I Am The Only Witch Hunter-Chapter 350: Althaia
The female knight stepped forward and drove the sword at Siderius. Her sword was covered in a colorless energy.
A sword beam shot out of her sword.
Siderius drew <Parare> into the air. The green shield deflected the invisible beam into the snowfield on the side.
Althaia squinted her eyes under the helmet. "You aren't a Spirit Swordsman? Are you a witch?"
She immediately thought of the witches in Eldoria. Only then could conjure a barrier similar to that.
"Do not mistake me for those lowly witches." Siderius sliced the sword horizontally. A gold beam shot out from his sword.
"What is this Spirit?!"
Althaia answered with her own sword beam but hers disintegrated within seconds when colliding with the gold beam. The female knight dodged down to let the gold beam shoot over her. The beam cut a dozen of meters behind, slicing those dead trees in half.
Althaia's face went pale. Siderius' power was more destructive than any rank one or rank two swordsman she had seen.
"You're a rank three sword master... But why is your willpower pulse like rank one." Althaia said.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Siderius smiled.
Althaia put one foot behind her. "A strong willpower won't be enough to beat me."
Her willpower was released. It covered her entire body.
Sword beam and physical enhancement. Those were the two main powers of a Spirit Swordsman. They didn't have much variety in their ability but they made up for pure prowess. A witch that got cornered by a Spirit Swordsman would definitely die. She would simply not have enough Mana to fare with a spirit swordsman for too long.
Althaia disappeared at her location. She was even faster than Siderius at his max speed. Ashe couldn't even see Althaia.
But Siderius could see. His Dynamic Vision activated. His gold willpower enveloped his entire body.
His max speed was lower than Althaia. But that was only if he didn't use his Spirit Art.
Siderius simply turned to the side, allowing Althaia's sword to go past him.
The witch hunter grabbed Althaia's wrist and snapped the sword out of her hand. He kneed her in the stomach, knocking the air out of her.
As a final touch, Siderius spun and delivered a spinning back kick to her helmet, sending her flying.
The pure enhancement of 179 points of willpower made him no weaker than a rank 3 witch hunter. He was simply unstoppable with Body, Spirit, and Soul combined.
Althaia rolled on the ground. The helmet flew off her and revealed her bloody mouth.
She held her stomach and grunted. Althaia hadn't felt this hopeless for a long time. She knew that if she faced a third rank swordsman, she would have a chance to exchange blows. But Siderius was on another level.
The female knight grabbed her sword and pulled herself up.
"Come on, woman. You'll get yourself killed like that." Damien shouted. He was behind Ashe all this time.
Althaia glanced at Damien and back at Siderius, "Why didn't you kill me? You have the chance to do so."
Siderius' speed was incredible. She couldn't even react. If he wanted, she would have been dead for sure.
"I can see your past," Siderius said. His pure red eyes looked hypnotizing and otherworldly. "You are an honorable knight. For that, I can't kill you."
Siderius could see that Althaia had a very positive Karma through his Karmic Vision.
When two very Fate-adored beings met each other, if they came into a conflict, no matter who won, the victor would lose some of his Light Aether for sure.
Siderius didn't want that. So he didn't kill her.
Althaia chuckled. There was a bitterness to her smile. "Honorable? No one has told me that for a long time. They called me useless."
"Who cares who they think? I know what I see." Siderius said gently.
Althaia knew the man in front of her was incredibly dangerous. But he had no malevolent aura toward her. 'Maybe there is another way to fix this?'
"My name... My name is Althaia of Kynia Insula. I swore an oath of loyalty toward Merilla Glacirius, the Exalted Lady of the North. I promised her to deliver that man, Damianos Argentius, to the capital safely."
Siderius squinted his eyes, "In exchange for what?"
"In exchange for the life of the Exalted Lord of the North, Erdemir Glacirius."
"Exalted?" Ashe's brow furrowed, "Exalted titles in Everia are only for the mother and father of the king. Glacirius is a great house in Everia. How..."
"I see that you don't know the current political situation in Everia. The North has announced its independence from Everia. It is its own kingdom now, the Kingdom of Glacirium."
Ashe widened her eyes. She turned toward Siderius, "This is an all out civil war, Master."
Siderius took a deep breath, "Shit."
He knew exactly what had happened. But he hoped that Fate didn't play that game.
"Who is the current ruler of Glacirium?" Siderius said.
"It is the eldest son of Lord Erdemir. Victorus Glacirius. He's the King of Glacirium."
"Woah. Woah. You're not going to hand me to her now that you know about the war do you?" Damien said.
"Probably not." Siderius said. He placed the Silver Hawk on his back as it disappeared. "You can go, Althaia. I will not kill you. And I will not give Damien either."
Althaia bit her lips. She did not hesitate to raise her sword again. "It is a knight's duty to die in her services."
Siderius chuckled gently, "Don't be foolish. Live another day and you may service your lord and lady once more. Die here pointlessly and you contribute to nothing but rot to the earth.
I won't kill you. And you won't be able to make me kill you either. Return to Glacirium and report."
Althaia's hands trembled. Suddenly, she knelt down and drove her sword to her stomach.
Her entire body froze in the air. Siderius drew his new sigil <Desino> in the air. It was one of the two new sigils he carved into the silver bracer. It could make any living being freeze instantly and prevent them from moving.
Siderius approached Althaia and snapped the sword out of her hands.
"Your life isn't yours alone. There are people out there that need you. People like the lady you swear loyalty to. If you die here, and some day she needs you. Her death will be in your hands."
The effect of <Desino> disappeared. Althaia looked Siderius deep in the eyes.
