Chapter 294: Chapter 294: Silver Hawk

Engraving seals onto weapons was an age-old technique of Alchemist and Witch Hunter. It could make an ordinary weapon become as powerful as any magical artifact.

Weapon Seals were similar to normal Seals and had three main categories.

Transformation Seal with Mercury. This was usually a utility Seal.

Separation Seal with Sulfur. This was usually an offensive Seal.

Crystallization Seal with Salt. This was usually a defensive Seal.

"I have Crystallized Suppression thanks to Yellow Salt. With it. I can actually create a very useful seal for this sword.

The blade should be able to take in two seals. One is the seal with Yellow Salt. The second one... can be a Temporal Transformation Seal.

The third seal can be engraved at the handle."

Siderius finished his schematic and went to see George. The blacksmith was having a drink with his old friend, Finn, the blacksmith from Scalize.

"Finn, my friend. You’re here." Siderius said.

"I will never miss such an event, Lord Watcher." Finn stood up and bowed.

Siderius showed them the schematic. "This will be the new sword. I think I will call it Silver Hawk."

"Oh?" George’s and Finn’s eyes sparkled.

Afterward, Finn showed Siderius the collection that he had. Siderius happily accepted the items. They might not be precious but it proved Finn’s loyalty toward him.

Surprisingly, the steel of these items were of very good quality. Much better than the iron Snowfell was able to produce.

"Let’s melt these down to use for the Strong Steel production then."

Strong Steel needed Dull Steel as the core component. Then it also needed the complementary metals that Nadia had been collecting for him. Chromium, Manganese, Silicon, etc. Asinium was the major sub reagent to create Strong Steel. The other element could be missing, but without Asinium. There would be no Strong Steel.

George ordered the blacksmiths under him to move out of the workshop. The three of them started the process of creating Strong Steel.

The beginning of the process was similar to creating Dull Steel.

Iron Blood was poured into a Crucible with the iron from Finn’s items. They were melted together and fused into one.

Then Siderius instructed Finn and George to add the compliment materials in. Chromium, Manganese, and Silicon. Each provided a different aspect for the Strong Steel.

Then when everything mixed perfectly. Siderius took out the piece of Asinium.

To create Strong Steel, Asinium’s structure needed to be separated in two. One was its fusing quality. The second was its enhancing quality.

With Sulfur Separation Seal, Siderius split the silver metal into two pieces. A darker piece of metal and a brighter piece. Siderius put the darker piece in first. That was its fusing capability, completing the fusion of the element and left room for its enhancing quality to be added.

Then the brighter piece was put into.

"Once the metal stabilizes, it would be extremely hard to forge it. You don’t need to shape it. What you need is to hammer it as much as possible to make the internal structure of the elements stabilize completely. I will use my power to shape it in the end."

"Yes, my lord!"

Finn and George grabbed their hammer. They didn’t use the available young blacksmiths to do the work. They couldn’t entrust them with something as important as this. The two muscular blacksmith smacked the hot piece of metal over and over.

The noise of metal colliding flooded out of the workshop. The people outside all wondered what was happening inside the building.

Sweat covered Finn’s and George’s foreheads. After hours of labor, they had finally finished.

Finn and George sat on the floor, staring at the dark piece of metal.

"It doesn’t look that impressive." Finn said.

Siderius smiled. "It is because it isn’t in shape yet. Observe."

Siderius opened his hand. A Mercury Seal was already drawn inside his palm. The seal lit up and lifted up from his skin. It enveloped the piece of metal and began shaping it.

The outer layer of the metal peeled off, revealing a bright silvery metal beneath. It looked very similar to silver but didn’t have that much shine.

The piece formed into a ridiculous long blade. It was thinner and longer than Blazing Soul, similar to an elongated version of a great sword.

Siderius continued to shape the handle. The blade was one long continuous piece of weapon. Siderius did not add any wooden handle or hand guard onto it.

When the transformation was completed, the blade almost looked like a giant toothpick.

"That is Silver Hawk... It really does look like silver." George mumbled.

"The work isn’t done yet, George. Observe."

Siderius engraved three seals onto the sword. Two on its blade and one on its handle.

The two seals were Suppressive Presence and Temporal Transformation. The seal on the handle was Spiritual Callback, a seal conducted with Sulfur.

Once the seals were completed, they lit up in color. A yellow seal, an orange seal, and a white seal. Then they all disappeared.

Siderius took off his shirt and drew another seal on the floor. This was the second half of Suppressive Presence, called Localize Presence.

The seal floated off the floor and stuck itself onto Siderius’ back, creating a permanent tattoo on it.

"What are these magical circles for, my lord?" George couldn’t help but ask.

He and Finn had been observing closely. But they did not have any knowledge in Alchemy so they didn’t understand.

"Strong Steel is named Strong not because it is stronger than Dull or Weak Steel. It is named Strong because it had enough power to bear the power of Alchemical Seals. Not many things could do that."

Siderius lifted the Silver Hawk up and placed it on his back. The Suppressive Presence and Localize Presence Seals lit up in color. A visible link was established between the two of them.

Suddenly, Silver Hawk disappeared. And the seal on Siderius’ back dimmed down.

George and Finn widened his eyes. The physical sword that he and his friend spent the entire day to make had somehow been hidden.
