Chapter 626: Chapter 626: Truly Worthy of Being a Tycoon

"Goodness, a tycoon indeed!" said Isla Hawskin, tapping her arm. "Your dressing room is bigger than my bedroom; it’s downright unbearable! Seriously though, there will be loads of rich second, third, and fourth-generation guys tonight... Make sure you introduce me to them!" She puffed out her chest. "Tonight, I’m going to make those guys fall head over heels for me!"

Vera Wave turned to look at her, eyed the impressive cleavage revealed by her V-neck dress, and promptly rolled her eyes.

"No fair stealing my thunder just because I have smaller breasts, huh?"

"Relax, our big boss, Kris Cooper, is partial to your type. He’s seen me several times and hasn’t given me a second glance. Bestie’s man is off-limits; I definitely won’t make a move on your guy!"

Vera burst out laughing, reaching for the dress she bought herself off the rack.

"These two sets... oh, right, and this one..." She pulled out two more outfits. "These were brought back from France by Kris’s parents. Which one do you think looks the best?!"

"Wow, wow, wow!" Isla’s eyes nearly popped out of her head. "My god, do you know how much this dress costs? It’s more than my two years’ salary plus my annual bonus... Your mother-in-law is so good to you... WAAAH... What’s a girl like me, who can only rent dresses, supposed to feel about this?"

While Isla was still exclaiming, Merlin Bradley came over.

"Vera, Assistant Taylor is here!"

Vera hurriedly handed the outfits to them and walked out of the dressing room. As expected, Tommy Taylor was standing by the door, accompanied by two young women, each carrying large and small bags.

"Assistant Taylor, what can I do for you?"

"Miss Wave, this is the dress and jewelry that the president prepared for you!" Tommy Taylor handed over an elegant paper bag. "These two are the stylist and make-up artist the president had me find for you. If you need anything else, just tell me and I’ll take care of it."

"Let me see!"

Isla had already rushed over, taking the bag from Tommy Taylor.

"A custom high-end dress by Versace?!" She carefully opened the package, slowly lifting the lid off the box, her fingers tenderly touching the fabric. "Handmade embroidery... Do you see these? These are high-quality rhinestones, even more expensive than Swarovski crystals..."

"So..." another girl chimed in, "this dress must be pretty pricey, right?"

"Take ’pretty’ out of that sentence!" Isla stood straight up, exclaiming in a reverent tone, "It’s not ’pretty expensive,’ it’s very, extremely, unbelievably expensive! Being able to touch such a dress in my lifetime, I can die happy now!"

Everyone laughed at her exaggerated display.

The make-up artist Isla had brought stood up. "Looks like I won’t be needed, then?"

Just glancing at the high-end equipment brought by the make-up artist Tommy Taylor had found, she knew she was in a different league.

"Don’t say that!" Isla turned around. "Since you’re here, help us all get made up. Merlin, the other girl... make them all beautiful."

Vera turned her face as well. "Yes, please help everyone."

The artist had come all this way; it wouldn’t be fair to send her back without giving her a task.

So, everyone quickly got busy.

The make-up artist and stylist Tommy Taylor brought along began assisting Vera with her makeup and hair, while the make-up artist Isla had requested meticulously helped Isla, the other girl, and Merlin Bradley get ready.
