Chapter 491: Chapter 491 Barbaric

Near the window,... Kelpie whispered, "Best school day ever."

Rocky nodded seriously. "Yes. Very educational."

And in the middle of it all, Drake slipped off the chair and landed with a thump, immediately pointing at Boo again, while Boo spun upside down and declared himself future legend of leadership, Luna barked rule violations, Vlad Jr. tried to restore civilization, and the entire classroom buzzed with chaotic, ridiculous, childish determination that somehow, in its own messy way, felt warm and alive.

However, by the time they finally ran out of arguments, out of dramatic speeches, and out of energy to glare at each other, a strange silence settled over their little circle. It took exactly three seconds for the realization to spread across their faces like slow sunrise.

They turned.

They counted.

They blinked.

Classroom was empty.

Kelpie.

Rocky.

Felix.

Sable.

Lucien.

Gone.

Boo’s eyes stretched so wide they looked like two floating moons. He clutched his head with both tiny ghost hands, spinning slowly in panic. "Oh no... MY VOTES RAN AWAY!" he cried in absolute tragedy, like democracy itself had personally betrayed him.

Drake gasped like someone had insulted his entire dragon bloodline. "They are escaping election process!" he declared, horrified.

Luna’s ears flattened instantly, instincts snapping into place. Without another word, she growled low in her chest, bones shifting smoothly as she transformed into her wolf form. Her silver-gray fur shimmered under classroom light, paws hitting the floor with sharp, controlled taps.

"Let’s catch them," she growled, voice deeper, sharper, all leader energy now.

Before anyone could argue, she bolted toward the door like a missile.

Drake slammed his hands on a desk, eyes blazing. "NOBODY ESCAPES FROM MIGHTY DRAKE!" he shouted, and in one smooth burst of flame and light, he shifted into his small dragon form, wings snapping open as he flew after Luna through the hallway.

Boo gasped dramatically. "WAIT FOR ME! I AM IMPORTANT PART OF THIS DRAMA!" And he zoomed after them, leaving a faint trail of sparkles like an overexcited comet.

The classroom door swung shut behind them.

Silence returned.

Meanwhile...

Vlad Jr. simply blinked once.

Then twice.

Then he sighed, long and elegant and deeply disappointed in the state of society.

"Barbaric," he murmured softly.

He adjusted his sleeve, walked with perfect posture toward the nap corner, and settled onto his designated nap matt like a small, exhausted prince who had given up on ruling an uncivilized kingdom.

He sat there quietly, hands folded in his lap, staring at the banana and watermelon plushies placed beside him like silent, emotionally supportive council members.

"...You two are more reliable than them," Vlad Jr. muttered under his breath.

Outside in the hallway, chaos was unfolding at full speed.

Kelpie and Rocky were hiding behind a large plant pot near the staircase, whispering frantically.

"I told you we should run earlier," Kelpie whispered, eyes sparkling with excitement.

"I don’t like being chased," Rocky whispered back, hugging his bag. "It feels like crime."

Felix was sitting on the floor beside them, back against the wall, looking extremely done with existence.

"I tried to leave peacefully," he muttered. "But no. Democracy is violent."

Further down the corridor, Sable and Lucien were standing near a window, completely calm.

Sable was holding Lucien’s sleeve. "Do you think they will calm down?" he asked softly.

Lucien nodded slightly. "Eventually. After dramatic shouting phase."

Just then—

A wolf-shaped Luna slid around the corner, nose twitching.

Behind her, Drake hovered mid-air, scanning like a tiny military drone.

And Boo floated dramatically above them like ghost surveillance.

"There!" Drake shouted.

Kelpie squeaked. Rocky froze. Felix closed his eyes like he was accepting fate.

Luna trotted closer, tail flicking, not angry anymore... just determined.

"You cannot escape voting," she said firmly.

Kelpie slowly raised his hands. "We were... testing security."

Felix opened one eye slowly, like someone who had already accepted that peace was never an option in this lifetime. "No," he said flatly. "We were escaping."

Before anyone could argue, a deep, calm, dangerously familiar voice cut through the hallway air.

"What is happening here?"

Everything froze.

Drake froze mid-hover, wings stiff.

Luna’s wolf ears snapped forward.

Boo stopped spinning in air like someone had pressed pause on his soul.

Kelpie swallowed.

Rocky instinctively hid half behind the plant pot.

Felix closed his eye again, clearly deciding he did not want to be perceived.

At the end of the hallway, Dante stood, tall and still, his presence alone enough to make the air feel heavier. His crimson eyes moved slowly across the scene. Boo floating. Drake hovering. Luna in wolf form. Three missing students attempting to look invisible.

His brows pulled together in a slow, dangerous frown.

Boo recovered first, because Boo always recovered first.

"PRINCIPAL SIRRRRRR!!!!" he shouted happily, like he had just seen his favorite celebrity instead of the source of his academic suffering.

Dante’s gaze locked onto him instantly.

"And you," Dante said, voice low and controlled, the kind of calm that was much more terrifying than shouting, "I told you to come to my office daily for one week."

Boo’s glow flickered.

"And yet," Dante continued, taking one slow step forward, "you did not come today."

Another step.

"I specifically came to get you," he said, lips curving into a cold, razor-thin smile, "in case you forgot."

Boo gasped dramatically, clutching his chest. "Sir I did not forget! I was... emotionally preparing!"

Drake whispered to Kelpie, "He is going to die."

Kelpie nodded solemnly. "Yes. Emotional death." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Luna shifted back to her normal form, immediately standing straight like a disciplined soldier. "Principal sir," she said respectfully, trying very hard to look like she had not just been leading a hallway hunt.

Dante didn’t even glance at her.

His eyes were still on Boo.

"Office," he said simply, pointing down the hall.

Boo tried one last attempt. "Sir what if I come tomorrow and bring... extra apology?"

"No."

"What if I write twenty times instead of ten?"

"No."

"What if I bring cactus gift?"

Dante’s eye twitched almost invisibly.

"Office. Now."

Boo slowly turned toward the office direction like a ghost being escorted to afterlife paperwork.

"...This is oppression," he whispered sadly, floating forward.

As he passed Drake, he whispered, "If I do not return, tell teacher I was brave."

"You are not brave," Felix muttered from behind the plant. "You gossip."

Boo sniffed. "History will remember me differently."

Dante walked behind him, hands behind his back, expression calm but eyes still holding that dangerous amusement.

As they walked away, Drake let out a breath. "I thought he was going to turn Boo into homework."

"He still might," Luna said seriously.
