Chapter 750: Chapter 749: The Newcomer

Beisitian tightly embraced the three little buns, nuzzling one and then the other; she truly missed these little ones dearly!

At the door, Mrs. Qin smiled as she watched this scene. She had received Tian Zhi’s call in advance and was waiting at the door because the children would cry and fuss occasionally since they hadn’t seen their mom during this period.

Mrs. Qin knew what Beisitian was doing out there and tried her best to take care of the three children and the household to keep Beisitian from getting distracted. Thankfully, Luo Xudong didn’t have much to do recently, so with him around, the children weren’t too troublesome.

Although Luo Xuping was a teenager, he had been sensible since a young age. After school, once he finished his homework, he would play with the three little buns, allowing Mrs. Qin some spare time.

Beisitian led the three little buns towards the small courtyard. It was only upon returning home that she could feel at ease and allow herself to relax.

Wei Zhongxun, with his hands resting behind his head, walked directly towards the small courtyard, while Tian Zhi beckoned to Jiang Mingzhong and Jiang Xin, following behind.

Seeing two unfamiliar faces, Mrs. Qin glanced at them a couple of times.

Having heard Beisitian call Mrs. Qin "mother" just now, Jiang Mingzhong speculated that she was probably Beisitian’s mother-in-law. Tian Zhi whispered a couple of words, confirming Jiang Mingzhong’s guess.

Seeing how close and at ease Beisitian and Mrs. Qin were with each other, Jiang Mingzhong understood that their relationship was excellent, and naturally, he was very courteous and respectful to Mrs. Qin.

It was Jiang Mingzhong’s first visit to a big city like Beijing. Jinbei City was not a first-tier city; it thrived on tourism, with a slower pace of life and excellent greenery, and there were few vehicles on the streets.

Beijing, however, was different. Its bustling avenues and busy streets, filled with people coming and going from alleyways, all indicated a much quicker pace of life and work.

As soon as he got off the car, Jiang Xin stayed close to Tian Zhi; now, Tian Zhi, as his big brother, was his lifeline while going out.

The group entered the small courtyard, and the gate was closed behind them. Besides Gao Ma, there were two new household helpers, one about the same age as Gao Ma, in their late forties, referred to as Du Ma, and another in their mid-thirties, with the last name Mo.

Mrs. Qin called her Little Mo, and the younger ones called her Sister-in-law Mo.

Upon entering the room, there was another unfamiliar face, a woman in her early thirties, looking quite pretty with her apron on, standing in the hall. Her almond-shaped eyes widened as she saw Beisitian and the others walk in.

"This is Xiao Wang, a temporary worker introduced by Sister Ma from directly across the alley to help with cleaning and such," Mrs. Qin said with a smile.

Previously, Beisitian had planned to find another helper as she was often not at home. She was concerned that Mrs. Qin might not handle everything alone, especially since she left in a hurry. Zhou Quan hadn’t found anyone yet. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

Coincidentally, Sister Ma mentioned she had a relative from the countryside looking for a job in Beijing and had asked Sister Ma to keep an eye out for opportunities.

Sister Ma thought of how Mrs. Qin’s daughter-in-law had three children and frequently went out, making it difficult to manage everything alone, so she came over to discuss this matter.

Sister Ma hoped Mrs. Qin would try this arrangement out; they could offer the minimum wage, and if it worked well, they could keep her, and if not, they could let her go without issues.

Since Mrs. Qin and Sister Ma often discussed planting vegetables in the yard and sometimes shopped for groceries or picked up the children from school together with a few other women of similar age in the alley, they were familiar with each other. It would be awkward to refuse, so she planned to let this person try out for a while and change if it didn’t work out.

Thus, Wang Xueqin came to help out in the small courtyard.

Wang Xueqin’s almond eyes roved over Beisitian and then the others. With Mrs. Qin’s introduction, she quickly stepped forward to relieve Beisitian of her bag.

"I heard you’d likely return around this time, and the hot water is already boiling. Aunt Qin told me you like light tea, so I’ve already prepared some for you," Wang Xueqin said respectfully.

Beisitian nodded, "Thank you."

"It’s my duty. Feel free to let me know if there’s anything you need. If there’s nothing else, I’ll go sweep the yard," Wang Xueqin wiped her hands on her apron, then bowed slightly before leaving.

Mrs. Qin watched Wang Xueqin leave the living room and said, "I intended to wait for Xiao Zhou to find someone, but then Sister Ma mentioned this, and I thought since we’re looking for help anyway, we might as well try it. Little Tian’er, you can decide whether she stays or goes."

In such matters, as long as the helper is easy to work with, there’s no need to hesitate over politeness. If it’s really not suitable, they need not keep her.

Beisitian nodded with a smile, "I understand, Mother. What about Dad? Is he still at the calligraphy and painting shop?"

"Oh, he practically lives there now. He drops off Ping’an in the morning and goes straight there, only coming back after picking him up in the evening," Mrs. Qin said with a slight annoyance.

Mrs. Qin didn’t really blame him. Luo Anguo managed the shop so diligently just to earn more money. For things like hiring extra help, Luo Anguo could then pay without having to ask Beisitian for money each time.

Even though they are very close, repeatedly asking for such matters would make Luo Anguo feel awkward and uncomfortable.

What’s more, the three children needed new clothes every year, and without some money on hand, would the grandparents have to ask their son and daughter-in-law for it?

That would make them seem very inadequate as grandparents.

"Mother, this is Elder Jiang, and this is Jiang Xin; they are from now on one of us," Beisitian said with a smile.

Regarding the Qingyu School matters, Beisitian had talked to Luo Anguo and his wife, but they both found it too complicated to understand and felt as long as Beisitian assured them everything was fine, then it was fine.

Therefore, now Beisitian simply said they were ’one of us’.

"If you don’t mind, I would like to call you Sister-in-law Qin. Doctor Bei is a benefactor to me and my godson Jiang Xin. From now on, we will follow Doctor Bei," Jiang Mingzhong stood up and said.

Mrs. Qin was only slightly older than Jiang Mingzhong. Seeing this big happy family, he smiled, but his heart was filled with deep emotion and a touch of melancholy.

He also had a son and daughter-in-law, but now, in his old age, he was alone.

"Godfather," Jiang Xin had been standing beside Tian Zhi and, sensing the change in Jiang Mingzhong’s mood, walked over and held the corner of his clothing.

Turning his head, Jiang Mingzhong saw Jiang Xin’s worried eyes, and it felt as though the emptiness in his heart was filled a little, causing him to smile and gently pat Jiang Xin’s hand to indicate everything was alright.

Mrs. Qin laughed heartily and said, "Call me whatever you like, I don’t mind. I’ll go fetch you some water."

Jiang Mingzhong, feeling uneasy, said, "Sister-in-law Qin, please don’t trouble yourself. We can manage it ourselves!"

It’s hardly appropriate to have Mrs. Qin serving them water.

Wei Zhongxun naturally went over and took the teapot, saying, "Aunt, let me handle it."

Mrs. Qin didn’t insist, "Then, you all rest for a while. Whether you were driving or riding, it must have been tiring. I’ll go prepare some food for the little ones."
