Chapter 65: Though she didn’t see him

Ariel was beyond confused. She was kissing Raymond. No, Raymond was kissing her. This must be a dream, right? The Raymond she knew definitely stated it clearly that he had no desire for her body and that he wouldn’t desire a lady that was ten years younger than him so now... Was this a dream? If it wasn’t then, what was the reason behind this kiss?

She felt his tongue slide into her mouth and the kiss got heated. As much as she loved how she was being swept by the sensation of his kiss, she couldn’t continue for much longer.

’I can’t breathe.’ she thought and tapped him, bringing him back to his senses and he pulled away.

Ariel let out heavy pants and looked up at Raymond who was equally panting and staring at her with shock filled eyes.

"Sir Raymond, what... What was that for?" She asked him but he did not respond and simply turned his back, retreating for the door. "Sir Raymond." She called him but he did not stop.

And till she saw his back no more, she couldn’t help but wonder what had come over him all of a sudden.

That kiss... She touched her lips. It felt so refreshing. She knew she shouldn’t have such desires over him but she couldn’t help herself. It wasn’t like she was asking for love or anything of that sort but what she wanted was to be showered with a little bit of affection. Not love but plain affection.

She desired him as a man and desired to be touched by him. She knew that darn fact but had kept it to herself. She told herself she wouldn’t make such a stupid move yet here... He just made that stupid move she had been avoiding.

"Can I take this as a go ahead signal?" She muttered.

Raymond stormed towards his room and shut the door. He went straight to the bathroom, got under the shower with his clothes still on and turned it on. He was showering with cold water with his clothes on and the reason behind that was because he wanted to cool his head.

That desire that had enveloped him while he ravaged Ariel’s lips was out of control. He looked down at the bulge in his pants, hoping it would go down on its own.

He didn’t like this. He didn’t like that he was being controlled by his canal and lustful desires.

"I can’t do it." He said. "I can’t do that to her."

For the first time in a long time, Raymond felt scared. He was scared that he would end up becoming like the people who hurt Ariel in the past. And by that, he meant the way they toyed with her emotions and scarred her mentally.

Love.

He wasn’t confident of his knowledge about love so if he were to start this with Ariel, he would definitely make mistakes that would hurt her. He didn’t want to hurt her. He didn’t want to see her cry because of his inability to express his emotions clearly.

"Sir Raymond?" He heard Ariel’s voice from behind and turned to see her approaching with a smile. "Is that... Because of me?" She asked him, pointing down at his pants.

"Stay there. Don’t come closer."

"How come? Don’t you ’want’ me?" She asked and snickered. "I can make you feel better. After all, all I want is to make you happy."

At that moment, Raymond immediately realized he was having an illusion. Ariel wasn’t there. There was no one there. It was all in his head.

Seeing this, he knew he was done for.

"Damnit." He cussed.

That evening, Ariel did not see Raymond at the dinner table. He seemed to have left the mansion for an urgent business. So she ate alone.

Though she didn’t see him, she got the dress he had ordered prior to the birthday celebration. It was a sparkling red dinner gown with a long slit starting from her upper thigh, down to the floor.

It had a sweetheart neckline and the material covering her back was a thin and almost transparent lace.

"It’s pretty." Ariel found herself saying. That color would definitely stand out in the midst of people.

Ariel laid on her bed and thought back to the kiss she had with Raymond. She kept wondering if there was a hidden meaning behind that kiss.

’Was he testing me?’ She wondered. Even if it were a test, there was no way for her to know if she passed it or failed it. ’Then, did he do it out of curiosity.’

She knew she’d do such a thing out of curiosity and the only thing holding her back was because she knew how to not cross boundaries. She was the type who knew how to hold back a great deal.

While still pondering on Raymond’s motive and aiming to ask him about it if she couldn’t figure it out, she unconsciously fell into sleep.

The next morning, Ariel decided she would ask Raymond the reason behind the kiss but he did not have breakfast with her.

"That’s odd." She said,

Though he was in the mansion, he refused to come down for breakfast, lunch and dinner that night.

"Ah, he’s avoiding me." Ariel concluded as she looked at herself in her mirror with lazy eyes and a slumped back. "Was it a mistake, after all?" She wondered and then sat up straight. "Or did he hate it so much that he couldn’t afford to face me? I’m not a bad kisser, though. I honed my kissing skills because Marco wouldn’t stop nagging about it."

She smacked her lips and then puckered them. She looked at her face in the mirror, from side to side, wondering if there had been something on her face at the time.

"Maybe he’s just embarrassed." She concluded. "But the celebration is tomorrow, if we don’t get back to how we were, even with all the acting skills we possess, there will be a hitch in our performance."

Fed up with this, Ariel decided to charge the issue head on. She got up from her dressing table, picked up her night robe and wore it. It was a robe made of extremely thin material so it was definitely see-through. She wore a little night dress under the robe which length stopped above her knee.

She saw no problem with her dressing and went to Raymond’s room. At first, she wanted to knock but felt like he would refuse her entry if he found out she was the one at the door, so she opened the door right away.

"Sir Raymond?" She called but there was no response. "Hm, is he in his study?" She wondered and turned, ready to leave for his study but just then, the bathroom door opened and Raymond walked out with dripping wet hair and a towel wrapped around his waist.

Ariel turned around and as soon as she saw him, she felt her head blow a fuse.

"Mamma Mia." She exclaimed, as she suddenly started drooling over the half naked Raymond who was still yet to acknowledge her presence.

His body was smoking hot in comparison to any she had ever seen and not seen.

Raymond walked towards his wardrobe and as soon as he reached out to open it, he paused. Something didn’t feel right. It felt like he was being watched so he turned, only to find Ariel drooling over his body.

His eyes widened in shock and he stepped back.

"What... What are you doing here?"
