Chapter 576: Chapter 574: Adding Another Little Happy Nut

As a grandfather, Henry Cooper personally came out to greet them. Older people love a bustling family home. Kris Cooper had been studying overseas for many years. He had only recently returned to Nicosa but was hardly ever home. Now, not only had he returned to stay, but he had also brought back a granddaughter-in-law. The old man could hardly be more pleased.

Vera Wave had always been sweet with her words. With her sweet calls of ’Grandpa,’ she charmed the old man so much that he couldn’t stop smiling. He kept instructing the servants to fetch her this to eat and that to drink, all while showing heartfelt concern for her wellbeing.

Upon seeing Kris Cooper offering her sliced fruits, Vera Wave spoke up immediately. "You should quickly change clothes and head to work."

He had stayed up all night in the hospital caring for her and then arranged for her discharge early in the morning. She was afraid that it would delay his work.

Kris Cooper looked at his watch, got up, and headed upstairs to take a shower and change his clothes. When he came back downstairs, he didn’t forget to remind her, "If you need anything, just ask. Don’t be shy."

"I know. This is my home now, so why would I be shy?" The young woman winked, then raised her gauze-wrapped hand and waved. "Mr. President, off to work you go!"

"You can go without worry; leave her to me," Bailey Hansen said with a laugh from the side. "I promise I’ll return her to you with not a single hair out of place."

And so, Kris Cooper left the old mansion with Tommy Taylor.

After Kris Cooper left, Bailey Hansen got up to answer the phone, and Henry Cooper started chatting with Vera Wave.

Vera Wave was always witty. Coupled with her experience from living with her grandmother, she was quite skilled at communicating with elders and constantly had the old man roaring with laughter.

Bailey Hansen went upstairs to air out Kris Cooper’s bedding. While on the staircase, she heard the laughter of the grandfather and granddaughter from downstairs. She turned her head, a smile gracing her lips. She and Christoper Cooper had been busy with a film project for the past few months. Kris Cooper had just returned to the country and was so swamped with company matters and Vera’s affairs that they often wouldn’t see him for days on end. Their home hadn’t been this lively in a long time.

On the staircase, Christoper Cooper happened to come out of the study room and asked her where a document was.

Bailey Hansen gestured downstairs with her chin and chuckled, "Look how happy the old man is!"

Christoper Cooper smiled and nodded. "This young lady is quite the delight. Once she and Kris are married, our home will be much livelier."

"And it would be best if they added another little joy-bringer; then the old man really wouldn’t be able to stop smiling!"

...

...

Life at the Cooper family home was incredibly peaceful, but Vera Wave was not one to stay idle.

She rested at home for only one day. The next morning, after breakfast and once Kris Cooper had left, she asked to return to the company.

She was now the Manager of the Planning Department, a very important position. Many aspects of the company’s current major project required her final say.

In just one day, she had managed to get Henry Cooper on her side. The old man even helped plead her case. Bailey Hansen couldn’t refuse her, so she decided to drive Vera to the company herself.

"I’ll drive you."

"No need, I can take a cab."

"That won’t do. Kris entrusted you to my care, so I have to be responsible. Otherwise, wouldn’t I be betraying his trust? Vera, surely you don’t want me to be an untrustworthy person, do you?"

Vera Wave was left with no way to refute her words.

By then, Bailey Hansen had already put on her shoes and picked up her car keys. Vera Wave could only bid Henry Cooper goodbye and get into the car.

At this point, the journalists had already gotten wind of the news.

Even before Vera Wave had stepped out of the house, the news that she was staying at the old Cooper family mansion and had received the approval of Kris Cooper’s parents was already common knowledge.
