The instant Mary began to speak, Kris Cooper’s gaze shifted towards her. As she met his icy eyes, she promptly fell silent, too intimidated to utter another word.

"Yes!" Kylo Sail pressed her lips together. "Earlier I saw her... she walked into the storage room, carrying a USB stick in her hand. When she saw me, she nervously stuffed the USB stick into her bag."

"I’ll prove right now that you’re talking nonsense!"

Anger clouded Mary’s face as she yanked her purse open, turning it upside down and violently shaking its contents onto the ground.

CLATTER, CLATTER. Makeup, her cell phone... a myriad of items scattered across the floor, among them a tiny red USB stick.

Kylo Sail bent down and picked up the USB stick from the ground.

"Are you still going to deny it now?"

Mary stared at the USB stick in Kylo Sail’s hand, her face instantly paling. She turned to Kris Cooper, speaking hurriedly.

Kris Cooper gave her a sideways glance, and Mary fell silent. He then stretched his hand towards Kylo Sail.

Kylo Sail promptly handed over the USB stick, placing it on Kris Cooper’s palm. Holding the tiny USB stick, Kris Cooper observed it closely.

"What’s on the USB?"

Seeing that Kris Cooper seemed to have been misled by Mary, Kylo Sail took a shallow breath.

"If I’m not mistaken, it’s probably the photograph of you and Vera Wave getting cozy in the car."

Kris Cooper gave a nod, then handed the USB stick to Tommy Taylor who was standing next to him.

"Contact the police, they need to come and make an arrest!"

Accepting the USB stick, Tommy Taylor turned and moved away to make a call.

Mary, pale with fright, trembled on the spot.

Kris Cooper walked up to both of them, raising his right hand for a look.

With that, he raised his right hand and delivered a fierce, wind-like slap to Kylo Sail’s face.

Kylo Sail, completely unguarded, had no chance to evade. The slap landed flush on her face.

As the slap landed, her vision blurred. She staggered back, crashing onto the ground. Raising her face, she stared at Kris Cooper, her mind spinning in confusion.

Kris Cooper looked down at her from above. "From the new photo added to the PPT, it’s just someone’s back. How did you know it was me getting cozy with Vera?"

At that question, Kylo Sail fell silent.

Kris Cooper didn’t look at her again but turned his face towards Mary instead.

"Until the police get here, she is all yours. A person who would betray her friend like this deserves whatever she gets. I’ll vouch for you. No one here has hit her!"

Mary was no fool and clearly understood his words. She had long hated Kylo Sail but hadn’t dared to act out in Kris Cooper’s presence. Now that Kris Cooper had given her the nod, she would not hold back.

She immediately rushed over, grabbing Kylo Sail’s hair.

"You vile creature, I am going to beat you to death today. To think that I considered you a friend. Is this how you treat your friends? I must have been blind. I will kill you..."
