I Am Not A Goblin Slayer-Chapter 375 - 238: Spineless Goblin (Part 2)
The missile, specialized for spell power due to the increased circle, directly hit the goblin shaman, releasing immense kinetic energy.
Compared to a big goblin, the goblin shaman’s body was naturally insufficient and could not withstand this attack.
As the shockwave spread, its skin was torn like fragile paper, followed by flesh, then bone.
The goblin shaman’s chest visibly caved in, and its whole body flew back at a faster speed, crashing to the ground, finally landing.
With only a single breath left, the last magic missile arrived!
Its damaged body could no longer hold up in this explosion, shattering into dozens of pieces scattered everywhere.
"Elite Demon Goblin Shaman *1 has been killed."
At the moment of the shaman’s death, an invisible wave swept across the field.
All goblins, whether ordinary or elite, froze momentarily, and the red, violent glow emanating from them slowly extinguished.
The shaman is dead, and the blessing effects on them were suddenly dispelled.
The goblin army inevitably was affected, especially the ordinary goblins, who, now deprived of enhancements, faced the terrifying figure on the battlefield and completely lost the will to fight; some had already turned to flee.
But the clay creatures created by Gauss wouldn’t let them escape, continuing to quickly kill those ordinary goblins.
The elite goblins, however, charged at Gauss with even more rage.
The nearest two-headed goblin approached, holding a sword in one hand and a staff in the other.
As it swung down its sword, it did not delay with the staff in its other hand.
Gauss felt as if a restraining power was locking his body.
Fortunately, after a brief moment, the surging power and dragon blood within him allowed him to break free from the constraint.
"Bang!" It seemed some kind of spell had failed.
Gauss raised his dragon claw to block the great sword coming down.
Sparks flared on the surface of the dragon scales.
"Magic Missile!"
His left hand pressed the white magic wand against the goblin’s abdomen.
A magic missile, enhanced by the increased circle, shot out with a boom.
His body used the force exerted by the great sword on his right arm’s dragon claw to fly backward.
This elite goblin was not as strong as imagined, possibly due to a lack of armor, making its defense relatively weak.
The enhanced magic missile exploded at close range, directly blasting its abdomen to bits.
It reached down in confusion.
First, it touched a cold, empty void, then the sticky, disgusting feel of slippery intestines slipping through its coarse fingers, plopping to the ground.
The sound seemed like drawing a curtain open, as more and more organs and intestines slid from the wound.
The two-headed goblin kneeled, setting down the great sword, and desperately tried to stuff its organs back.
But it was all in vain; the faster it moved, the more severe damage the movements caused.
"Cough cough!"
Blood gushed out from its mouth like a spring.
Perhaps, on the brink of death, the brain full of muscles would be flooded with endless regret, lamenting provoking this humanoid creature exuding an aura like Star Destruction.
Gauss paid no mind to the two-headed goblin, as more elite goblins quickly chased after him.
Now, most of the elite goblins bore their hatred towards him, which was a good thing.
"Boom!!"
Another small-scale earthquake-like tremor; Gauss knew it was likely Ying facing the goblin bat knights from above.
He could only hope that the other side was alright.
Besides the goblin bat knights, several goblin wolf riders also charged at the three with Ying.
What he needed to do was quickly eliminate the big goblins and two-headed goblins with a warrior orientation in front of him.
Without the boosts and healing from the goblin shaman, these warriors were like a brainless mob.
They were eager to capture Gauss, rip him apart barehanded, and devour him alive.
But Gauss was extremely flexible, darting about in the jungle like an eel.
The goblin warriors, strong but lacking agility, couldn’t land a blow on this hexagon warrior.
In terms of strength, constitution, agility, and perception, there was not a single shortcoming.
On the surface, he appeared to be a caster, but in reality, even without spells, his melee abilities surpassed many professional warriors, even these demons before him.
Moreover, he could flexibly use various spells, creating opportunities for deadly strikes from time to time.
Heat Metal, Burning Hand, Magic Missile...
Magic power waves continually surged through the night forest.
"Boom!"
Once again, a dragon claw radiating a magic aura struck the big goblin’s body surface.
A sudden burst of enhancing light appeared.
Gauss was familiar with this.
"Another critical hit!"
The dragon claw pierced through the thick wooden shield as if it were tofu, finally smashing the Big Goblin onto the ground.
The powerful impact blasted a large pit on the ground, and the Big Goblin’s body exploded in an instant, turning into mincemeat.
"Elite Demon Big Goblin *1 killed"
Gauss let out a breath of impure air.
Looking around, the ground no longer showed a complete goblin.
His chest heaved, and he took a few breaths; continuously killing eight Elite Goblins also consumed a significant amount of his stamina.
It was only possible because it was him; any other bronze Adventurer couldn’t single-handedly kill so many Elite Goblins in such a short time.
Casting, dodging, blocking, close combat—all these actions consume a large amount of Magic and stamina. Fortunately, there was an extra energy supply from the Energy Storage Glands; otherwise, he would be exhausted by now.
Gauss chewed on food while looking toward Ying’s direction.
During his whole combat process, the ground beneath kept shaking, the Bat Knight above was probably enraged, continuously launching attacks.
But judging from its frequent attacks, it indicated it hadn’t harmed Ying.
Sure enough, when Gauss focused his attention.
He saw Ying’s figure in the distance.
She was now completely clad in black, as if wearing a flowing, constantly twisting garment of darkness.
This shadow made her already low presence even more eerie and unpredictable, blending into the surrounding night, only faintly outlined when she moved occasionally.
A few goblin wolf cavalry were already gone, likely perished with the cooperation of the three of them.
Only the goblin bat knight in the sky remained, and it was their strongest force in this night attack.
Gauss squinted his eyes.
The bat knight was quite cautious.
It never descended in altitude.
Stayed at a distance beyond the range of his Magic Missile.
It seemed to have sensed that the commotion from Gauss had stopped.
Its focus shifted away from that troublesome black figure below, turning its head to look elsewhere.
And found a sight that made its eyes widen.
All dead?
This realization made its heart race uncontrollably.
At the moment when Gauss proactively faced those eight, the venue’s largest group of Elite Goblins, it diverted its attention away from Gauss.
Now it learns that all eight companions were slaughtered in such a short time?
It swallowed hard.
Unable to understand how Gauss did it.
Were they all useless?
But logically, without the mount beneath it, even it couldn’t face so many of its kind head-on.
Looking at the frightening gaze Gauss also aimed at it, the Goblin Bat Knight’s anger slowly dissipated, even panic started creeping in.
An intangible sense of pressure seemed to transmit through the air, becoming more solid.
The Goblin Bat Knight began to feel uneasy.
It hesitated briefly.
And then patted the bat beneath.
The giant bat, receiving the command, let out a sharp cry, flapping its wings, and flew to higher skies.
Soon after, it disappeared into the clouds, completely gone.
"Ran... ran away?"
Gauss blinked in disbelief.
That imposing entrance of the Goblin Bat Knight felt like it was still fresh in memory.
Turned out to be this spineless?
Wasn’t it just your kin being slaughtered?
Why not try to fight more?
Moreover...
Gauss furrowed his brow.
With it fleeing, was he truly going to become famous among the goblins?
As the level increases, even goblins start to possess a certain degree of intelligence.
