I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 450 - 449: At the Depth of Love, One Is Left Alone (Part 2)
After leaving the hospital and returning to the company, Vera immediately walked into her office and printed out all the previously organized materials, classifying them appropriately.
Having organized the materials, she stood up with them, just reaching the doorway, when her phone started ringing from her bag.
"Master, don’t abandon the Murphy Family!"
In a hurry, she had forgotten about her phone again.
Turning around, hearing the cute voice from her phone in the bag, she did not laugh out loud as usual, but her eyes felt a wave of warmth, hinting at tears.
Taking a deep breath, turning back to the table, Vera reached into her bag to retrieve the phone.
Reaching out to turn off the app that Kris Cooper had specially written for her, she was just about to put the phone into her pocket when the screen lit up once more, the word "Head" glaring conspicuously.
Taking a deep breath and adjusting her emotions, she finally answered the call.
"Hello?" 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"How is the wound? Have you changed the dressing?"
"It has already been changed, the doctor said it’s healing well, no need to be bandaged again."
"That’s good. I have to accompany a client for lunch, what do you want for dinner?"
"Dinner..." she pressed her lips, "Let’s cook at home, okay?"
"Okay." The man’s voice carried a hint of laughter, "Though, let’s agree first, I can only make steak and salad."
"I just love the steak and salad made by hubby! I’ll hang up now."
She giggled as she hung up the phone, looked at the name fading from the screen, tucked the phone into her pocket, picked up the stack of materials on the table, and walked out of the office, heading straight to Archie Perkin’s office.
"Vera, have a seat!" Archie Perkin smiled warmly and gestured for her to sit down. "Anything you need to instruct?"
"What are you saying? You’re the expert on this project!" Vera placed the stack of materials onto his desk. "These are some planning materials for similar projects I collected over the past few days, for your reference."
Archie glanced at the thick stack of materials on the desk, his gaze shifted to her face.
"What’s the meaning of this?"
They had agreed before, to jointly perfect this proposal, a collaboration of mutual sincerity, how could she bring all the materials over?
"I have some personal matters, and can’t come to work these few days, so I’m counting on you for this."
"I see!" Archie’s eyes showed a hint of worry, "Is there... something going on at home?"
"Nothing major, in any case..." Vera stood up, "I’m relying on you for this proposal."
Archie could see she had something going on, but since their relationship hadn’t reached that depth yet, since she didn’t want to say, he of course couldn’t force it.
"Don’t worry, I will give it my all."
Vera reached out with her palm, "Archie, I’m grateful to have the opportunity to work with you. Best of luck!"
This statement carried somewhat of a farewell tone.
Archie walked around the desk, came to her, and reached out to grasp her palm.
"I’m very glad to have been able to work with you."
After nodding, Vera withdrew her hand and turned to walk out of Archie Perkin’s office.
Returning to her office, she opened the drawer and organized the snacks Kris Cooper had bought for her, packing them into a paper bag and setting them aside; she also tidy up her desk seriously.
Finally, she opened a new document, and her fingers hesitated briefly on the keyboard before she finally raised her fingers and began typing.
As her fingers moved, four characters appeared on the screen — Resignation Draft.
