I Am Genie-Chapter 34: Meet the Giant Again
The image before Michael twisted and then quickly became blurry. After a brief moment, he felt he had arrived at a completely different place. This place was both strange and familiar, like a dream from a long time ago.
He pinched his cheek hard with his hand, making his cheek turn red, the pain shot straight to his brain making him grimace.
"Damn, a feeling this real but no matter how you look at it, it doesn’t seem like reality. This place is exactly like that dream. Oh, if it’s the same, doesn’t that mean I can fly?"
Thinking it, he acted, he used his thoughts to hypnotize himself that he could fly and indeed he immediately shot up into the sky. Looking down from above, the majestic mountains and rivers were strangely small. He felt like suddenly transforming from an ant into an elephant.
Looking towards the horizon, he discovered this entire place, though vast, had its borders covered in thick fog. This place might be huge to him, but to that giant, it probably wasn’t much different in size than a stadium is to a human.
"If this place is like that dream, then that giant must be here somewhere."
Michael turned his head around, scanning the surroundings quickly but couldn’t see any trace of the giant.
"Am I in a different place? Then what’s the point of this place? Does everyone who awakens as a contractor have this experience?"
He had many questions in his heart but right now there was no one to help him answer them. Wait a minute, he does have a system though.
’System, where am I?’
[System scanning...]
[This is a type of space within your consciousness.]
’My consciousness? You’re kidding? I can imagine all of this? And the sensory feelings are incredibly real.’
[You certainly cannot do that. A powerful external force used your consciousness as a foundation to construct this place.]
’An external force?’
Michael pondered deeply. Based on what he had heard, it was highly likely that it was the existence that had intervened in his consciousness during his awakening.
’System, does the other party have malicious intent towards me?’
[The system does not have the function to read others’ thoughts.]
’Ack...’
Sometimes Michael also forgot the rules about the system’s questions. Adjusting his wording a bit, he continued asking.
’Is this space dangerous to my life?’
[No, based on the data, all of this only affects consciousness. A large amount of data uploaded to the brain at once may cause you to be unconscious for a few days but is not life-threatening.]
Unconscious? Then Leo must have had a similar situation, which is why he was unconscious for three days. Wait! If that’s the case, doesn’t that mean I can also awaken a god-level cultivation talent? Thinking of this, Michael immediately felt the ninety years of lifespan paid was completely worth it.
Right now, he just wanted to quickly find out who exactly would sign the contract with him. Was it that giant or another powerful existence.
Suddenly, a powerful roar filled the blue sky, making Michael alert as he looked up into the air. He saw the huge, colossal shadow of a creature with two large wings hidden within the cloud layer. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"What kind of monster is this?!"
Feeling something was wrong, he immediately flew far away at high speed, but right at that moment, another roar full of helplessness rang out. Looking up at the sky again, he saw a large black shadow the size of a meteorite falling towards him.
"F*ck!"
Michael cursed, but his movements didn’t slow down one bit. He used maximum speed to dodge and evade.
The giant object brushed past him, and only now could he see clearly that this was the head of a giant monster that looked like some kind of dragon. Its neck had been severed by something extremely sharp with just one strike.
Blood splattered from the head onto his body, but it didn’t cause any pain or strange sensations. It’s just that the blue color of the blood wasn’t a common type of blood to Michael. Suddenly, he smelled something... incredibly fragrant.
"Huh, what kind of blood is this? Smells so good."
Before he could smell more of this strange blood, Michael saw the surroundings darken as if something was blocking the sunlight. Looking up once more, he saw a gigantic body falling. Combined with the head, this was clearly a dragon.
"Why is it always aiming for me?!"
He once again used all his speed to run away. Thankfully, the flying speed in this consciousness world wasn’t low, otherwise, he would have been crushed by that mountain-like body.
"Guest from afar, we meet again. You’re earlier than I expected."
The familiar sound from the past once again rang in Michael’s ears, causing his body to stagger. He felt a bit dizzy, as if putting his head close to a high-power speaker system.
Having heard this sound once before and knowing this was a consciousness space, Michael immediately dismissed this uncomfortable feeling.
He looked up high and saw a giant humanoid figure standing on the headless body that was falling. Though not very clear, those six arms immediately made him remember the giant he met in the dream three years ago.
The dragon’s body slammed hard onto the ground, creating a giant crater. Dust flew everywhere, making Michael unable to see anything around.
"Cough, cough... It’s you? How do you remember me?"
Even though he couldn’t see anything anymore, it didn’t hinder his conversation. Based on the current situation, Michael guessed that wasn’t just a simple dream. Perhaps calling it a meeting within consciousness was more accurate.
The giant took a deep breath, his chest swelling up greatly. He blew out a strong breath, sweeping away all the dust in the air. Of course, it also blew Michael away.
"You damned giant! What are you doing?" Michael yelled noisily, unable to stop himself in the strong wind.
"Ha ha ha, I was just cleaning up a bit. This is a consciousness space, so you won’t actually get hurt anyway."
The giant didn’t consider Michael’s yelling a big issue, so he just laughed and had no intention of helping out.
