I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!-Chapter 80: Warm Hands on a Fevered Night (1)
"How can you be that stupid?!" Calen scolded him again. "I’m supposed to be the stupid one here!"
Roxanna pressed her lips together. She hadn’t expected him to proudly volunteer for that role, but she didn’t have time to think about Calen right now. Luan needed help first!
"Oh, shut up," Luan muttered weakly, his voice barely louder than a whisper.
"The demon Fenrir must have used dark magic," Zeir said calmly. "That’s why Luan’s healing ability isn’t working properly." He glanced at Roxanna, lowering his voice. "His healing ability will catch up eventually, but we don’t know how long that will take."
Even though Zeir didn’t say it directly, Roxanna understood that he was asking for her blood.
Without even hesitating, she nodded. "I’ll give him my blood." Then she turned to Calen. "Help me bring him to my room."
Calen didn’t complain. He lifted Luan and carried him inside. Luan hissed under his breath when Calen accidentally brushed against his wound, but he didn’t make a fuss about it.
Blood continued to drip from his chest, and every time air touched the injury, it burned like fire.
"Calen, bring me some water," Roxanna said softly. "Zeir, get him clean clothes. Azul, please help Cyrus."
"I’m fine," Cyrus said quickly. "Just help Luan. Really, I’m fine."
"You’re not fine at all!" Roxanna snapped, unable to hide her worry anymore. "Look at your arms! You’re bleeding, Cyrus! You were scratched by the Demon Fenrir too, weren’t you?!"
Instead of answering, Cyrus turned his head away, embarrassed to admit it. "I should’ve stopped him from going into the ravine," Cyrus said quietly. "It’s my fault."
"Oh, stop whining," Luan said, eyes closed. "I was the one who decided to go down there, and you saved me. Just remember that."
"Alright, that’s enough talking," Roxanna said gently, placing her hand on Luan’s burning forehead. "You’re burning up."
She picked up the stone knife she had set aside earlier.
But before she could cut her skin, Luan grabbed her hand in panic. "I’m fine. Maybe I just need three or four days to heal, really, I’m fine."
Azul looked between the two of them and said gently, "Luan, that wound probably contains deadly poison. That’s why you have a fever. This isn’t something you can ignore."
This was exactly the kind of moment when Roxanna knew she had to use her blood. But Luan still couldn’t accept the idea of her getting hurt because of him.
"Luan," Roxanna leaned closer until her face hovered only inches from his, so she could look into his emerald eyes. "I won’t get sick just because I give you a little blood. This is different from before, when I healed many people in one day. Today, I’m only helping you, so I won’t overdo it."
"Please let me help you," she whispered. "Let me make you feel better... so one day, you can take revenge on that Demon Fenrir."
Luan clenched his teeth, then finally said, "Fine. But don’t... don’t use too much blood on me."
Roxanna smiled softly. "Just trust me."
With his permission, she carefully cut her arm. She hissed a little at the sting, but honestly, it didn’t hurt nearly as much as it once had when she was still human.
"It’s going to sting," she warned him softly.
Then she let her blood drip onto his wounds. Within seconds, the torn flesh began to close, as if invisible threads were stitching his skin back together.
Luan gritted his teeth against the pain, so Roxanna placed a cloth between them so he wouldn’t hurt them. But because of the poison, the wound on his chest healed more slowly than the others.
"You’ll be okay soon," Roxanna whispered, her voice full of relief and care.
After a few minutes, his wounds were finally completely healed, but his fever still hadn’t gone down. Roxanna began to think that maybe she should let Luan drink her blood, but Azul suddenly said, "That’s enough. He’ll be fine." He looked at her seriously. "Luan’s healing ability alone is enough to fight the fever."
"You did great," Azul added gently. "Thank you for helping him."
Roxanna let out a slow breath of relief. Her hands were still trembling slightly, and only then did she realize how tense she had been the whole time.
Once Calen and Zeir returned with water and fresh clothes, Roxanna gently cleaned the last traces of blood from Luan’s skin and helped adjust his clothes so he could rest more comfortably.
"Let him rest," Azul said softly. "Once the poison fades, his body will cool down."
Roxanna bit her lower lip, glancing at her husbands with a little hesitation. "I know a lot happened today... and honestly, I wanted to sleep with all of you tonight. But... I think Luan needs me the most right now. So I wanted to ask, is it okay if I stay here with him for the night?"
For a moment, none of them spoke. Calen and Cyrus exchanged looks, while Zeir and Azul watched Roxanna’s face quietly. They could all see the worry in her eyes, the kind that came from the heart.
Zeir was the first to nod. "Of course. Stay with him," he said gently. "He’ll rest easier knowing you’re here."
After handing them a warm blanket, the others quietly left the room. Roxanna had already moved the reward bed into her bedroom before this, so now she could finally use it together with Luan.
The 120×200 cm bed was a little small for two people, but honestly, it wasn’t that bad. And since Luan no longer had any open wounds, she could lie close to him without worrying too much.
Even so, Roxanna still hesitated. What if she disturbed him?
"Luan, do you want me to leave you alone?" she asked softly. She laid a warm cloth across his forehead and gently brushed his hair aside. "You might sleep better if you rest by yourself."
"No."
Luan suddenly reached out and caught her wrist, his hazy emerald eyes slowly opening so he could see her.
"Didn’t you promise to let me sleep with you tonight?" he murmured. "I’m just collecting that promise."
