I Am Not A Goblin Slayer-Chapter 317 - 219: A Big Score (Part 2)
A few 1-star Adventurers looked at the advanced squad leaning on the railing in the distance, a hint of envy on their faces.
They were looking at a Dwarf, who was less than 5 feet tall, yet his frame was extremely sturdy.
He had a reddish-brown beard, wore a set of heavy plated armor shining with a Magic luster, held a massive tower shield nearly as tall as a person engraved with mountain runes in his left hand, and wielded a heavy warhammer in his right.
Beside him stood another person, a tall human female Mage, dressed in a finely textured deep blue form-fitting mage robe trimmed with silver thread, with the hem subtly swirling on its own, faintly glowing like ice crystals.
She had silver hair, tied at the back with a simple mithril headband, revealing a smooth forehead and a pair of slightly pointed ears.
The third teammate was a male Priest, wearing a spotless white ceremonial robe, with neatly combed golden short hair.
"That’s ’Hammer’, right?"
"I heard he’s from the Ironheart clan of the Dwarf Kingdom." A tall skinny Adventurer whispered to his companion. "It’s said that this clan has lived at the foot of a volcano for generations, exceptionally skilled in forging equipment. If someday I could buy a masterpiece from their clan, that would be great."
His gaze stayed on the Dwarf’s warhammer and tower shield, equipment whose extraordinary quality was obvious even to a layman.
His companion clicked his tongue in wonder, "No wonder they could hold their ground on the city wall that night for so long. That Priest is ’Light Healer’ Elton? He’s the one who healed my wounds..."
Gauss listened to the whispering of the other lower-level Adventurers, nodding knowingly.
It seemed that on that night, his was not the only team drawing attention; other famous squads also shone brightly elsewhere.
However, from the discussion of lower-level Adventurers, it seemed that besides him, most of those remembered were rank 5 Adventurers.
The strength at this level of Professional had a noticeable enhancement.
"Dragon-man Gauss is here too."
Gauss’s arrival also drew quite a bit of attention.
"Gauss? He’s an Adventurer from our Gray Rock Town, though there he’s called Goblin Slayer." Among the Adventurers was another from Gray Rock Town, who introduced him with a hint of pride to those around him.
"Goblin Slayer? Why does he have this strange title? Any particular reason, do tell."
"It’s like this..."
Gauss and his two companions reached the service desk, explained the situation to the receptionist, and were soon led to a conference room.
About twenty minutes later.
Gauss and his companions left the conference room.
The response they received was fairly satisfactory. Although the 11th outpost had completely fallen, because their Black Forest investigation task was accepted earlier, and directly from Rich, the Guildmaster of the Adventurer’s Guild in Forest Crown Town, even though Rich was currently away, the local Adventurer’s Guild would not refuse them.
They just needed to explain the situation to the upper management and apply for approval, which would take about five days, and then the rewards would be granted.
So Gauss and his companions had not labored in vain.
As they walked out of the conference room.
A loud, dwarf-accented voice suddenly boomed in the relatively quiet second floor space.
"Hey, lad over there!" He waved his sturdy arm in Gauss’s direction, his reddish-brown beard shaking with his movement.
The speaker was none other than the rank 5 Dwarf Adventurer who had been quietly discussed earlier.
Gauss looked around, confirmed no one else was nearby, and pointed at himself with a puzzled look.
"Yes, don’t look at others, it’s you! Lad, let’s get acquainted."
His unreserved shout immediately drew the attention of many on the second floor.
Gauss furrowed his brows slightly, but said nothing more.
The other party’s voice was loud, but there was no offensive intention in his tone.
The Dwarf strode towards Gauss.
As he approached, Gauss realized just how short he truly was.
He was slightly taller than Andri, and without his curly hair, might even have been shorter.
He had to lower his head to see the other clearly.
Despite his height, the Dwarf’s presence was strong, looking up at Gauss with calm confidence.
"I am Sorin Stone-Copper, but you can call me ’Hammer’, from the Ironheart clan." The Dwarf proudly announced his name and curiously examined Gauss, especially his right hand.
"I’m Gauss, from Gray Rock Town." Gauss didn’t know what this rank 5 Adventurer wanted with him, but he briefly introduced himself.
"I know you, you transformed on the city wall, tore apart a bear monster with your claws, ’Dragon-man’ Gauss, right? Not bad, not bad at all..."
Dwarf Sorin put his hands on his hips, his massive warhammer landing lightly on the thick carpet with a thud.
He looked at Gauss, his gaze tinged with appreciation.
Since the night at the 11th outpost, Gauss had indeed gained some fame, many had seen him transform.
Partly, it was because such a dragon form was relatively rare in a frontier town. Secondly, it was related to his profession, as he displayed casting abilities later on, many knew him as a Caster.
His combat style was so "brutal" and specialized in close combat casting which was really uncommon, even beyond the town’s vicinity.
However, many lower-level Adventurers didn’t dare to approach and get to know him.
But as a member of a rank 5 Adventurer Squad, Dwarf Sorin had no such concerns, he always had an affinity for Adventurers filled with strength.
