Spotlights illuminated the arena, illuminating those who had passed the test. Most of them wore expressions of exhaustion on their faces.

Although the battles had only taken place in simulated virtual spaces against a single formidable opponent from the legends of the past, many of the participants had endured life-and-death battles and a nerve-wracking struggle that felt like an eternity to survive the hellish test space.

"No matter what, the four of us made it. It would have been embarrassing to be eliminated during the test round," Ant-Man exhaled, scanning the other successful participants with a serious look. "But there are more people who passed than I expected."

Over thirty individuals had survived three minutes against WWII Kyle, which showed how much Earth had changed in the past few decades, with a surge in superheroes and superpowered beings.

Among these were all the heroes from the Avengers, which came as a surprise to most of the audience.

In addition, there was another group of about seven or eight individuals dressed in matching black battle suits, wearing demonic masks, and wielding various cold weapons such as swords, spears, and axes.

These were clearly the Card Bearers of the Nation of Carl.

"An entire team passing the test - impressive," Ant-Man remarked, eyeing the Card Bearers and sensing a sinister aura around them.

"I thought you were in charge of these people?" Spider-Man looked curiously at Agent Venom, who was known to be the captain of a team of Card Bearers.

"Not those seven," Agent Venom shook his head. "They're the elite among the Card Bearers, personally favored by Boss Kyle. Each one is capable of holding their own, rivaling the strength of the Avengers' heroes."

He paused and looked at Deadpool. "The one beside you is also a Card Bearer, though his status is somewhat special and not officially within the ranks."

"What?" Spider-Man and Ant-Man were shocked. So two of their group of four were from Carl's Nation.

"Haha, so you figured it out? I'd expect nothing less from the Captain leading a team of Card Bearers. My old man talks about you a lot," Deadpool said, revealing himself without hesitation.

"Had you returned sooner, you could have led a second team and received Boss Kyle's blessing. Your strength would be no less than mine," Agent Venom added.

"Perhaps," Deadpool fell silent, not continuing the subject. He had always struggled with the knowledge that his very existence had been shaped by this man. Maybe that was why he was afraid to face Kyle.

The arena and the stands were filled with whispers and discussions about the previous fights. Just then, Kyle's projection appeared above the arena.

"Thirty-six contestants have passed, more than I expected," Kyle's projection said calmly, looking down at the contestants. "With that, we move directly to the second round."

"What will happen in the second round?"

The contestants felt a mixture of anticipation and tension as the audience erupted in applause and cheers. Everything they had witnessed today challenged their understanding of the world.

Regardless of the outcome, what really mattered was the competition itself, which featured battles that pushed human and superhuman limits to the limit.

"The rules are simple. Over the next five minutes, contestants will form teams of three on the arena floor. The teams will then compete against each other. The losing team will be eliminated and the winning team will advance," Kyle's voice echoed as the projection faded.

The crowd gasped; this rule was ruthless. Half of the contestants would be eliminated at once. Choosing the right teammates would be crucial. Naturally, those with friends would prefer to team up with them.

"Now your time to choose teammates begins," Kyle's projection disappeared, and a massive five-minute countdown appeared above the arena.

Contestants immediately began moving about, finding teammates and forming teams of three. However, individuals such as the Ancient One, Mordo, and Stephen skipped the process and naturally attracted partners.

"The four of us..." Spider-Man, Ant-Man, Deadpool and Agent Venom looked at each other, knowing that one of them would be left out.

Before they could decide, a voice called out nearby, "Hey, Spidey, don't think I didn't see you."

"Mr. Stark!" Spider-Man's eyes lit up as he saw Iron Man approaching, excitement in his voice. "I knew if you were here, you'd pass the first test."

"So how about teaming up with me? Or your current group?" Iron Man glanced at the others and gave Agent Venom a nod of recognition.

"In that case, I'll join Mr. Stark's team," Spider-Man decided immediately.

Spider-Man pumped his fist in excitement as Ant-Man looked on with envy. With Iron Man as their ally, success in round two was almost guaranteed. Still, their team with Agent Venom wasn't bad either.

Across the arena, the Avengers gathered and prepared to split into teams. Just then, someone tapped Scarlet Witch lightly on the shoulder.

Scarlet Witch turned and her eyes lit up as she saw two stunningly elegant women. One was Raina, whom she recognized, while the other, though unfamiliar, was easy to identify because of her stature.

It was Lucy.

Lucy, who had first followed Kyle during World War II, had later become the head of the Supernatural Incident Bureau and was now the queen of the Carl Nation.

"I'm Lucy," Lucy said with a sweet smile. Dressed in a tight-fitting athletic outfit with her long, waist-length blonde hair in two ponytails, she looked like a young and vibrant girl. She introduced herself in a friendly manner.

"Hello, ma'am," Wanda stammered, her cheeks inexplicably flushed with a hint of red.

"You're the older of the twins, Wanda, aren't you? We're one people short here. Would you like to join our team?" Lucy's soft voice was comforting, without a hint of judgment.

"Yes," Wanda agreed without hesitation.

As a result, two formidable groups had already formed in the arena before the Team Battle officially began.

One was a spellcasting team led by the Ancient One. The other was an all-female team led by Lucy. While Ancient One's team had only one standout, the latter team had all three of its members ranked in the top eight in power.

Quicksilver, left behind by his sister, teamed up with Vision and Black Widow. Captain America, Winter Soldier, and Falcon formed another team (Hawkeye was at home recovering and didn't participate in this event).

Iron Man, who had fallen out with other members of the Avengers, teamed up with Spider-Man and enlisted Black Panther, who unexpectedly decided to compete, creating a group of three with immense resources known as the "Kryon Team.

The seven elite Card Bearers who survived the first round, along with Hellfire and a black-flamed horse, formed three separate teams of three.

...

Soon the five-minute countdown ended!

The superhuman competition began immediately.
