"Count Rufus is attacking us in the North. Scalize is the first to endure." Lord Arist said. "We already sent reinforcements to Scalize but the situation looks dire. Rufus had much more men than we do."

"Can Scalize hold on for a week?" Siderius said.

"Probably." Roland nodded. "But without anyone to stand against a Lesser Witch, there will be a lot of death."

"Don't worry. I will personally ride there myself. It'll be quicker." Siderius said.

"What should we do with the new Grey Plain, Lord Watcher?" Lord Asmon said.

"Just follow our usual plan and establish Quest Offices while breaking down the influence of the previous Royal Court. Keep recruiting men that are willing to fight the Royal Court. After we announce the truth behind the Grey Death, I suspect we will have a new influx of soldiers."

"Still. That wouldn't be enough to match Eldoria's force. They had much more soldiers than us." Roland sighed. "Maybe we did this a little too fast, Lord Watcher."

"Not fast enough. Because of the generations of human farm, Eldoria don't have that many soldiers. What will decide the result of this war won't be the soldiers. It'll be the Lesser Witch and Major Witch." Siderius said.

"How is the production of the development tonic and Spirit Swordsman?"

"Santa Roberto has gone full force into producing development tonic. With the gain of the other territory, we may be looking at around 100 to 200 bottles a week. Still, this wouldn't be enough to build a force that can match Eldoria." Roland said.

"It's because we don't have enough Alchemists and Witch Hunters. It's time, Roland." Siderius said.

Roland widened his eyes.

In the border between Scalize and Southpara, Count Rufus was drinking in his tent while his subordinates reported the latest war updates.

"We have taken over Sadriel and Scalf. Two of the southern towns in Scalize."

Count Rufus laughed, "Weaklings. They can't even take on my soldiers."

Suddenly, a soldier rushed inside and gave Count Rufus a piece of paper.

Rufus frowned while reading.

"What is it, my lord?"

"The latest news from our spies in Nivalis. They have announced three new professions that can help humans have the same power as witches.

Alchemist. Witch Hunters. And Knights of the Sacred Empire."

Another witch spoke up, "Pfft! What is Siderius doing? Writing fiction in the middle of war?"

"How dare he announce such a thing as Witch Hunter?! This is simply blasphemy to the Mother Goddesses!"

Count Rufus raises his hand. The entire room fell silent.

"It doesn't matter what he's planning. As long as we can secure the Tree of Woe. This young stupid kingdom shall fall. We have the goddesses on our side."

It was at this time that a groan spread all across the Eldoria Kingdom. It was the cry of the Tree of Woe.

Count Rufus stood up and widened his eyes. "It cannot be! That bastard!"

Count Rufus grabbed his heart as he felt the utmost pain in it. Power was drawing away from him.

Witches needed desires to advance. But the witches of this world had found another way to advance without completely consuming all humans. The Mother Trees.

They were the roots of all witches' power and it kept them alive and sane, without turning into mad Chaos Users.

Siderius noticed the difference between this world's witches and his world immediately from the first day he got here. The witches were more in control and they found a reliable way to stay immortal.

It was all because of the Mother Trees, a large-scale magical spell that increased all witches' power in the land of Eldoria.

There were two Mother Trees acting as anchors, each for the South and the North.

The Golden Delight in the capital. The Tree of Woe in the Grey Plain.

Count Rufus fell to his knees. Veins bulged on his forehead.

"Blasphemy! Heretics! How dare a witch touch the Tree of Woe?!"

Then Count Rufus remembered. Siderius had announced that he wasn't a witch. He had never been one and would never be.

"Unbelievable… That bastard… He's something else…"

Beneath the Grey Ward was an ancient looking church. The Tree of Woe, a dark tree that spread its roots over the entire Northern Lands was standing and pulling all the power of the lands inside it.

There was a reason why there was no Forest Spirit or Guardian in Eldoria. Siderius had only begun to see these natural occurrences in Everia. But in Eldoria, because of the Mother Trees, they couldn't form.

There was nothing left for them to form.

Siderius opened his mouth and breathed down fire on the tree. Knights were surrounding the tree and threw Phosphorus Bombs on it.

It was a gigantic tree that needed a lot of fire to kill.

With Siderius' dragon breath, he was able to carve out a hole in the trunk of the tree. Inside it was a purple heart beating.

"Move back!" Siderius shouted.

The Knights quickly retreated behind Siderius. The four apprentices were also there.

"You're about to see something truly wonderful, kid!" A knight told his junior.

The junior knight widened his eyes and tried to engrave everything that happened today to his memory.

The Bright Steel Silver Hawk appeared behind Siderius' back. It illuminated like a shooting star.

"Hidden Art!" Siderius grabbed the blade, "Bright Universe!"

Siderius sliced down the heart. The Silver Hawk shot out a broad and long sword beam that looked like the river of a galaxy. The beam sliced the tree in half and cut out the beating heart.

The purple heart fell on the floor. An unholy amount of Dark Aether was inside it.

That day, the Tree of Woe died. That day, Eldoria finally understood what they were dealing with. It wasn't just a treacherous witch. It was someone who wanted to wipe them all out.

The power of all witches in the North was cut in half. They could feel it instantly. Their proud Mana and magical power was drained away like the death of that evil tree.

Siderius plunged the Silver Hawk inside the purple heart and took away all of its power. With these Dark Aethers, his Soul Rank will advance even more.
