Chapter 314: Chapter 314: Eidolonidae Ears

"You knew?" Victoria smiled.

"Ordinary people wouldn’t just pop in and out of existence." Siderius said.

"But you knew it from the moment you met me?"

Siderius nodded. "My eyes are a little more special than the others."

His eyes flashed all types of colors. The gold of True Vision, the red of Blood Vision, the blue of Mana Detection, even the colorful of the Karmic Vision.

"Not just a little." Victoria observed his eyes intensely. It was like looking at the colorful galaxy river.

"Now we need to talk about my reward." Siderius placed the mug on the table.

"You have saved my friends. What ever it is you want, I will give you."

"I want your ears."

"My ears? Why?"

"I didn’t ask you about saving your friend, did I? So I expect you to allow me to keep some privacy."

Victoria smiled. She stood up and went over to Siderius. The ghost sat down on his laps. Even in death, she still had warmth radiating from her body. A particular case of a specter.

"If that is what you wish, then I’ll allow it." Victoria whispered to Siderius’ ears. "But can I ask for another favor?"

"What in it for me in exchange?" Siderius said.

"I think the favor itself is a reward."

"I already have my reward."

"Consider this a complimentary service from me then."

"What do you want then?"

"I am a virgin."

Her warm breath touched upon Siderius. He turned over to look at her more closely. Her soft lips glowed in the night like a little rose.

"And?"

"I don’t want to leave this world without experience the taste of a woman."

Siderius shook his head. "I can’t help you with that."

"Why not? Do you have someone you love already?"

"I do not love anyone."

"Then why."

"Love and lust are weaknesses. I do not intend to create weaknesses for myself so that my enemies can exploit it."

Victoria placed her hands on Siderius’ hair and caressed it carefully. "I am a dead woman. I will move on. I won’t become your weakness."

Siderius shook his head again. "It doesn’t matter. Even if it won’t become a weakness for my enemies, it can become a weakness for myself. Love makes you soft. It makes you hesitate when a hard decision needed to be made."

"There is no love between us. I don’t even know your name."

"I am Lord Siderius Snow Satterblade, Baron of Snowfell."

"Hello, Lord Snow."

"Hello, Victoria De Fanse."

"So... Is it sill a no?"

"The answer is no."

"What about just a kiss then?"

Siderius rubbed his chin in deep thoughts. He said the truth. He refused intimacy and any type of love because he couldn’t afford to be weak. He truly believed it in his heart that love in any amount was weakness.

Even his relationships with his apprentice or the domain he’s developing, they were all beneficial to him.

But a kiss didn’t seem that bad. If it’s what this soul needed to fulfil her regret, then so be it.

"A kiss is fine."

Victoria turned her body and sat on Siderius entirely, facing toward him.

"Not just any kiss. I want you to kiss me like you meant it. Kiss me like a lover."

Siderius smirked. "I will kiss you like someone who loves you dearly. Like a man that dreams about you every night."

"Oh, really? Show me, Lord Siderius Snow Satterblade. Show me what its like to kiss me dearly."

The hunter wrapped his arms over her waist and pulls her close. His breath fell upon her and his strong muscles pressed against her soft skin.

He didn’t say anything. He just did it. Taste the texture of the other side. The side of the dead.

And it ended. Victoria sat on the chair and looked out to the window. Her eyes glimmered with unknown emotions.

Siderius stood with his back against her, facing the window.

"So? You satisfied?"

"Very. You truly are one hell of a lover. If I was still alive, I would abandon everything just to have your love, Lord Satterblade.

As I promised, my ears."

Victoria touched her ears. They detached from her willingly and she placed them on the table. Ears of a specter. Spiritual and non-physical ears.

Siderius didn’t even know if he could mutate them. But he would try.

"I’ll take my leave now."

Victoria stood up.

Siderius grabbed her wrist. "Let me guide you to the afterlife."

"You can do that?"

Siderius nodded.

He drew a seal on the floor. The Last Rite of the Dead.

Victoria stood on the seal as it lit up in colors.

"I will remember you, Siderius. The only man that I have."

"And you will be in my memory, Victoria..."

She disappeared from this world and went on to the afterlife. For her sakes, Siderius didn’t finish his sentence until she had left.

"...One that I will bury deep in forgotten memories."

He felt nothing. Or so he told himself. He only did it to get the ears and to get this spirit to the other side.

He couldn’t afford feeling nor would he ever do.

Siderius grabbed the ears and started the mutation process.

He was able to interact with them even though they weren’t physical. Siderius quickly fused them Mercury and turned them into mutation.

He created two small incisions on his ears and slammed the mutation in.

[DETECTING UNKNOWN MUTATION...]

[PLEASE NAME YOUR NEW MUTATION...]

"Eidolonidae Number one." Siderius muttered

[EIDOLONIDAE NO.1 IS REGISTERED]

[+100 PSYCHOSIS]

[PSYCHOSIS LEVEL: 100/200]

The Psychosis of specter ears was surprisingly low. The psychosis symptom wasn’t that severe either. Siderius’ mind was intact and there were no pull or corruption.

He did, however, see some of her memories. The scene of her relaxing in the bath tub. Her restless night when she sat upon the moonlight and dreamed of someone to come and swept her off her feet. And the reason for her death.

She didn’t kill herself on purpose. She did it to free herself of the ill fate that was coming for her. The fate of becoming a concubine for another lord.

Lord Hallolass of Hallow Lands. He’d want to have her. Isla didn’t have a choice to refuse. Victoria also knew that.

So the famous singer did what was most reasonable. The only solution that wouldn’t bring harm to those who were close to her.

She killed herself.

Siderius opened his eyes. He could still smell her in the air.

"A ghost that is no different than a living person. I thought I’ve seen everything already. There are still things that I don’t understand." Siderius smirked lightly.

He closed his eyes and continued with his meditation.
