I Am Genie-Chapter 58: Cursing the Gods
While Leo was shocked by this strange phenomenon, the corner of Dragon God’s mouth curled up into a proud smile. Anyway, having lived for so long, this was the first time she felt like she was dominating other gods, and two gods at that.
Gods are basically equal in strength, so one-on-one fights usually end in a draw. If lose in a one-on-one match, it’s just because dumb, there’s no other reason.
"Never thought I’d see the day Martial God got scared shitless by my divine artifact like this."
Her mouth was mocking him, but the tip of her spear didn’t stop for a second. She kept stabbing continuously like a machine gun straight at Leo, making him run for his life.
"Damn it... How the hell am I supposed to win like this? You’re cheating."
Michael saw Leo getting chased around without fighting back, and the corner of his mouth twitched. So this is how useful a divine artifact is, one stab and Leo doesn’t dare fight, only dares to run.
Although Leo’s plan was to stall for time, in the previous situation he could choose to fight or dodge, but now he could only choose to evade.
"Wait, wait, we can still talk, right? Shit! You’re a god! You’ve lived so long, why are you so hot-headed?"
Leo talked while running, trying to calm her down a bit. At first he was confident he could beat her, but now the situation has gotten a lot worse.
Just one divine artifact caused this much trouble, plus gods all have domains. He doesn’t know what her domain does, but she definitely knows the abilities of Martial God’s domain well.
In terms of intelligence, he’s at too much of a disadvantage, so fighting now isn’t very wise. If he can pry information from her, preferably find out her weak point, then he’d still have a chance to win.
Of course, if the situation is definitely life or death, there’s still the final super-ultimate technique called "Dad, help me!". But Leo feels using this move is super embarrassing.
He’s lived for decades and has never yelled that out. Ah, well, the main reason is that in his past life he was an orphan, so this phrase was completely useless.
Dragon God saw Leo running around begging for peace and got extremely annoyed. Him acting like this made her feel like there was no fun left in getting revenge. She wanted him to desperately beg, not run around in circles like this.
"Shut up!"
She roared, and with that the tip of her spear got faster and faster, the attack range wider along with flexible changes that pushed Leo into a tight spot.
’Damn it, continuing like this isn’t good.’
Leo was extremely tense right now. He had to dodge while simultaneously deflecting some unavoidable blows while thinking of a way to persuade her.
Gotta say, in dangerous situations humans seem to gain extra strength, the brain thinks incredibly fast. Within a few seconds he came up with a new idea to make her stop.
"I know you want revenge, but you have to at least let me know what Slaughter God and Martial God did. I don’t know anything right now. Killing someone who knows nothing, can that really be called successful revenge? At least let me die knowing what’s going on."
The method he thought of was very simple: admit guilt. He admitted she was right and he was wrong, while his tone sounded like he was ready to die. As long as he understood more about this conflict, there would definitely be many ways to resolve it.
His idea actually worked. Dragon God suddenly stopped and began rubbing her chin in thought.
"Hmm, what you say is true. Like this it’s just randomly killing some unrelated person. The feeling doesn’t seem quite satisfying."
"Exactly. You are the supreme exalted god. I’m just a lowly human unlucky enough to receive the inheritance of some damn god. Don’t you think I’m right, Leo?"
Leo didn’t need to wink, didn’t need to signal anything, but Michael immediately understood his thoughts. So he didn’t disappoint and freely cursed Slaughter God. Moreover, this was partly his own thoughts too, not just for Dragon God’s sake.
"Right, right, right. That bastard, who does he think he is calling himself Cook God? His cooking is terrible, his meat cutting is ugly, his heat control always burns the food, he doesn’t even know how to use spices. The food he cooks, compared to shit, it’s an insult to shit."
Taking a deep breath, Michael got enough oxygen to continue another long stream of curses.
"Has he never looked in a mirror? That face of his is uglier than imaginable, yet he always likes to smile, looking extremely disgusting. His body is clumsy, his limbs are awkward, his dressing sense has no style. Compared to the great Dragon God here, he’s trash within trash..."
Of course, it wasn’t just that. Michael was utilizing over twenty years of his bullshitting skills on Earth to curse. Dragon God listened to him curse, and the more she listened, the better it got, a million times better than listening to singing.
The more she heard these two inheritors of those gods curse the very gods they inherited power from, the more delighted she felt. Moreover, she felt Michael’s curses were extremely accurate, they were exactly what she thought about Slaughter God.
Although she was the leader of the energy monsters, from the past until now she had never heard flattery like this. Those energy monsters that had awakened spiritual intelligence, although they could speak human language, they hadn’t studied properly, their culture was poor, so they couldn’t come up with words like this.
"Ha ha ha ha, keep talking. I still want to listen. If you guys talk until I’m satisfied, then we can negotiate a bit."
She burst out laughing, no longer intending to attack. In tens of thousands of years, never once had she felt this refreshed. Although she hadn’t killed Michael and Leo yet, she felt the feeling now was much more comfortable than killing them.
Even if they were lying now, it wasn’t very important. In her eyes, it was similar to the two gods she hated most humiliating themselves under her power alone. Thinking like that made her feel that no matter what, she wouldn’t lose.
Not sure if it was because of living with Michael for a few years, but Leo’s bullshitting and lying skills had also improved significantly. The two of them, one singing lead, one harmonizing, cursed endlessly without stopping.
