I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 591 - 589: The Truth Behind the Amnesia (7)
"It’s okay, it’s all in the past... I’m here with you..."
While comforting her, he carefully observed Vera Wave’s expression.
From her reaction just now, his worst fear had come true. She not only remembered all the beautiful moments between them but also the one thing he hoped she wouldn’t recall.
Vera’s complexion gradually calmed down. Her eyes were still a bit red, but she was no longer as panicked and lost as before. Her once cold skin was now warm in his embrace, and some color returned to her pale face.
"Vera, are you okay?" he asked cautiously.
She lifted her face, her gaze falling on his, first stunned, then she furrowed her small brows with heartache, lifting her small hand to touch his face. She looked around and then showed an extremely apologetic expression.
"Let me get some medicine to apply on you!"
Earlier, she had acted like a little maniac, scratching his face a few times. Luckily, she didn’t have a habit of keeping long nails. Despite that, there were still a few noticeable scratch marks on the side of his face.
"No need." Kris Cooper pulled her back, his gaze locking onto her eyes, "Tell me, are you okay?"
"Much better now." She smiled at him shyly, "Earlier... I mistook you for a bad guy."
"If you want to vent, you can hit me, or throw things..." Kris Cooper took a deep breath, "Or, we could see a psychologist?"
"It’s fine, it’s all been so long." The little girl stuck out her tongue, "It’s just that earlier, I... I didn’t quite process it."
Her expression wasn’t as gloomy or defeated as he had imagined.
"If you’re upset, don’t hold it in!"
Andre Colin had previously warned him that if she does recall any dark memories, he must let her express them as keeping things bottled up inside would only make it worse. So Kris Cooper had been doing his best to soothe her emotions according to Andre’s guidance.
"It’s okay!" The little girl gave him a bright smile, "I’ll go get you some medicine!"
Rising from his embrace, she found the guest room’s First Aid Kit, took out the cotton swabs, and helped him clean the wounds on his face, appearing very calm and composed.
Kris Cooper couldn’t quite figure it out, and was afraid asking might wound her pride, so he held back from asking.
By then, Vera had already finished applying ointment on him, cleaned up the trash on the floor, and returned to sit by his side.
"Earlier, I’m sorry, I... I mistook you for a bad guy."
After hesitating for a while, Kris Cooper cautiously spoke.
"Did you remember something?"
Vera nodded, her expression turning solemn again.
"I remembered everything, everything that happened that night... I remembered it all." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Honey, you must be hungry, I’m really hungry too, how about... we go to the restaurant and get something to eat? You know they have really great desserts there." He quickly changed the subject, "I’m eager to try them."
Vera lifted her face, watching as Kris Cooper stood up from the bed.
"We can order room service and eat while we talk."
After contemplating for a moment, he got up and walked over, crouching in front of her, holding her knees, "Vera, the past is the past. I told you, no matter what happens, you’ll always be the girl I love most in my heart, that will never change."
