I Awoke as an Imprisoned Villainess-Chapter 24 - Its your achievement
It’s your achievement
The months have passed by quickly, and it’s been two months since my imprisonment.
In the end, I haven’t been able to meet His Highness again since then.
I’ve been giving him milk through Claude sama, in different amounts and mixes, and listening to his condition, I’ve been conducting a reckless medical examination, trying to guess if he has some kind of illness or he is poisoned.
By the way, the milk is supposed to be the wisdom of Claude sama’s grandmother. Like she seems to be very knowledgeable and is currently living in a distant territory.
So, from the milk I’ve been giving him these past two months, and from what Claude sama told me, it seems that japanese ash and white sage are the most effective for His Highness’s symptoms.
I don’t know the cause of his symptoms, but I can’t believe that these herbs, which doesn’t have any detoxifying effect, can help him.
I’m painfully aware of my lack of ability, as I can’t match His Highness’s symptoms with the efficacy of these herbs.
“Still, His Highness’s condition has improved a great deal ever since he started drinking the milk”
“Is that so…”
Claude same, who brought me a snack today as well, gave me words of consolation.
While tasting the cool and refreshing taste of strawberry jelly, I replied with just a little bit of dejection. I really think sweets are amazing, because they taste so good even when you are distressed.
“You were able to alleviate the symptoms that even the chief royal apothecary couldn’t. I think it’s a wonderful achievement”
“No, I originally only suggested that it would be good for insomnia…so, I don’t think it’s anything to take credit for since it’s kind of a fluke”
When I said this, Claude sama raised his eyebrows and sounded dissatisfied as he said, “I’ve been thinking about it for a while now, but”.
“You’re too nonchalant about what you have accomplished. You should be a little more accepting of your accomplishment as it is”
Claude sama’s face turn sour as he says the same thing with the Donovan case.
“When Neil thanked you, you said it was because of Neil’s immediate actions; indeed, Neil is great for moving fast at your words. But without your advice, he couldn’t have taken that action in the first place”
“Eh? But I think, if someone familiar with food regimens had seen that, they would’ve recognized it immediately, even if I didn’t”
“However, it was you who actually gave the advice”
I was a little troubled because Claude sama looked at me so straightforwardly.
The actual person who saved the people of Donovan is Neil, and the fact that His Highness’s symptoms eased is only due to a little milk I offered him by chance.
It is uncomfortable to claim credit for such trivial coincidences.
Perhaps he could sense my feelings, but Claude sama’s eyebrows are furrowing more and more. As I ate the jelly, feeling a little unsettled, he let out a sigh as he said, “Besides,”.
“Above all, you created that capsule. —I was really surprised that you managed to make it in less than two months”
“I’m really glad! It’s all thanks to Claude sama for arranging the materi-”
“It’s your achievement”
“…eek”
I was about to thank him, but Claude sama smiled at me with pressure, so my speech became broken and I nodded. As a matter of fact, I worked hard regarding this one, but without Claude sama, I couldn’t have made it.
That’s how much trial and error I went through with various materials.
I looked at the small vial on the desk. Inside were small capsules of a deep azure color with a glossy sheen, and a few reddish purple capsules.
This azure color pill is filled with concentrated boiled liquid of NigaNiga. The reddish purple capsules contain dried and powdered Idaten.
The capsule itself was ready in a short time, but the contents of the capsule were the real challenge.
First of all, it is very difficult to fill the capsule with concentrated liquid of NigaNiga.
If the liquid is too hot, it melts the capsule. If it cools down, it sticks to the bottom of the pot and cannot be put into the capsule properly.
So, to keep it from hardening, I created what we call an anticoagulant. It took a lot of trial and error, using citrus fruits and nion fruits, but we succeeded somehow.
Likewise, I struggled with Idaten.
When completely dried and placed in capsules, the decomposition is somewhat slowed down. However, it still decomposed very quickly, only about a week, so it was very difficult to make a strong preservative.
Finally, we soaked the Idaten in the decoction of Nandina for three days, dried it completely, ground it to powder, mixed it with cinnamon and parrilla powder, and put it in capsules to not have any contact with air. It turned to last for at least three weeks.
As I was thinking about all that hard work …and feeling happy that I had made it, Claude sama opened his mouth with a kind look on his face.
“With this, the people of Donovan will be free from that disease, as well as others”
“Yes. White bread is delicious, so now you can eat lots of it every meal without worrying…!”
Of course, I think it is more important to actually eat nutritional food directly.
But, I think.
New novel 𝓬hapters are published on freёwebnoѵel.com.
“People who live in barren lands inevitable have poor nutritional status and are prone to illness. I hope they can take in a little nutrition from this and stay healthy”
It is said that in the country far to the east, there is a saying that medicine and food are of the same origin, and that food is the key to preventing diseases. If you aren’t sick, but are becoming so…your unhealthy body can be improved a little through diet.
“It’s important to cure an illness you already have, but it would be just as nice not to get sick in the first place”
To that end, if I had more time, I would’ve tried food that strengthen skin and hair, bones and teeth, heart, liver, pancreas, and other parts of the body, but…I may not have the time.
Still, I was determined to try as much as I could, and with enthusiasm, I told Claude sama, “I think I’ll ask you to arrange medicinal herbs again…” with some reluctance, and he smiled a bit, looking dumbfounded and nodded.
“I understand. I’ll make the arrangements. But please keep it in moderation”
“Thank you very much…!”
When I thanked him with relief, he said, “You can’t make medicines without medicinal herbs. It’s only natural that we prepare them”
“At the same time, those capsules couldn’t have been made without you”
“..Is that so…”
I gazed at the capsule in my hand again. The sun shone, and shades of azure and violet were shining on the desk.
The fact that I got help from Claude sama doesn’t change though.
“Indeed, this could be my contribution”
When I said this in a small voice, Claude sama narrowed his eyes and smiled a little, saying, “I suppose”.
