I Can Assimilate Everything-Chapter 640: Glory I
At the glorious and terrifying feat that Achilles managed to accomplish, the serpent eating its own tail roared with defiance and immensity that shook the entirety of the First Sea.
The sound was not merely noise but authority given voice, Chaos screaming its refusal to accept what it was witnessing.
"YOU KNOW NOTHING OF CHAOS!"
The Groundskeeper’s obsidian form uncoiled with speed that should have been impossible for something so massive. His tail whipped toward Achilles with force that carried Declaration woven into its very motion.
All that stands before Chaos shall be scattered.
The attack descended with weight that made the previous pressure seem gentle by comparison.
Achilles raised his palm, its surface shimmering with incandescent multicolored light that radiated the authority of his Inner Dominion. The tail struck his hand with impact that sent shockwaves rippling across the obsidian sky, but his figure did not move.
The Groundskeeper’s eyes blazed with fury that transcended rationality.
"This is Chaos! The edge where complex systems thrive and adapt, the transition zone between pure order and complete disorder where the most significant shifts occur!"
His coils twisted as another segment of his body struck downward with Declaration embedded within.
The boundary between states belongs to Chaos alone.
"For eons I walked that edge while maintaining the Seas of Tian! I balanced order and disorder so that THE entities could cultivate without being consumed by either extreme! Every correction I made, every Corrupted Growth I purified, every entity I guided toward their proper path, all of it was the mastery of that transition zone!"
Achilles’s other hand rose to meet the descending coils, gray and multicolored light of Assimilation wrapping around his body like armor forged from consumed realities. His expression remained calm and silent as shining multicolored palms caught obsidian scales without yielding.
The Groundskeeper’s form writhed with rage that demanded expression through violence.
"I know everything about Chaos! Everything! What do you know?! What can you possibly know?! Chaos shows itself in fractals and self-organization! Even in apparent disorder, systems display underlying repetitive patterns, self-similarity that reveals the hidden structure beneath randomness!" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
His head lunged forward with jaws that could swallow stars, Declaration burning in his throat.
Pattern recognition belongs to those who have studied Chaos for eons.
"I have watched these patterns unfold across ages beyond your comprehension! I have seen how the Corrupted Growths emerge in configurations that repeat themselves across scales too vast for lesser beings to perceive! I have traced the self-organizing behavior of authority as it flows through the Nine Seas, predicting where corruption would bloom before it even began to form!"
Achilles caught the lunging head with both hands, multicolored radiance flaring against obsidian scales as the impact created craters in reality itself and caused the sea below him to churn!
His feet did not move. His stance did not waver.
He said nothing.
The Groundskeeper’s fury reached heights that made coherent thought difficult to maintain.
"You think you understand what you have stolen? You think a partial Claim gives you the right to speak of Chaos as if you comprehend its nature?"
His entire body coiled around Achilles now, constricting with force that should have crushed mountains into dust. Declaration layered upon Declaration as he squeezed.
What Chaos embraces, Chaos consumes.
What Chaos claims, Chaos keeps.
What Chaos destroys cannot be rebuilt.
"I have utilized these weavings across my entire existence! When THE entities grew too powerful and threatened the balance of Tian, I introduced calculated disorder to humble them! When stagnation crept into the Nine Seas, I seeded chaos to spark evolution! Every intervention was precise application of principles you could not begin to fathom!"
Achilles stood within the constricting coils with expression unchanged. His body radiated light that pushed back against the crushing pressure, his Inner Dominion feeding him weight that exceeded what the serpent could exert!
And The Groundskeeper, seeing that even this was not enough, reared back with final desperate fury.
His jaws opened wide.
Deep within his throat, Chaos gathered in concentrations of immensity. A storm of chaotic breath built with pressure that made the surrounding reality buckle and distort!
All that exists before my breath shall cease to exist.
The Declaration launched with the breath as a billowing torrent of pure Chaos erupted from the serpent’s jaws. It consumed everything in its path, golden waters and obsidian sky and the very fabric of space dissolving before its advance!
It struck Achilles with force meant to end arguments permanently.
And he floated within the storm.
He continued to pull from the immensity and weight of his Inner Dominion. The Blind Depths anchored his existence. The Realm of Assimilation fed him authority that had consumed countless beings. The Realm of Chaos, ironic as it was, provided resonance that let him understand what was trying to destroy him.
The breath attack raged around him for moments that felt like eternities!
And then it faded.
And Achilles stood tall and glorious as he came out of the final attack of The Groundskeeper entirely unscathed. His multicolored jade radiance had not dimmed. His expression had not changed. His stance remained exactly as it had been before the battle began.
He looked at the exhausted serpent with eyes that held something approaching pity.
"You rage on and on about edges and fractals and self-organization as if these... are the essence of Chaos."
His voice emerged calm despite everything that had just occurred.
"But that is not the fundamental truth that makes Chaos what it is. I have a Claim on Chaos. I know what Chaos is."
BOOM!
The Groundskeeper’s obsidian eyes widened as Achilles continued.
"Chaos is not about patterns within disorder. It is not about balance between states. It is not about predictable unpredictability or organized randomness or any of the shit you have built to contain something that refuses containment."
His multicolored radiance pulsed with authority that came from somewhere deeper than Depth. He thought about...his Assimilation.
He could make Chaos whatever damn he wanted it to be.
"Chaos is... hunger. Chaos is the refusal to remain static. Chaos is the drive to consume what exists and transform it into something new. Every pattern you see within Chaos is merely the trail it leaves as it devours the old to birth the new."
He took a step forward, and the exhausted serpent actually retreated.
"You have tended gardens for eons. You have maintained balance and prevented excess and guided entities toward their proper paths. But tending is not the same as embodying. Maintaining is not the same as becoming."
His eyes blazed with light that held all the colors his Assimilation had ever consumed.
"Chaos does not want to be tended. It wants to consume. It wants to transform. It wants to become more than it was by taking what others have built and making it part of itself."
He raised his hand and pointed toward The Groundskeeper with gesture that held finality.
"I...understand you."
...!
The Imposition was a unique one. Only three words. Nowhere near as grand as a Declaration.
And what did he hope to accomplish by merely exerting across Existence that he understood The Groundskeeper?
Even THE Resplendent Paradox watched on calmly, her contradictory features holding curiosity as she wondered where all of this was leading.
THE Corpse Hierophant and the others in the distance held their breath, uncertain what an Imposition of understanding could possibly achieve against a Fundamental Depth entity.
But nobody here, apart from the distant figure of Rose who remained seated with the astonished Endless Dream, nobody here knew that Achilles simply needed to understand the scope of something defined and undefined.
And he would be able to do something utterly catastrophic to it thereafter.
The battle was as good as over.
The Groundskeeper... simply did not know it yet.
