Chapter 587: Chapter 587 Warm

Boo blinked, as if the question surprised him.

He thought for a moment, his tail still, his cap quiet.

"...Warm," he said simply. "I felt warm."

Alina’s heart softened completely.

She leaned back slightly, the last of her suspicion easing away.

"...Then maybe," she said softly, "he does care about you. Maybe he cares about you very much."

Boo’s eyes lit up instantly, his whole form brightening.

"I knew it!"

He floated higher again, his cap spinning, his grin returning.

"I am very lovable. Very easy to love. Very easy to care about."

Alina smiled.

"Yes," she said. "You are."

Boo nodded proudly, his chest puffed out, his tail swishing.

Then he leaned closer again, his voice dropping to a whisper, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Also," he said, "I have more gossip."

Alina sighed softly, but she was smiling.

"Of course you do."

"Very juicy gossip," Boo added. "About the elders. About the tower. About everything."

Alina shook her head, laughing.

"Tell me during free time," she said. "Right now, you should go play with your friends. They miss you."

Boo considered this for a moment, his head tilted.

"...They do?"

"Kelpie was worried. Luna kept looking at the door. Rocky saved his best stone to show you."

Boo’s face softened, something warm passing through his expression.

"...Okay," he said quietly. "I will go."

He floated toward the door, his cap still slightly tilted, his tail swishing slowly.

Three days passed.

Drake still didn’t come.

His absence had settled into the classroom like a quiet habit now, no longer surprising with that jolt of wrongness every morning, but still noticeable in small ways. In the way Luna stopped looking at the door every few minutes, but also ran less during games, her usual competitive fire dimmed to something softer. In the way Boo talked again, his stories as long and winding as ever, but sometimes paused mid-sentence, his gaze drifting toward the empty desk before he caught himself and continued. In the way Kelpie’s splashes were gentler, less chaotic, like even his water was waiting for something. In the way Rocky arranged his stones in patterns that always left one space empty, just in case Drake wanted to see one.

Even Felix was quieter, and for Felix, that was saying something.

That morning, Alina had received another message from Drake’s mother.

He will come directly on Sports Day. He asks about his friends every day. Especially about who is winning the arguments.

Alina had smiled at that, her heart both heavy and light. She had typed back quickly:

Tell him we are saving arguments for him. Especially Luna. She refuses to win while he is not there to lose to her.

She had almost added something about how much he was missed, but she knew his mother already knew. Every parent knew when their child was loved.

"...Come back soon, little dragon," she murmured softly to herself.

And she sent another message to take care of Drake and not worry about kindergarten matters.

She stared at the screen for a moment longer, then put her phone away.

Today was important.

Gabriel had organized the official meeting for Sports Day and Plantation planning, bringing together representatives from all the kindergarten classes. It was the first time the children would have a real voice in how the events were organized, and Alina had made sure Class D was ready.

And for the first time, Class D would send a representative.

Vlad Jr.

Dante had prepared a special meeting room for this, something Alina had noticed when she arrived. The room was larger than the usual staff meeting spaces, with a long wooden table arranged neatly in the center, polished to a soft shine. Small chairs were placed around it at just the right height for the children, each one carefully positioned. The windows let in soft sunlight, and at the head of the table, a small sign had been placed: Planning Meeting - Sports Day & Plantation.

Alina walked in with Vlad Jr. beside her, her hand lightly on his shoulder, guiding him toward the table.

He looked serious.

Extremely serious.

His notebook was already in his hand. His pencil was neatly placed between his fingers, sharpened to a perfect point. His posture was straight, his shoulders back, his chin level, like he was attending something far more important than a school meeting.

Because to him, it was.

"Remember," Alina whispered gently as they entered, leaning down slightly so only he could hear, "just be yourself. Speak clearly. And don’t be afraid to share your opinion. You were chosen for this."

Vlad Jr. nodded once, a sharp, precise movement.

"Thank you, Teacher," he said, his voice steady. "I am always myself."

She smiled faintly.

"That’s good."

Inside, other classes had already arrived.

The room was arranged with careful consideration, the children seated with their teachers nearby, each group occupying a section of the long table. Alina recognized faces from around the academy, children she had seen in hallways and assemblies, but never this close. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Miss Clara stood near one side of the table, speaking calmly with a young girl beside her.

The girl was from Class B, Alina remembered. Her name was Marina, and she came from the Shark clan, one of the oldest families in the academy. She looked composed, her posture elegant, her dark hair pulled back neatly, her eyes sharp with intelligence. There was a quiet confidence in the way she observed the room, as if she was already assessing everything, already calculating, already planning.

She noticed Alina and Vlad Jr. as they approached, her gaze flicking over them once, quick and professional. Then she gave a small, polite nod.

Vlad Jr. immediately nodded back.

No hesitation. No awkwardness. Just two representatives acknowledging each other.

Alina hid a smile.

On the other side of the room, Professor Hobb was sitting with an older boy from Class A. The boy looked to be around seven or eight, maybe nine, tall for his age, with a stillness to him that seemed unusual for a child.

Alina’s eyes shifted toward him and paused.
