I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 407: The Girl from Six Years Ago (10)
"Honey!" Clinging to his neck, she hesitated for a moment before finally speaking softly, "Before me, you...how many girlfriends did you have?"
As outstanding a man as he was, there must have been many girls pursuing him. She wondered if he had been with any other woman before her. The thought of him holding other women in his embrace stoked a nameless jealousy within her.
"None!"
The man uttered two words in a low voice.
"I don’t believe that."
"It’s true!" Kris Cooper held her tighter. "You’re the first woman who ever truly moved my heart, and the only woman I’ve ever been intimate with."
Stunned, Vera Wave raised her face.
"This...can’t...can’t be possible, right?"
Even if he hadn’t truly loved any other woman, could it be that he really hadn’t even touched one in all these years?
What was so impossible about it? After she had left, it had seemed as if his very soul had been hollowed out by her. He had tried various ways to indulge himself, but he could never escape her shadow. He simply hadn’t been able to muster any interest in other women. Looking back now, he felt truly fortunate. If he had indeed indulged himself back then, it would have been a betrayal of their vows.
"All these years, I’ve been waiting for you!" Kris Cooper gently kissed her hair and spoke with a smile, "Your husband has waited this long for you; shouldn’t you make it up to me a little?"
Does that mean... she was his first?
"But...how come you’re so experienced...you seem like such a master at this?"
Kris Cooper chuckled softly. "Some people are just naturally smart. They’re self-taught, like me, your husband!"
It was because she had forgotten; she didn’t remember how things had been their first time. If she had remembered, she would have known that he too had been inexperienced when he first touched her.
Vera stuck her tongue out at him and made a face, but her spirits had already lifted considerably.
She trusted him—every single word he said.
The mere thought that this man was completely hers filled her with joy.
But then her little face suddenly fell again. "Honey! Then you...you don’t mind about me?!"
She remembered their first time. It had been a bit painful, but she hadn’t bled. Thinking about it now, it was very possible that it hadn’t been her first time. Would he really not mind?
"Mind what?"
"I..." She hung her little face low. "The first time we were together, I didn’t bleed."
Kris Cooper was taken aback for a moment before he regained his composure.
This silly girl, did she really think she’d given her first time to someone else? He remembered it clearly. That day, she had been in so much pain she had almost cried. It had made him so distressed and unsure of what to do that he had actually decided to stop.
"Vera, I can wait until you grow a little older!"
"No, I want to be your woman."
He recalled how back then, her arms around his neck, she hadn’t let go, insisting on giving herself to him. Later, when he had seen the blood-stained sheet, he had silently vowed in his heart: In this life, I, Kris Cooper, will never fail Vera Wave!
Thinking of how she had been back then, he held her tenderly, his heart aching with compassion as he kissed her forehead.
"You silly girl, not all women bleed the first time!"
The more he said this, the more uneasy she became.
"But...what if...what if it really wasn’t my first time...I...I have some fragmented memories...I...I might not be as good as you think."
