I Am The Only Witch Hunter-Chapter 324: Instant Movement
"I am also here to hear your answer as well, Quinlan." Siderius said.
"My answer? About what?"
"Whether or not you want to take my path."
Siderius pointed to his red eyes, "Notice any difference."
Quinland nodded, "They’re red now."
"This is a mutation. Or more precisely, a vampire eye mutation. In battle, I can see through any concealment to find my enemies."
"Holy shit!" Bas tapped his knee loudly. "If that’s the case you would be unstoppable on the battlefield."
Siderius nodded, "But that is only one of my powers. I have countless more. This mutation can cure your genetic defect, Quinlan. Cure forever."
"And in return. What do I need to do?"
"Do you want to join my guild, Quinlan?"
"Your guild?"
Siderius nodded. He stood up and turned his back toward the two of them. "I think you might already figure it out by now. I am not a witch. I am a witch hunter. I dedicate my goal to wipe the witches out of Eldoria. Our guild is called Xander and our sole purpose is to guard the kingdom of men.
Witches are not men. They aren’t even human."
"What makes you say that? They look human to me." Bas said.
Siderius shook his head. "Witches are an entirely different species than us. Their nature is to enslave men. Because we are their food. Especially in Eldoria."
Siderius didn’t tell them about the human farm in Eldoria. Humans were the nutrition to raise the Mother Tree. The Mother produced Mana Tear to advance the witches.
Quinlan stayed silent. They didn’t speak for quite a while. He had a long time to consider this since the last time they met.
"I only want to know one thing. If I joined your guild, what would happen to my merchant guild?"
Siderius chuckled, "Nothing. Your guild is still your guild. You only have to bear the same responsibility just like every other guild member. You’re rich doesn’t mean you have more responsibilities."
"If I have your words for it, then fine. I see no disadvantages in joining your guild."
Siderius turned to him and reached his hand out. "Welcome, Quinlan, to the Guild of Xander."
Quinlan stood up and grabbed Siderius’ hand.
"We should conduct the ceremony later tonight." Siderius said.
"I understand. I will have my men assist you with your search for Spirit Art. Most Spirit Arts are safeguarded by the Great Houses. But there are independent Spirit Arts out there. You and Jude might have a chance."
Siderius spent his afternoon inside the merchant guild. He was waiting for a guest that he knew would come very soon. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Eli had departed from the group right after he was rescued. Some believers of the Outsider came and took him. He didn’t spend the long journey with Siderius.
However they did tell him that they would be meeting him again in Everia.
Bas knocked on his room. "Someone is here to see you, Siderius."
Siderius stood up from his meditating position. Eli had come. Along with him were a few other men in black robes, they were also believers of the Outsider as well.
Other religions didn’t have that much oppression in Everia. It was a freer country compared to Eldoria.
"My friend. Are you well?" Siderius smiled.
Eli bowed to Siderius. "It is an honor to see you again, Herald."
Siderius’ brow furrowed. "Herald?"
Eli pointed to the Vagrant Ring on Siderius’ finger. "I knew the moment I saw that on your hand. The Vagrant Ring was just a normal ring. But on your hand, it becomes something else. There is the touch of the Outsider there."
Siderius sighed. "Unfortunately I can’t take it off. I am no Herald, Eli. The Outsider made me wear it for my mission. But I still can’t take it off after I save you."
"This is why we’re here. Could we speak in a more private room?"
"Of course. Please follow me."
Siderius led them into his room. The black robes believers sat all around him with Eli in front of him.
"I will remove your shackles now, Herald. As you have completed the Outsider’s mission perfectly. You have also removed a heretic that dared to punish me for speaking the word of our god."
’Heh. They also know I killed Varick. You really can’t hide from the eyes of God.’ Siderius thought to himself.
Eli placed his hand on Siderius’ forehead. His eyes became as dark as the night. Light Aether poured out of the Vagrant Ring and into Siderius. He had collected even more Light Aether as a reward from the Outsider.
But there was more. The ring became loose but Siderius could feel Light Aether still linger inside. They granted the ring some sort of power.
Eli returned to normal shortly.
"As a gift, the Outsider gave the Vagrant a very special power. He said that there is no catch attached to it. It is simply a reward for saving me." Eli said.
Siderius looked at the Vagrant Ring, there was a new symbol engraved on it. It actually had a very similar structure to an Alchemical Seal.
’So he also knew Alchemy...’ Siderius thought to himself.
"I hope the Ring could help you in your journey, Herald. Me and my brothers have other missions for the Outsider. May our path cross again some day."
Siderius nodded. "See you around, Eli."
’Personally, I really do not want to see you again. Not because I hate you, Eli. But I really do NOT want to be connected to a god.’ Siderius thought silently.
Eli and the black robes bowed at Siderius then left.
Siderius removed the Vagrant Ring from his finger. It came off easily. His pact with the Outsider had really disappeared.
"I wonder what this Seal is. It is similar to an Alchemical Sigil but not really."
Siderius put on the ring again. He approached a window and pointed his hand toward. His entire body turned into mist and disappeared. He teleported to the roof of the opposite window thanks to the Vagrant Ring.
"Teleportation? He really is generous."
Siderius pointed his palm back to his window and teleported himself back in. The Seal used his stamina similar to other Alchemical Sigils. It used very little fuel though.
"I guess this is because it has the touch of god. I’ll name this sigil Motusinta then as in Instant Movement. Mota for short."
