I am the Ruler of the Kingdom of Mysterious-Chapter 83 - 66: Farewell, Yan Daozi
Xu Jiayi’s legs were covered in blood, and his face was battered and bruised. Holding a malformed infant, his limbs twisted, he walked out of the room with a bizarre gait.
Yan Daozi did not display any fear; he was simply puzzled, not understanding why he ended up in this strange place.
He too had investigated matters related to the Yin Child and learned from his information that the first Yin Child was very powerful, yet was not able to manifest a location, let alone during a time when the current Yin Child was still seriously injured and not at its peak.
This kind of ability is usually only seen in some ghost-level existence, or it’s a special yin object, nurtured by years of resentment and yin energy, forming such a place.
Xu Jiayi got closer, and Yan Daozi squinted his eyes. A slender ghostly shadow appeared behind Xu Jiayi, with a skin-covered hand on Xu Jiayi’s head. The skin on Xu Jiayi was then torn open, leaving only a wisp of black resentment dissipating.
"A trivial trick!"
Yan Daozi was feeling triumphant, but before he could finish speaking, footsteps accompanied by the sound of a crying baby emerged again from that room.
A new Xu Jiayi, with limbs twisting and a face marred with bleeding scars, walked out from the house once more.
Yan Daozi asked the Skinning Master to take action again, but the same situation happened again.
Even the Skinning Master was unable to completely kill this evil spirit, and each time one was destroyed, another immediately appeared.
A hint of panic flashed in Yan Daozi’s eyes; he decided to ignore Xu Jiayi and turned around with the Skinning Master to flee.
But the door they came through had silently closed at some point. It was clearly a grid-like hollow door, yet the Skinning Master could not break through, and each attempt was thwarted by an invisible force.
Yan Daozi’s heart pounded like a drum, so he let the Skinning Master hold off the female evil spirit and went to investigate elsewhere.
In the other two rooms in the courtyard, there was no strange movement. The tightly closed doors wouldn’t open, the stairs leading up were blocked by black mist, and a strange force would push him away.
Yan Daozi took out vermillion, chicken blood, black dog blood, and other items from his bag, using all sorts of means to break the Ghost Wall, yet he still could not leave this place.
The continuous crying of the baby gradually agitated Yan Daozi, making him panic with no idea what to do.
"Yan Daozi!"
A clear shout made Yan Daozi instinctively turn his head, an arrow broke through the air, heading straight for his forehead.
Yan Daozi jerked his head to the side; the sharp arrowhead grazed past his temple, leaving a trail of blood beads.
But he couldn’t see where the archer Sang Que was, and he now felt like a turtle in a jar, at the mercy of others!
"Even if you kill me, you won’t be able to stop the sacrifice of Black Mountain Village!"
Yan Daozi shouted, as blood dripped down his cheek. The slender ghostly shadow behind him quietly disappeared, and he remained on high alert, avoiding Xu Jiayi while being cautious of all movements around him.
"Keeping me alive would benefit you the most!"
Yan Daozi continued to shout, finding it incredible that the person who once had to carefully disguise themselves before him, even needed to lure him away to steal from his home, could have grown to such an astonishing level in a short period!
His ten years of cultivation were no match for her ten days?
A sudden surge of resentment erupted in Yan Daozi’s heart!
He quickly took out the last yin object from his body, but before he could unveil the outer red cloth, Sang Que appeared before him, carrying a hunting bow and quiver, wielding a pig-killing knife exuding intense yin energy.
Goodbye!
Sang Que’s lips moved slightly, slashing down at Yan Daozi.
Yan Daozi looked horrified, his eyes wide, and he raised his sword to block.
The blood-colored blade silently cut through, and Yan Daozi’s head flew high, falling heavily, rolling to a stop at Xu Jiayi’s feet, his face still bearing a look of shock and disbelief.
In the distance, the Yin Child stood silently, with dry, bluish hands extending from the hole in its abdomen, firmly holding the Skinning Master, preventing escape.
The cost of using the pig-killing knife struck instantly, and Sang Que’s inner fear burst uncontrollably, feeling an impending pressure of death.
Drip! Drip!
The sound of a clock ticking suddenly echoed in her mind, and the approaching weakness of death made Sang Que’s legs give way, and she fell to one knee, the notch on the pig-killing knife deepening as well.
Sang Que tremblingly touched her neck but found no blood; her stitched neck hadn’t split open.
The power of Recovery helped her fend off the consequences of using the pig-killing knife.
Drip! Drip!
The noise in her head wouldn’t dissipate, like the insomnia-induced hypersensitivity of a nervous breakdown, where even the slightest noise could cause a racing heartbeat, intense frustration.
Sang Que suppressed this irritation with determination, furrowing her brows as she checked the time on a pocket watch.
After marking the time at exactly 11 o’clock, she went to find Yan Daozi, spoke for about 3 minutes, then used the door key to trap Yan Daozi. About 7 minutes later, she began to feel mentally exhausted.
She originally planned to ambush Yan Daozi with a bow and arrow, but the old thief was well trained and responded rapidly.
Upon seeing him take out a new yin object, Sang Que, unwilling to take risks, directly employed the pig-killing knife to slay him in one strike.
Looking at the Yin Child, Sang Que sensed its reluctance, wanting to devour the Skinning Master, so she quickly pulled out the key and shook it.
Jingle...
The collision of two keys produced a strong suction from Room 101, pulling the Skinning Master in instantly.
Bang!
The door closed, leaving the Skinning Master trapped within forever.
Xu Jiayi, holding the baby, gradually turned into ash. With the Skinning Master as a substitute for her, her resentment should dissipate.
If there truly is such a thing as reincarnation, Sang Que hopes she can have a better life in her next.
The surrounding environment began to change dramatically, morphing from a modern cement Skywell Building to one with ancient blue bricks, white walls, and wooden pillars, though still dilapidated and abandoned.
Where there should have been a clock shop, a stage appeared beneath the wall, with several drums in the position where musicians stood.
Even the key in her hand had transformed into an ancient-style key.
Could Old Tian, even in death, remain obsessed with being an evil spirit administrator through the lingering resentment or attachment?
Sang Que thought of the Water Ghost’s arm, gathering numerous souls and bodies to become part of it, like a great ghost commanding little ghosts.
Arms extending from puddles on rainy days were likely the Water Ghost’s cultivated Little Ghosts.
The village resentment also had many ’Little Ghosts’ formed from accumulated grievance.
Could yin objects also grow? Sang Que suddenly pondered this question.
A spasm of pain surged in her head, forcing Sang Que to catch her breath, her strength gradually returning as she quickly put away the key, dispersing everything around her.
This Skywell Building should be renamed the Opera House.
The Evil Mist dispersed, and the Yin Child vanished, restoring the surroundings to their original form. Sang Que and Yan Daozi had never left the courtyard, never stepping outside the gate.
Kou Yushan, with Corpse Mud smeared on his forehead, arrived with Xia Chan, seeing the mist had cleared, he immediately rushed inside.
Although mentally prepared, seeing Yan Daozi’s headless corpse shocked Kou Yushan tremendously.
Only a quarter of an hour passed since Sang Que entered the courtyard, and he and Xia Chan heard nothing from outside—Sang Que had killed Yan Daozi?
Kou Yushan stared blankly at Sang Que; he had once regarded her as a young girl but no longer dared to harbor such thoughts, feeling a certain awe.
Xia Chan was frightened by Yan Daozi’s corpse, clinging to Kou Yushan’s sleeve, trembling behind him.
Sang Que, uncertain if she could restrain Yan Daozi, had Kou Yushan guard outside with Xia Chan, whose special hair could bind Yan Daozi.
As for Liu Tianyou, Kou Yushan sent him to the village chief, forging documents as a precaution in case Sang Que’s assassination attempt failed, their only excuse to escape using the County Magistrate.
"What are you staring at? Move Yan Daozi’s body, you fool," Sang Que told Kou Yushan, her tone lacking friendliness, a vague frustration stirring within her.
She retrieved the key and yanked out the pig-killing knife from Yan Daozi, collecting the arrows she previously shot along with the yin object that Yan Daozi had no time to uncover.
