice, but he knew it would only damage their relationship.
"Ehmm!" He cleared his throat.
"Madam, Alice and I are not what you think. We’re just school friends," he said.
Maybe if he said it, she would believe him.
However, she only chuckled.
"Don’t be a shy guy, young man. But don’t worry, I won’t push you too much with Alice to open up soon, after all, your relationship still seems to be undergoing development, it hasn’t reached that point yet. Well, next time, visit more often," she said.
She then returned to her shop, letting them go.
Alice quickly got into her car before driving away.
Her expression was somewhat awkward as she drove, something that rarely appeared on her usually calm face.
"I’m sorry, my mom is such a fussy woman," she told Luis as she began to calm down.
"Maybe she just wants to see you happy," Luis replied.
When he said that, he wanted to scratch his own head, realizing that his words were somewhat wrong.
It sounded like he was saying that if she wanted to be happy according to her mother, she could be his lover.
Fortunately, the woman didn’t seem to care about his words.
Her eyes had already begun to focus forward with an expression that made it difficult for people to guess her thoughts.
On the highway, she was driving quite fast.
But as it turned out, her destination was still not their school.
She actually stopped in front of a large entertainment venue that was inside a building with ten floors.
Even Luis knew that this was the biggest and most luxurious entertainment venue in Velos 33.
It was said that you could have whatever fun you wanted as long as you had enough money.
They not only provide drinks and djs, but also other entertainment.
The workers were predominantly local high school or university students while the patrons consisted of local rich people and residents of the Flying Star Empire.
Luis of course knew that there was no way Alice was planning to visit this entertainment venue to entertain herself.
After all, she was not that type of woman. It was even said that she was against alcohol and disliked music that was too loud.
She clearly had a special purpose in this entertainment venue.
