I Am Genie-Chapter 73: Meeting Again
Michael at this moment was still sneaking and hiding in the forest. He even felt a bit worried for Leo because without him, Leo would definitely lose.
If he knew that while he wasn’t around Leo had ’sold him out’ like that, he would definitely regret these thoughts right now.
The sun gradually set, and Michael’s stomach got hungrier and hungrier. Earlier he only got to eat a little bit before being attacked, forcing him to use up a lot of energy, so now he was extremely tired.
His eyes were half-closed as if he could pass out at any moment. His limbs were limp, not feeling any life in them. He had this feeling that if he slept this time, he’d never wake up again.
Of course, this feeling only came because he was in a situation that was way too safe and boring. If Dragon God suddenly appeared right now, he’d definitely still have enough strength to run away faster than anyone.
"Haiz, what the hell am I supposed to do? Do I really have to hide here for a few days?"
Looking at the small rocky cave that didn’t even have a single drop of water. The only things ’edible’ here were small creatures and insects. But Michael right now wouldn’t eat those things because he found them really disgusting, plus he didn’t know if eating them would cause poisoning or not.
Thinking too much was useless, so Michael lay down to sleep straight until he couldn’t sleep anymore, then decided to see if he should go home to check the situation.
---
Because his body’s condition was pretty unusual, Michael slept straight through until the next morning when he woke up.
Just as he opened his eyes, a blurry shadowy thing with two... two horns appeared in his sight, startling him so much he jumped up. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Looking closer, he realized it was just some weird fruit and some random stuff on a tree that accidentally created that shadow on the ground.
"Damn it... What’s wrong with me? Have I ever been scared of anyone to this level?"
The more he thought, the more pissed off Michael got. Himself, a lifetime of being arrogant, afraid of no one, walking down the street he would kick any dog that dared to look at him right in the mouth. Yet that arrogant teenager now was afraid of a ’little girl’. The more he thought, the more frustrated he felt.
If his strength was equal to hers... No, just about seventy percent of hers and he definitely wouldn’t be afraid of her.
But the reality of the current gap was too big, leaving him with no choice. Anyway, someone born in a quite peaceful era, basically as normal as him, would hardly have much combat experience.
Moreover, even if he was born in some war zones during that time, he wasn’t very good at hand-to-hand combat because modern warfare all used firearms.
Even though no one was here, Michael still carefully observed the situation before stepping out of the rocky cave. The sound he paid special attention to at this moment was the sound of a sharp object cutting through the wind.
Outside was clearly absolutely safe. Around here, forget about the presence of Dragon God, not even a trace left by large animals could be seen.
Just as he was about to walk home, he stopped. Doing that didn’t make him feel too secure, so he still had to be really careful.
Domain Expansion – Supreme Kitchen!
This feeling of safety was just way too motherfucking great. Although using the domain made his brain work a lot, often giving him headaches, the trade-off for this safety was extremely worth it.
"This way is way more reassuring. Now let’s go."
Saying that, he was about to run home but stopped again. Now there was another huge problem... he was lost.
"Motherf*cker, the forest is all trees and trees. Now which way do I go?"
Even though his memory wasn’t bad, this space was really extremely hard to determine direction in. As for looking at the sun or stars to navigate, he had only heard about it, never actually learned, so he couldn’t just guess randomly and go blindly.
With no other choice, he could only use instant teleportation to get to the highest possible spot to observe.
This ability was truly extremely convenient. Comparatively, he felt that up to this point, whether it was Dragon God’s domain or Leo’s, neither was as useful as his. On the flip side, his close-combat ability was way worse compared to those two.
---
Struggling for a few hours after that, Michael finally found his way back home even though the distance was only about five miles.
Just as he got near the backyard, he was stunned by the scene before his eyes. Leo and Dragon God were sitting eating together. He was eating meat and she was gnawing on some kinds of plants that looked extremely strange but also not ordinary at all.
On top of that, the two of them were actually in their human forms. The atmosphere had not a single hint of ’gunpowder smell’. Everything was so peaceful that Michael suspected he was still asleep and this was a dream.
"Hey, Michael! Where did you hide that you’re only coming back now?"
Leo waved his hand and shouted, cutting off Michael’s chaotic train of thought. He was about to say something when Dragon God suddenly stood up, causing him to immediately clap his hands and leap back fifty meters.
The atmosphere at this moment was both quiet and bizarre. Everyone just stared wide-eyed at each other but no one moved or did anything else.
Dragon God and Michael kept glaring at each other with wide eyes, the wider they got, the more it looked like their eyes were about to pop out. Michael himself didn’t know since when he had become this ’sensitive’ when seeing her.
"She’s now a friend, a comrade of ours. No need to be scared like that."
Leo’s voice was like a stone dropping onto a still lake, creating ripples that broke the current silence.
"Hmph, you are Slaughter God, you know. Seeing me and being this scared is really extremely embarrassing."
Dragon God pouted and let out a mocking remark. Of course, inside she was laughing so hard she couldn’t close her mouth. Indeed, among the people she had beaten up, Michael’s behavior towards her was the most entertaining.
Michael didn’t react to her words; his whole body was stiff as a wooden statue. He understood every word Leo said, but put together, he felt like he had misheard.
