Seeing her determination, the staff member sighed and left the cell. Kris Cooper, standing outside the iron gate, watched him return alone. He then stepped forward, his hand gripping the bars of the cell door.

"Miss Wave asked you to go back and work hard. She’ll see you once Ashton and Glimmer are fully on track," the staff member relayed dutifully.
"Stubborn girl!" Kris Cooper cursed under his breath. He glanced at the iron-barred gate, took another step toward it, then immediately pulled back. "Alright, I’ll do as you say!"
He handed the breakfast he had brought to the staff member and said in a deep voice, "Please deliver this to her. If she eats it, I’ll leave. If she doesn’t, I’m not going anywhere!"
The staff member reluctantly took the food and delivered it to Vera Wave’s cell, passing on the message word for word.
Glancing sideways at the thermal container the staff member had placed on the table, Vera Wave got out of bed and walked over. She lowered her head and began to eat in large mouthfuls.
Only when she couldn’t stomach another bite did she stand up and pack the container again.
"Please take it back."
The staff member came out with the container. Kris Cooper, waiting outside the iron gate, took the empty thermal container from him, offered his thanks, and walked out of the detention center.
Back in his car, he started the engine and immediately rushed to the Glimmer Building.
From then on, Kris Cooper became a frequent visitor to the detention center.
He would arrive punctually for every meal—breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even late-night snacks—bringing her a different variety of food each time.
In the evenings, he would work on his laptop in the car. When he got tired, he would nap there, keeping her company from just a few walls away.
