I Am the Only Fertile Woman in the Game-Chapter 246 Reunion
"Banquet hall."
As soon as Leberli finished speaking, he saw her rushing out. He didn’t care that he was the Sun of Auslan himself, and followed her, carrying her dress and urging her to slow down for fear that she would twist her ankle.
A faint puzzlement flashed in Zong Fang’s eyes as he followed.
When Qiao Suisui arrived at the banquet hall, the servants who saw her from afar respectfully bowed. The golden doors were pulled open by the servants, and the noise of the crowd hit her face immediately.
There were the sounds of guests’ laughter and joy, the noises of children chasing and playing around. The vast banquet hall accommodated around five to six hundred people, all dressed formally. The moment they saw Qiao Suisui standing at the doorway, they all looked her way and, the next second, they all bowed deeply in a courtly manner.
The man standing in the center was tall, dressed in a black suit, holding a wine glass. He noticed the crowd’s reaction and slowly turned around, his blond hair meticulously styled, his high nose and thin lips making him extremely handsome.
When Qiao Suisui saw him, her eyes instantly reddened.
"Ruka..."
Seeing this, Ruka frowned slightly and immediately set his wine glass down to stride toward her.
"What’s wrong?"
He grasped her slender wrist and drew her into his arms, looking down at her. Seeing her eyes all red, he turned to Leberli, "What did you say to her again?"
Leberli sighed, "I swear I was trying to console her." He then pleaded softly to Qiao Suisui, "Baby, I really made a mistake, I shouldn’t have spoken like that. Can you forgive me, please?"
Qiao Suisui had no idea what he had actually said, but she was eager to verify the current situation.
If Ruka, Leberli, and Zong Fang were all still around, then...
"Where is Carl?"
As soon as she finished asking, she saw the expressions of the three men become somewhat subtle.
"What’s wrong?" Qiao Suisui’s heart skipped a beat.
Ruka smoothed the stray hair by her ear and said, "He should still be clashing with summer."
Qiao Suisui repeated in a daze, "summer...?"
Zong Fang explained to her, "summer insisted on enlisting with the brothers, and now the father and daughter are probably at loggerheads."
After speaking, he surreptitiously watched Qiao Suisui’s thoughtful expression, his mind churning, then added, "Anubis said he got held up by something, but he’ll be here soon."
Sure enough, Qiao Suisui’s face looked visibly relieved.
Zong Fang’s eyes flickered, he took her hand, and whispered in her ear, "Qiaoqiao, today is the third anniversary of our coupling ceremony. Did you prepare a gift?"
Qiao Suisui’s figure stiffened, and she blinked.
No wonder he had been holding a gift box all this time...
What should she do? Saying she hadn’t prepared anything or that she had forgotten would both be hard to excuse.
She frowned in distress and said, "I should have prepared something...but I forgot where I put it..."
A swift gleam of light flashed in Zong Fang’s eyes, followed by a smile.
"No worries, let’s start the banquet first."
Leberli had already gone to entertain the guests. Today, not only families of high esteem from the Auslan Empire had arrived but also envoys from various member countries. It was only proper not to neglect them. Ruka had just been called away by a servant, his whereabouts unknown, leaving only Zong Fang by her side.
Zong Fang had donned a white suit today, his silver hair now cropped shorter than before, transforming him into a figure both sleek and mature. He propped up his left arm, signaling Qiao Suisui to take it, then handed her a glass of champagne, whispering as he did, "If someone comes to toast, just take a sip."
Qiao Suisui had initially felt uncertain about how to handle this unfamiliar situation, but Zong Fang stayed by her side the whole time, timely reminding her of who was approaching to toast and what to say in response. By the end of the various rounds of greeting, there had been no slips.
It was only then that she began to grasp that this banquet was hosted by Leberli, originally intended to celebrate their coupling anniversary. However, there was a double celebration as Taier and Harvis had all passed their military capability assessments. They only needed to serve in the army for four years, after which they could join the Military Department or the Military Intelligence Bureau, or even move to the Federation if they wished. Their prospects were indeed bright, and Ruka’s position was secure with successors. Thus, people had continuously come over to congratulate her and praise her upbringing skills.
Qiao Suisui thought to herself that she hadn’t really been involved much...
The recruits this time were the three lion cubs of Harvis and the three deer cubs of Taier; she hadn’t heard about Zong Fang’s children joining.
With this in mind, Qiao Suisui looked up and asked, "What about Josiah and the others?"
Zong Fang paused, asking, "Who is Josiah?"
Qiao Suisui took a deep breath, feeling a blockage in her throat.
Would she still have to face loss...
As she was feeling a bit sorrowful, there suddenly was some commotion not far away. Five tall, slim youths led the way, each with a distinguished appearance and demeanor. Then four little females came in, lovely as jade and snow. Although they hadn’t fully matured, one could already tell their exceptional features from their delicate brows and facial contours.
Zong Fang looked over and then, patting Qiao Suisui’s back, said, "It seems like father sent them over in advance. I didn’t let the younger ten come; they would find this sort of banquet uninteresting."
No sooner had he spoken than the youths, dressed in suits and dresses, came straight over and stood neatly, performing the Federation’s salute to Qiao Suisui and Zong Fang.
"Father, mother."
Zong Fang nodded and asked the youth standing in the middle, "What about grandfather?"
The youth, poised and carrying the demeanor of a noble, replied, "Grandfather has gone back; he also sent his regards to Uncle Leberli."
Qiao Suisui studied the youth’s face; wasn’t this Josiah whom she had seen grown up before? How could Zong Fang act as though he didn’t know about this child?
Engrossed in her thoughts, she missed the youth’s gaze drifting towards her. After hesitating for a few seconds, the youth licked his lips and said to Qiao Suisui, "Mom, I passed the annual exam at the Interstellar Strategy Academy a few days ago." He then appeared somewhat expectant of something.
Qiao Suisui commented somewhat awkwardly, feeling it was somewhat insufficient, then stepped forward and touched his head.
"Well done."
The youth struggled to suppress his laughter, his ears turning rosy, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
A baby-faced boy in the back looked envious. Qiao Suisui recognized him; it was Qiao Bai.
She walked over, gently pinched Qiao Bai’s chubby face, and said, "You did well too."
Qiao Bai’s eyes widened, flickering as he blurted out, "But I didn’t do well on my exam..."
Qiao Suisui chuckled and said, "But you are cute, do you think being cute is that easy?"
The boy scratched his head, giggling sheepishly.
The other children, eager for praise, crowded around Qiao Suisui, each boasting about their performance at school and seeking compliments.
Zong Fang coughed lightly, and the children instantly quieted down, not daring to speak frivolously, and stood neatly again.
Qiao Suisui glanced at him, sounding somewhat perplexed, "Why so serious?"
She had never seen him like this before.
Zong Fang looked at her helplessly, drew her closer by her waist, and leaned to her ear to gently nip it, whispering, "Is it not what you said, you play the good cop, I play the bad cop."
