Chapter 379: Trouble In Otherworld

Victor’s eyes finally opened.

"...Enough."

He exhaled and for the first time since he began suppressing, Victor stopped resisting.

He focused everything inward.

Every wisp of qi.

Every ounce of pressure.

Every fragment of spatial authority granted by the Void Emperor Bloodline.

He didn’t let it explode outward.

He funneled it all into his dantian.

The world seemed to tilt. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

Inside his body, something ancient and fundamental began to shift.

> [BREAKTHROUGH SEQUENCE INITIATED]

Realm Transition: Nascent Soul → Soul Transformation

Warning: Energy output exceeds standard parameters

Victor’s Nascent Soul trembled.

Cracks spread across its surface as it shedded like a cocoon splitting apart.

Golden-white light burst from within as the Nascent Soul began to melt, reforming into something far more abstract. No longer a static entity, it started to flow, stretch, and resonate with Victor’s consciousness directly.

Soul and will blurred.

Dantian and mind overlapped.

Victor’s aura surged.

The cultivation chamber shattered.

Stone walls cracked outward as pressure waves slammed into the formations, forcing elders across the sect to stiffen in alarm.

"This pressure—!"

"Someone is breaking through!"

"No—this isn’t a normal breakthrough!"

Within the chamber, Victor’s hair lifted as if underwater with white strands floating as void-aligned qi twisted around him in spirals.

Soul Transformation Realm wasn’t merely about strength.

It was about becoming.

---

Meanwhile, high above the fractured wastelands of Earth, Gojo flew through violent winds with his massive wings beating rhythmically.

The massive crack that tore across the land like a wound that never healed still went further into the distance. They still hadn’t reached the end of it and the space in between the cracks remained pictch black. No light reached its depths.

Victor’s original body lay secured against the raptor’s back, unconscious but stable.

Beside him, Eirene sat calmly until she suddenly stiffened.

Her eyes widened in both astonished and confusion.

"...What is this?"

A suffocating wave of pressure rolled through the air, causing the clouds around them to spiral violently. Frost magic she had been sustaining flickered as the ambient energy spiked unnaturally.

It wasn’t mana and she had no idea what qi was so she didn’t know what she was feeling.

Her breath hitched.

"Is he... getting more powerful?"

She could feel it.

Her primal instinct told her that the being she was bound to had just crossed an unseen threshold.

Even Gojo roared uneasily and his wings faltered for a fraction of a second as the pressure brushed past him.

Without warning, something colossal burst forth from the darkness of the cracked earth beneath them.

A creature unlike anything Eirene had ever seen shot out of the abyss with impossible speed. Its body was elongated and segmented, covered in black, chitinous plates etched with faint red lines that throbbed like veins.

A massive, circular maw lined with rotating teeth opened and bit down.

The creature’s jaws clamped around the frost raptor’s side, tearing through feathers, hide, and muscle in an instant.

Blood exploded into the air.

"Grrraaauuhhhh!"

Gojo screamed letting out a sound so loud it shattered nearby rock formations.

His massive body lurched violently as pain ripped through him and his wings lost rhythm.

Frost burst outward instinctively, freezing the air around the attacker but the creature didn’t let go.

It twisted, ripped and Gojo’s balance broke.

The sky tilted.

Eirene’s eyes widened in shock as the world inverted.

Gojo roared again with his wings flailing desperately as altitude vanished in seconds. The creature released its grip, falling back toward the crack below but the damage was done.

Victor’s body shifted as gravity claimed them.

His unconscious form and Eirene were thrown free, tumbling end over end as Gojo spiraled away in a spray of blood and frost.

Victor felt it.

Not as pain at first—

but as wrongness.

A sharp, tearing sensation stabbed through his chest, distant yet unmistakably real, like a needle piercing flesh through layers of fog. It was faint, muted by the overwhelming torrent of energy surging through his body, but it was there.

His brow twitched.

Inside Ascendant Realms, within the shattered cultivation chamber, Victor sat unmoving as the breakthrough continued but a ripple had reached him.

"...That was my body," he realized grimly.

The connection between his consciousness and his original form was not severed. It never truly was. It was only shifted, layered across realms through the Void Emperor Bloodline. When something harmed one, echoes reached the other.

And that echo had just screamed.

Victor’s first instinct was to withdraw... to abandon the breakthrough, tear his consciousness back through the void, and return to his original body.

But the moment the thought surfaced, cold logic crushed it.

He couldn’t... at least not right now.

The breakthrough had passed the point of no return.

His Nascent Soul was no longer intact... it was dissolving, reforming into a Soul Transformation state. Pulling out now wouldn’t just interrupt the process.

It would shatter it.

Internal injuries.

Meridian collapse.

Foundation regression.

At best, he’d drop back to mid Nascent Soul Realm.

At worst?

Permanent damage.

Victor clenched his teeth as he felt a rush of pain flicker through him.

"Hold on..." he muttered to himself as the breakthrough carried on, completely oblivious to how grave the situation was.

Golden-white energy surged as his soul continued to evolve, ignorant of the catastrophe unfolding elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Eirene moved the moment she and Victor’s body were falling uncontrollably through the air.

Without hesitation, her eyes burned dark.

A palm of condensed shadow shot forward and darkness wrapped around Victor’s unconscious body like living silk, halting his fall mid-air and yanking him violently toward her.

She caught him against her chest.

"...master..." she whispered not knowing if he could hear.

Below them... the world erupted.

From the massive crack that tore across the Earth like a festering wound, movement surged.

Tens of thousands of tiny black shapes poured upward like a living tide, blotting out the sky as they swarmed with shrill, chittering cries.

Each creature was no larer than a human head with malformed and insectoid bodies. They also had eight spiky like limbs and glowing red pinprick eyes.
