I Am Your Natural Enemy-Chapter 761 - 288: A Broken Leg is So Useful, I’m So Scared (5k)_3
Wen Yan's power exploded, turning three steps into one. He charged straight into his opponent's arms, stomped his right foot down hard, drawing power from the ground, and launched a fierce elbow strike right at the heart, all his strength pouring out in an instant. He came to a dead stop right where he was.
The big Monkey's chest instantly shattered into a dozen fragments—he flew backward like he'd just gotten slammed by a dump truck, shooting through the air with a whoosh.
When the big Monkey crashed into a tree, he started coughing up blood in huge mouthfuls, breathing like a busted bellows. After a few spasms, even the insane rush of adrenaline couldn't keep him going.
Wen Yan didn't spare the Monkey another glance. The Yang Energy surging from his body grew even wilder. If a Demon took a hit from him, they'd instantly revert to their original form. Ghosts had it even worse—one encounter and they'd be vaporized on the spot.
Wen Yan tore through their ranks, killing his way forward. Whenever someone looked tricky, he'd just cripple them without a second thought.
He charged out, heading straight for a figure possibly spying from another mountain ridge.
He pulled out his phone, messaged the Black Box, and asked it to help him locate the target.
He tore through the forest like a raging inferno, burning with fury as he moved at impossible speed.
From a distance, a Demon sensed the danger and immediately bolted. When he realized Wen Yan's Yang Energy was getting closer and closer, he panicked—even as a Demon in the mountains, he couldn't outrace a human like Wen Yan. So he turned back into his original form, hiding inside a tree hollow.
He felt Wen Yan's Yang Energy flash by, then seemingly fade away. He let out a silent sigh of relief.
He timidly poked his head out to take a peek—but out of the corner of his eye, he saw Wen Yan squatting directly above him. The Yang Energy hadn't left at all—Wen Yan had only suppressed it, masking his presence.
Wen Yan looked down at the White Fox crawling out of the tree hollow, filthy from head to toe, and slammed her head right into the dirt.
"If you don't want to die in agony, play nice."
The White Fox lying on the ground twisted, transforming into a naked young woman, pitiful and helpless. But before she could say anything, she felt her head buzz as Wen Yan pushed her down, cracking the rotten tree roots underneath. Her face slammed into the decaying humus with a dull thud.
Wen Yan's expression turned icy.
"I ask, you answer. If you answer honestly, I'll send you to the Scorching Sun Department for judgment—whatever they decide, goes.
Try anything smart, and you'll just be another armed criminal gunned down at the scene.
Now, change back to your true form."
Wen Yan loosened his grip just a bit. The young woman, with a look of deep grievance, replied:
"This is my true form. I don't use my original body when I go out—less trouble that way."
She wasn't even finished speaking before Wen Yan shoved her face back into the dirt, not even giving her time to let out a scream.
"I said: I ask, you answer. Not a word of this irrelevant nonsense."
"Who sent you here today?"
The White Fox hesitated, then just closed her eyes, bracing herself for death—silent and stubborn, she refused to say a word.
Seeing her like this, Wen Yan knocked her out with a single slap, picked her up one-handed, and strode quickly back to camp.
By now, the fighting at camp had just about wrapped up. Things had been pretty intense, but after Wen Yan's rampage, there was no suspense left.
Wen Yan forced the White Fox back into her original form and tossed her onto the ground.
He didn't care how late it was—someone messed with his house, so he definitely had to give Granny Fox a call.
The phone connected almost immediately.
"Hey, Grandma, something's up. Just wanted to let you know—someone disguised as you tried to come to my house and kidnap the Little Fox."
He's fine. The impostor's already been caught.
I'm fine too. I haven't gone back yet, I'm in the Qinling Mountains.
One of my employees ran into trouble here, so I came to check it out.
After I arrived, I realized—they set this up to lure me here on purpose.
Yeah, caught a White Fox—she was relaying their messages, a Demon."
"White Fox?" Granny Fox's face turned cold, and after a moment of thought: "What did the White Fox say?"
"She just closed her eyes and waited to die—terrified, but wouldn't say a thing."
"Then there's no point asking—she's not some stray fox, definitely from the White Fox Clan.
Their clan rules are strict as hell. Worst thing you can do is betray your own kind.
When something goes down, they'd rather die than do that.
'Cause if you betray your kin, what comes after is worse than death.
Sorry for all the trouble the kid caused you. I'll settle this, I promise.
You don't have to worry about the rest of it."
"Grandma, this isn't about the Little Fox anymore.
This is about someone daring to come into my house and snatch a kid.
If I don't do something, who's going to stop the next guy?
Damn, I don't even want to imagine it.
This time, they tracked me, waited for me to leave before doing it.
Next time...
I'm shaking just thinking about it.
If anything ever happened to my family, what the hell would I do?"
On the other end, Granny Fox listened to Wen Yan and actually started to feel a bit of fear herself.
"So, can I ask—where's the White Fox Clan's territory?"
"What are you planning?" 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"I just want to go have a talk with them."
"You need a special item to enter their territory. Tomorrow, I'll send you the token through the Scorching Sun Department's courier."
"Alright, Grandma, you be careful too. And, just to say—the kid's not involved anymore."
After hanging up, Wen Yan's expression was cold as ice.
No way he'd blame some clueless kid for the enemies' screw-up.
This whole thing was someone trying to kidnap children at his house.
Who knows who they wanted to take?
Just the Little Fox? Or all of them?
Or maybe they were trying to steal something else from my home while they were at it?
Who knows?
Nobody knows.
Once he was sure there was nothing more here, Wen Yan went home.
He saw someone hanging like a mummy from the streetlight outside, so he told Gray Cloth to let them down.
Sure enough, two foxes—a White Fox and another with gray fur.
Now it was easy.
Meanwhile, Granny Fox was in shock herself. Those bastards had really lost their minds—absolutely fearless.
She brooded for a long while before making a call.
A cackling old woman's voice came from the other end.
"Heh, after all these years, I figured this call would come for your funeral."
Granny Fox's face was unmoved. She didn't bother replying, asked right away:
"Got a question for you—are you involved with the White Foxes' recent bullshit?"
"I haven't gone back there in over a decade."
"Fine then, hand over your token, I need to borrow it."
"What the hell for?"
"Some damn foxes crossed the line, want to die so bad—I'm going to see them off."
