Chapter 651: Chapter 649: The Black Monarch

But the residents were nowhere to be seen.

Divine Power Tianyang levitated in the air, searching through the memories of construction bugs he had obtained in his mind. Visions of city constructions and building commands emerged, and he realized that this planet had no concept of nations; they were all ruled by a single monarch, and at the core of every city, there was a huge teleportation gate. The inhabitants could fly and would use this colossal gate to perform ultra-long-distance teleportations to other cities.

However, the construction bugs’ memories did not contain the civilization structure of this place, and Divine Power Tianyang could not discern what the structure of the Black Giants’ civilization was like.

Nevertheless, he had already located all the cities on this planet and where the monarch resided. If he could find this monarch, he would be able to learn everything.

Divine Power Tianyang ascended higher, searching for the gigantic teleportation gate of this city. Under normal circumstances, such an immense gate should have been easy to spot, but now, with the sun extinguished, the darkness was so complete that one couldn’t see their own hand in front of them. If not for the flames at his fingertips, even a person with exceptional sight would be as blind as a bat.

The range of Divine Power Tianyang’s spectral vision was limited, as his Divine Light incarnation had its powers reduced to less than one-tenth since it had traveled too far from its original body. Merely standing in place and scanning the surroundings was insufficient to detect the teleportation gate, so he resorted to flying along the edge of the city and continuously scanning toward the center.

After what would be equivalent to 92 human hours, Divine Power Tianyang finally found the huge teleportation gate at the city’s heart. In front of this gate, he was like an ant standing in front of a military truck.

The pristine megastructure stood tall. By scanning and observing in a manner akin to a blind man feeling an elephant, Divine Power Tianyang deduced that it was broadly similar to Earth’s Arch of Triumph—a very thick hollow cube. Approaching the gateway’s hollow passage, with his diminutive form, the walls on either end of the channel seemed as distant as separate cities.

Divine Power Tianyang had learned how to use it from the construction bug’s memories and also knew where the monarch resided. All doors were interconnected, and one merely needed to meditate on the destination in their mind and then fly through the passage at "leap speed" to appear on the corresponding side of the teleportation gate.

There was no need to worry about colliding with someone else preparing to use the teleportation gate on the other side, because the channel’s entry and exit were divided into two areas. Those coming out would appear above, while those about to enter would be below. This traffic rule was much like pedestrians crossing a road at a pedestrian crossing.

Divine Power Tianyang understood the meaning of "leap speed." The construction bug’s memory described it as a type of ultra-high flight speed of the planet’s inhabitants, roughly equivalent to 29 times the speed of sound on Earth. Once this speed was reached when passing through the teleportation gate, the teleportation mechanism would be activated.

He prepared for a moment, figured out the front and back of the teleportation gate, then flew to the bottom. Next, he accelerated instantaneously to his top speed, sweeping through the center passage at 35 times the speed of sound, and silently recited the name of where the monarch was: Black Throne.

In the midst of the deadly silence, a hum suddenly sounded, and around him, waves of blue light spots emerged. Divine Power Tianyang felt as if he slid into some kind of slippery conduit, and invisible resistance rubbed against his body to slow him down.

In an instant, he flew out of the passage; the whole event took no more than 2 seconds.

The blue faint light dissipated, and once more, he was plunged into darkness. But this time, the sensation was different because his heightened senses felt a certain oppressive force; this was not an open space, but an enclosed one.

Divine Power Tianyang ignited a tiny flame at his fingertips. His lower half had become as transparent as a ghost, and his upper half was also fading. This place was too far away, nearly at the limit of Divine Light’s radiation. He felt he now possessed less than one ten-thousandth of his strength; his power had declined to the minimal extent, practically making him a mere mortal who could fly.

He scanned his surroundings with his spectral vision and flew leisurely. The teleportation gate behind him, with a completely different style, was an embedded structure in the ceiling, resembling a crystal chandelier in its diamond shape, empty below. Divine Power Tianyang speculated that this should be a place similar to a hall, as there were pillars on both sides of the room with a main path deliberately left in the middle. This structure reminded him of Zhao Ling’s Lingxiao Palace hall.

The spectrum of red outlined the objects within the darkness in crimson silhouettes, Divine Power Tianyang had flown for approximately 129 human hours and at the very front, he had finally scanned a gigantic calf.

He guessed the owner of the calf must be humanoid, because the base of a throne was also revealed in the scan.

Just this calf alone, he estimated, was as tall as a mountain peak... Even though Divine Power Tianyang could now transform into a black giant, he figured he would only reach the waist of this being. And the black giant was already immensely huge on Earth.

Divine Power Tianyang could not contain the excitement in his heart, he felt as if he was touching upon a completely new realm, a sight that no scholar on Earth could have ever witnessed!

He flew upwards, scanning the giant’s upper body, piecing together the entire form of the giant.

This was the Black King, the ruler of the entire planet, who at that moment was seated on his throne, long dead. He was covered in black, his whole body fashioned with a chitinous skeletal structure, broad bones on both shoulders forming massive pauldrons, four gigantic horns upon his head, with eight pairs of closed eyes arrayed on the sides of his cheeks, without a nose, mouth, or ears.

This was the king of the black giants, and the black giant that coexisted with Divine Power Tianyang were its subjects!

Divine Power Tianyang flew to the side of the giant’s skull, reaching out to touch its immense horn, and in a flash, the Black King’s eight pairs of eyes suddenly opened! Those scarlet eyes all glared at Divine Power Tianyang!

In every eye of the king, there were three large pupils, which in his current view were comparable in size to the moon.

A surge of furious voices invaded his mind!

"They destroyed our sun!!"

Divine Power Tianyang was struck by this thunderous thought, his whole body instantly floating powerlessly in mid-air, as if his brain had been extracted and pounded repeatedly on a chopping block, each syllable striking like a merciless hammer, yet the king had not made a single sound.

And the light and heat emitted jointly from the dozens of scarlet eyes of the king were somewhat unbearable for Divine Power Tianyang, scorching him even though he was merely a Shadow.

Then, those voices heard from above the planet appeared again, filled with sadness, rage, and various negative emotions. At the same time, they were accompanied by fierce footsteps stomping on the floor.

Divine Power Tianyang turned to avoid the scorching gaze, and in this light, the hall lit up, and he saw a great crowd of the deceased black giants crammed inside, kneeling before the king, as if crying out in lament.

"The sun has been extinguished! But the war does not end! Leave this place, find them! Exterminate them all!!"

Once again, Divine Power Tianyang was struck by this thought, his form completely disintegrating, and in the blink of an eye, his consciousness traversed two worlds, returning to his own body.
